Starbucks is Starbucks wherever you go. A few stores surround me, but I prefer this location for the following reasons. The drinks are consistent. The staff is friendly — most remember my name and my drink. The layout is smooth and organized with enough room to wait for your drink order. There’s only soo much to say about an establishment that you visit for 5 minutes a day so I hope you get my drift. Happy Dining!

It’s tiny & was colder in there than outside but they do have a public restroom & had the Double Chocolaty Chip Frapucinno, which seems to be harder & harder to find these days. Located right near the Centre Street courthouses in lower Manhattan so if you need to kill time & don’t mind not having a place to sit, it’s okay. I’ve been in worse but I’ve definitely been in better locations.

Place is not the clean. Service was a little slow. This location is near the courts you would expect it to be more up to par.

Really poor service. Usually accompanied by a long line that moves really slowly. They never put the 1% milk out so I always have to ask for it. One unisex bathroom that has trash on the floor and a fly infestation. Good coffee.

Great Starbucks. Accommodating and friendly. Yes when they are busy they have no time for chit chat and other friendly things people do. So don’t hate. They are just very busy during rush hour. No biggie. Come at a more easy going time and all is happy.

Most starbucks will always have a line in rush hour mornings. Its just how people get a kick start to their day. This starbucks is horrible with the dreary long morning line that moves in a snail pace. when youre trying to get a cup of coffee before heading into the office and you think«oh, its starbucks, the line will move fast»… think again most of the time its slow as heck. Its even worst in the afternoons here. Once or twice i was in/out in about 10 minutes… Those lucky times. Better off getting coffee elsewhere.

I don’t have any complaints about this Starbucks… it isn’t crazy fabulous — but it’s not a terrible location either and it’s closest to the office so it tends to get more business from me than other locations. It’s of decent size with a few tables, and plenty of standing room when you’re waiting for your drink. The staff is pleasant and will occasionally hook a girl up w/some caramel drizzle on her frapp. And despite the long line they’re really effective at getting orders and making them quickly. Bonus points for the fact that I’ve never had a bad frapp from this place.

Pretty busy Starbucks. Typical Starbucks time to get drinks. Only one couch sitting area. Only 1 bathroom unisex but it’s dirty and stinks real bad.

This has to be the worst Starbucks in the history of Starbucks. Seriously. I feel like there should be a contest because I’m really curious to see what others are experiencing. And I beg of you, before you dismiss me as some up-tight looney woman who is now ranting because someone dared to mess up her soy-half caf-sugarfree-misto, please just go and check it out for yourself [preferably between 9−10am] and PLEASE tell me what you experience. I swear, if I just get 3 ppl who tell me they went during that time and it was fine, I will remove this review. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – This location has a number of things that are NOT going for them. I work close by and so this location used to be my go to caffeine fix. But after 4(yes, 4) terrible experiences, I just cannot justify spending my money there. Just by way of example, on two occassions, they did not have water and so could only offer patrons the coffee that was already brewed. This issue(albeit unusual) didn’t really bother me… I’m sure the issue was completely out of their control. But what really bothered me was that they weren’t actively announcing it folks on line. There was a HUGE line and you only became aware of the issue when you were 4 ppl away from the register and overheard one of the baristas tell someone else that they couldn’t make their mocha because there was no water. I thought there was going to be a fight. No lie. My last straw, however, was when I waited 20 minutes to get my drink. Now, again, the issue for me was not necessarily the wait. Sh** happens. What really got me hot was that maybe after 10 minutes of me just waiting at the end of bar for my drink, I noticed that folks that ordered after me were getting their drinks. Confused, I started making impatient eye-contact(I’ll admit my passive-agressiveness) with the barista making the drinks. She finally asked me what I ordered. When I explained I had an iced mocha, she(with a nasty attitude) told me that the person who took my order and wrote it down wrong(side note: my iced mocha somehow had been translated into a hot caramel something-or-the-other…no idea how or why). No apology. Ok cool. No problem. Remember, sh** happens. Since everyone who had ordered after me already got there drink, I thought the barista would try to correct the mix up and take care of my order ASAP. NOPE. I know none of you know me from the next overly preppy chick you see at starbucks, and you may think I’m exaggerating, but I SWEAR to you, the barista took my order and placed my cup AFTER10 other cups from people that had order well after I did. Am I crazy for thinking that was rude and poor customer service? Not gonna lie, it felt like the barista slapped me across the face and said«not today, b**ch. Not. Today.» So, again, no apology. I waited another 10 minutes, completely dumbfounded. I got my drink and walked out in a daze. That is until I crossed the street and looked at my watch…30 minutes had passed(10 minute wait to order and 20 minutes to actually get my drink). I was so upset, I walked back in and went straight to the register. I explained to the gentleman that I thought it was unreasonable to wait that long and to not even have been offered a «free treat» coupon starbucks usually gives when some craziness happens. The gentleman completely got it(THANKYOU!) and, with no questions or hastle, refunded the money to my card. I’m just sayin’ — check it out for yourself.

While I’m not a Starbucks lover, I received a gift card and decided to put it to use. Like most Starbuck’s the line was lengthy & the seating/standing areas were crowded w customers and their laptops & iPads(#FreeWifi) Not upset about them(caus I love my iPad too!) but this always makes Starbucks a huge clusterfuk! I enjoyed a cup of VANILLABLONDEROAST w half & half and paired it up w a slice of CLASSICCOFFEECAKE. The combination hit the spot since I was late today on my daily oatmeal breakfast. The service was good, the line moved pretty consistently and the gift card use was seamless. So overall my rating is 3 stars cause I’m not a regular for 5… Hope this is useful my fellow Unilocalers!

Once in a while, especially when the hot weather rolls in, I like to get an iced frappucino light. I’ve been to various locations in the City and all have been pretty quick with service except for this branch. The only light frappucino I saw on the wall menu was the mocha light so I ordered a venti(from the Italian translation for twenty) which is 20 oz. with organic soy milk. I waited 10 minutes for my drink. I noticed there was only 1 person making the drinks and 2 people taking orders and a line that never diminishes. The guy taking the order wasn’t the most pleasant or friendly. Many times I couldn’t hear or understand what he was saying. My mocha light frappuccino didn’t taste as good as other ones I’ve had, even when I cheated with a whipped cream on top. Frappucino left an unpleasant aftertaste and the whipped cream still didn’t melt too much so I threw out the whip and whatever was left into the waste bin. I measured it around 3″ plus left so I think I only really had a tall(small) for big venti price.

Nice layout. Clean. Open feel. I was quickly attended to by the cashier, who documented my order properly. The barista, however, did not make my drink to specs, which caused me to have to wait for it to be redone. That being said, they did ask me if I wanted whip on my soy beverage, instead of assuming I did not. Always a plus. A par for the course Starbucks experience.

This is one of the worst Starbucks known to man(er woman), oh wait, the one by Columbia Presbyterian Hospital blows too. I hate you Starbucks. You make my life miserable and yet I continue to let you have power over me. Sigh. This is just like my romantic relationships. FML. If I could give it no stars I would. Several days a week, I work closeby and this is the closest coffee bar to me that has SOY. I now cannot frequent my friendly Chinese/Turkish coffee vendor because he doesn’t have SOY. Double sigh. Everytime I come in here, there is drama. And the service is really SLOW. In the morning, time is of the essence. Ten minutes could mean ONTIME to work vs. LATE. In any case, they pissed me off this morning. I just wanted a cup of coffee with soy milk. The lady rang up a «Misto,» and I thought it was weird that a drip coffee would costs $ 3. So, I wait and wait and wait. And then I hear Misto at the counter, I go up to retrieve it and ask if it is made with SOY, and the barista looks at me blankly. Oh lord. Damn it, at this point, I have been waiting about 7 minutes. In any case, she goes to explain that misto is with steamed soy. I was like all I want is drip coffee and I can add my own SOY. If you left out some SOY at the self-service bar, we wouldn’t have this issue. Argh, I wait another 5 minutes, and then get the Misto. What a pain! And what the H is a misto? I think its a café au soy lait oui? OK, let me just stop ranting. This is why chains suck. People that work at chains are not invested in the company, they are there for the pay check. There is no incentive for good customer service. This is why those small coffee vendors on the street are so much better. They have an incentive because when you patronize them, that’s food on their table and clothes on their back. Avoid Starbucks like the plague. I think I’ll just have to bring SOY milk to work and leave it in the fridge, this kind of hassle in the morning is not worth it!

I came into this Starbucks to warm up with a nice hot latte after walking around the Financial District for hours on end this weekend. Yeah, that didn’t happen. Before I went to place my order, I swung by the bathroom. I was SO excited that there was not a line — this is totally uncharacteristic of a Starbucks that has a key-free restroom available. It was ATROCIOUS. Like, it looked like Hurricane Irene was sent to live in this bathroom for the past month. Toilet paper was ALL over the floor. And, of course, there was none to be found on the roll. The trash can was overflowing. There were smudges all over the floor — it looked as if this bathroom had never before been clean. I totally get it… cleaning up after customers suck. I know first hand — I used to work at a Starbucks. Keeping a clean store goes way beyond keeping the condiment bar tidy [which, for the record, was also a mess]. The café area, including the condiment bar and bathroom, should be checked for cleanliness every 10 minutes — it’s standard protocol for the company. I left the store right after exiting the bathroom. If the store environment is THAT unkept, how can I trust that the equipment being used to make my latte are treated any differently?

When neither a flying pebble or a pooping bird is threatening you, this Starbucks, with it’s unlocked restrooms, toilets, and toilet paper will be there for you when you need to run over from the set of the big-budget movie you’re in to take a pee(or more?), but not when you come back hours later for a costume change because it’s «Clean-up time».

For the longest time this relatively-new Starbucks wasn’t even listed on Unilocal, and in a lot of ways it really does feel like the Starbucks That Time Forgot, for better and worse. On the plus side, the outlets all work, and the place is never, ever, overrun by laptop leeches. So you can charge your device, even leech a little WiFi for yourself and not feel like you’re competing with the«pros»(the guys who bring a laptop, along with their own mouse pad, desk lamp, incense burner & file cabinet). On the flip side, the hours are sketchy – they always seem to be about to close no matter what time I show up. I guess that’s justified considering how un-busy the location is, but it’s just a weird feeling to be in a Starbucks at 6:00 at night and you’ve already overstayed your welcome. They also appear to get no love from the Starbucks Goodie Truck – most if not all the solid foods are gone and long-forgotten by the time I arrive, so if you want a cookie with your latte, you are S.O.L. Do what I do – pack a Clif Bar in your backpack.

Every time I come here they mess up my drink. The Staff are in their own worlds and almost always have an attitude. It would be so convenient to come to this location since its right outside of my office but I walk two blocks to another location since they smile and act like they like their jobs… And i used to work at this location when the store first opened… it hurts to give them this low score but if they dont get their act together with regards to the quality of their beverages and their attitudes– they arent going to have good business.
