Arguably the worst espresso I ever had in NYC. It makes Starbucks’ espresso look immaculate. It was beyond burnt and gross. This was the first time I bought a latte and just left without drinking it(close to the garbage where is belongs)! A $ 6 mistake.(oh yeah and a latte is about $ 6?!) If you like coffee, this is NOT the place for you. In addition, I asked for whatever their normal latte size and then was charged and given a double. They can’t seem to get anything right. They tried to remedy everything with a free cookie, but the coffee was so bad I thought why bother eating more from this awful place, plus my tongue was already singed. Best to avoid this place until they learn how to make coffee.

This place gets three stars for the ambiance and the customer service. I mean even their bathroom is nice and had me thinking about how I want to design mine the next time I move. The ceilings are nice, as are the walls that have pillars protruding from them. One thing I wasn’t feeling in regards to setting was the temperature. Why was it so chilly-not cool at all. The sandwich I ordered was not tasty though I love every single thing that it was made of(arugula, salmon, cucumbers, and wheat bready stuff. Though the food was very fresh, the only enjoyable portion of the meal was the mustard and I don’t even really like mustard. At least it was a healthy meal. On to the next one and off to buy something to get the taste out of my mouth, I will never return. Also, I don’t like that after you swipe your card, they give you the option to tip. Major side eye*

I went in here on a Friday afternoon and I enjoyed myself. I’m quite the coffee enthusiast so I’m very picky. I ordered a latte and my friend ordered the macchiato. It took a little bit longer than I would have expected to get our drinks, but it still didn’t take very long. The drinks were good. We were both satisfied, though not overly impressed. There’s not much to say about the coffee, which is both good and bad. It’s good because I enjoyed it, but bad because it wasn’t remarkable. It was simply good coffee. The place was a bit large and echo-y, and it felt a bit sterile, but overall I appreciated their offerings and I would probably drop by again if I was in the neighborhood.

Great cappucino, love the orange chairs, they serve lunch and soup. Friendly service, the pastries are really good too. Best coffee in New York hands down. La Colombe us second. Try it

I love the Fika on Duane Street! The coffee is always great, the staff is always warm and welcoming, and they play great music too! Sam, the manager, is great at what he does. He’s great with his customers and his staff and if he is not tending to his customers when I walk in, he is working on his laptop, organizing things in the store, or cleaning up. SyDonna is a breath of fresh air on Monday mornings and in the afternoons when I take a much-needed coffee break. And Derek is a sweetheart also(now you can stop crying Derek lol). The place is always immaculately clean. I love that they get to know their customers and they are very generous and will often treat you to a free coffee :-)! I absolutely love starting my workday mornings at MY Duane Street FIKA! The music is always soothing to my soul. I pass another FIKA on my way to work but I’m loyal to my peeps on Duane Street! Get the FIKA app and stop in for a visit for some great coffee, and wonderful personal interactions. You will NOT be disappointed. And I love their sense of humor. For the free snacks they have a sign that reads«Try me,(but don’t be greedy).» Come on, you know that’s funny. Lighten up people! Laugh — it’s good medicine.

I have not been to another coffee shop every since this place opened up near my job! Not only is the coffee GREAT, but the staff is super friendly, down to earth and all have great senses of humor. I have even had a few coffee dates here. I highly recommend :)

I’m so glad this store opened up in our neighborhood! The coffee is excellent, service amazing and the place is always spotless. I have meetings there often and eat lunch regularly. It would be a real loss to our community without it.

Great coffee and pastries. Fresh, healthy soups and salads with lots of veggie options(not many vegan choices, tho’). Friendly staff and wonderful coffee. A great option near the courts and city hall!

I really dislike giving negative reviews– but I also dislike when people are rude to me, especially when I am quite the opposite. I came here over the summer for a cappuccino and one of the staff members was pretty nasty to me– therefore, I will not be returning here. Side note, if you’re trying to joke sarcastically, you’re doing it wrong.

Great place to start your day, especially in an area with so few options. Good espresso, great breakfast options. Much needed addition to the neighborhood.

Spacious restaurant with trendy décor. Decent breakfast menu with a handful of pastry options. Chia & pumpkin oatmeal is my fav. It has almonds, apples, dried cranberries, cinnamon and brown sugar. It’s mixed with water therefore it’s pretty bland — expected from oatmeal. I add honey from their self –serve counter which transforms it to perfection. Great start to your morning. I’ve tried ‘your breakfast, your way’ and it’s okay. The mixed greens has no dressing and the eggs are nothing out of the ordinary. I’ll stick with the oatmeal. Happy dining!

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon this café — a Swedish import — situated downtown near Lower Broadway. The salmon wrap hit all the right notes, along with the accompanying savory mustard dip. The coffee was really quite good — a welcome experience in a town filled with less than stellar coffee offerings. The stark, spartan décor is, well, typically Swedish. Staff were friendly and efficient. That said, it’s a tad pricey. $ 8 for a bar of chocolate? I’ll pass, thank you very much. All in all, Fika is a refreshing new coffee/snack spot for this neck of Manhattan.

Nice coffee place very hidden in the middle of downtown. Great coffee! A nice cold brew and they have a very good decaf as well. All kinds of milks in the counter so you can make your own Latte or ice coffee. They have almond milk for me which is a plus. The pastries look good and they have sandwiches and meatballs too! The place is Swedish I think or at least is advertised as a Scandinavian coffee shop. They have several locations so enjoy your coffee in the city!

New outpost of this expanding-too-fast chain, run by a nice guy with no customers on a weekday evening for their LevelUp launch day. The biskvi($ 3+tax) was really awesome, like a mallomar from the outside but actually almond cookies and mousse in between. Transaction Amount $ 3.27 Credit Applied — $ 3.27 Total Spent $ 0.00

This area really needed a coffee shop and FIKA hits the spot! The staff are friendly and attentive, the food options are great for lunch(added bonus– they have vegetarian options). The treats are perfect for when you need something sweet and the coffee always tastes fresh. There’s also a ridiculous amount of space for a NY spot.

So stoked about this place! A new coffee place with amazingly-brewed coffee that isn’t SoHo far and steers clear from the long lines of Starbucks. Since their grand opening, they’ve provided complimentary treats and parties to taste and they are absolutely divine. Their food menu looks pretty promising so I’m definitely going to check that out! Thank you FIKA!
