Regular customer over the past nine years, love this shop. The sneaker choices feel like you are seeing exclusives you’d otherwise have to go to the outer boroughs to find. There are always ample sale items and sizes are in stock generally. Great selection of Jordans, Stan Smiths, and other currents/classics for both adults and kids. Friendly and helpful service. I am a real neighborhood person not associated with store ownership :-)

I had a good experience here. Went in, the saleswoman helped me find a pair of asics, and she also brought out some sale shoes for me to try when I asked. She knew her stock, and did a great job. I didn’t give the business 5 stars because I didn’t see prices on anything except for one pair of $ 150 shoes so it kind of discouraged browsing on my own. Whether it was the sale shoes I tried on, or the more expensive ones I bought, I had to ask the price of my shoes because I didn’t see it on the box or on the sample shoes. When I checked out, the man behind the counter working as cashier had to ask the clerk the price of shoes so he apparently didn’t have an easy way to know it either. In their defense, I will say, I came home, looked up these shoes in this exact model and couldn’t find them lower anywhere, which meant they were honest RE price. They just do things a little differently :)

I have shopped at Sprint Sports since the day it opened. The owner, Danny, and his staff are super-friendly and very knowledgeable. On occasions when I needed a certain sneaker I actually arranged for the factory to send it to Sprint Sports so they could get the business as they were so helpful to me. The staff is honest and know all the styles of shoes — their goal is to find the best fit for you for the best price. In the age of corporate huge store domination, thank God we have some small Mom and Pop stores left that know each customer personally and try to help him/her in every possible way!

Pushy salesmen. Should’ve double checked at a real Nike store but pretty sure the pair I bought here were FAKE. I returned them the next morning. I’m usually a size 7.5−8 in normal shoes and 8.5 in sneakers. The quality seemed lower(not perfect stitching and cheaper material) and they fit me like 8.5 but after I came home I realized the label read as 9.5. Women’s size 9.5. There is no way Nike would make a 9.5 like 8.5. That’s a whole size different! After I read up on Amazon, this is one of the signs for spotting fake Nike’s. They also didn’t even bother including taxes in my total. The website listed on their store bag does not exist. They give you a local deli sort of primal receipt and all their shoes had tiny stickers on them for prices. The validity of this business is very questionable.

Went to Sprint Sports again, with a specific shoe in mind,…the one I bought last time, which I wanted to replace with a new pair. Talked to owner about some misgivings about the shoe. He said he had one I’d like. He was so right. Felt better; looked fine. Bought them, really like them. Both the friendly owner and the young sales staff really try to do the right thing. Not just about money. Will be back when these shoes are kaput.

If you are at all like me and enjoy a relaxed shopping environment where you are free to browse without being constantly harassed by pushy salesmen who clearly only get paid on commission, then I would advise staying away from Sprint. Also, there are no price tags on anything for the same reason there aren’t in a jewelry store. If you express interest in a shoe and ask how much it is, I have found they give you the once over and usually quote a price at about 10% higher than retail. When you are naturally taken aback and looking for the exit, they will knock that 10% off so that they can pretend they are giving you a «deal» to keep you in the store. Oh yea, and their sneaker selection is average at best. Help maintain a business ethics standard in NYC by not doing business with Sprint.
