Modell’s Sporting Goods

Good enough. I think they have almost all sporting accessories (at least of all I play). But I reduced a star just because they have few stuffs only of selected brands. But a good store close to my house and quality products. So, Yay! I’m a fan.

Good store if in the neighborhood and need some sporting goods gear!

Good selection of sports material, but you need to know what need, do not expect help from the staff, very bad customer service.

Let me start off by saying that I wanted to love this store but they really need a new model if they are to survive. There’s no way they will stay in business based the low traffic. I came in to look for running shorts… and I kid you not… they don’t carry them. They have tons of cross training or basketball shorts but no running shorts. The staff here very friend but young and never even heard of running shorts.
I’m glad there’s finally a sporting good store on the upper west side but if they are too really complete with the niketown or adidas of the world, they need to step it up a bit.

I bought some soccer gear here, and it seemed like this location doesn’t take customer service seriously. The staff, while not busy, appeared uninterested in helping customers (not just me). Their products aren’t displayed in a self-​serve way, so if you’re looking for an item, you have to subject yourself to running around to find someone for help.
Overpriced, unhelpful, and always out of stock. You’re better off going to Niketown or Sports Authority.

Great hidden gem in Columbus Square. It’s a really great shopping area and it’s hardly ever packed. The Modell’s is the best because it’s huge and there’s never many people there. They have pretty good deals and good quality stuff but it’s like any other Modell’s just without the crowd. Very clean place also and a good selection.
Overall I’ll be back if I need anything from Modell’s because this location is sure to have it.

This Modell’s was pretty disappointing. The three people I interacted with did not show and enthusiasm and were barely helpful. The changing rooms are tiny and grimy. Ultimately, I found a top I would have purchased, but I didn’t even want to patronize this store.

A standard Modells that’s part of the new Columbus Square development. Modells is great for certain things, and this Modells is no exception. If you’re looking for a cheap, dependable new pair of boots, Modells is great. The baseball gear selection is good if you’re a little leaguer or an intermediate level player, but for the advanced ball player, you’ll get better selection and better deals on the internet. Other than that, standard hoody, jeans, and jersey selection with knowledgeable and friendly employees.

Beware… the online store has nothing to do with the brick & mortar locations. I give the manager Mike a HUGE kudos for saving the day. Went to the store with my wife to return some boxing gloves. She purchased multiple pairs online not sure which one I would like as a gift. The customer rep of the online store told her that as long as the store sells what she is buying (which they do), returns won’t be a problem… wrong. The packing slip did not specify a credit card # on it which seemed to throw a wrench into their whole return policy. Thankfully Mike (one of the senior managers, possibly the store manager) stepped in (the item does only cost $ 30) and let us just make the return. Though it did take a solid 20 minutes to get to that step I am grateful that someone was able to look past the ridiculous policy in place (his assistant Mark certainly couldn’t seem to make the decision) and allow us to make the return. Aggravating but in the end a person in charge did come through.

Came here yesterday because I lost one of my workout gloves in the bathroom at a bar (I was a chilean miner for halloween and decided to use my gloves to make myslef look more like an industrial worker).
Was greeted by friendly hellos when I walked in. Prices are actually not too marked up and they even helped me pick a suede/​nubuck fabric cleaner for my shoes!
