Spot Fine Dry Cleaning & Tailoring

I brought a shirt with a noticeable stain on it to spot because the place received great reviews. However, I had a less than pleasant experience. When I brought it there, the owner asked if I wanted it just washed or dry cleaned. I asked for a suggestion since I’m clearly not an expert on fabrics and cleaning methods, and he said dry cleaning would better at getting the stain removed. Dry cleaning was $ 8 and washing was $ 1.50. I followed his suggestion and paid for the dry cleaning, but was thoroughly disappointed when I went back to pick it up today. The stain is STILL there, just ask dark and noticeable as when I had dropped it off. All the guy said was — that was the best we could do and there was no guarantee. No offer to compensate me for paying more than five times as much as just getting it regularly washed, nothing. Bad business move. Why bother calling your store Spot when you can’t even remove a spot on a shirt? What a waste of my money…

the store is always «spotless» and tidy. the owner is quite friendly and knows who you are when you enter. $ 1.50 for machine-​pressed shirts on a hanger can’t be beat. I shopped around for better pricing and all-​in-​all Spot’s as cheap or cheaper than all the others in the area if you’re looking for one cleaner to do men’s and women’s clothing regularly. they offer free delivery and return your clothes within 2 – 3 days. I’ve also had minor repairs made and have been pleased with the results. Spot has never lost or ruined anything to date. One time I received a 25% discount on a $ 75 bill for «customer loyalty» or something. How about that?

This is definitively the «upscale» dry cleaner; Spot does a very good job and presents a very good image; the space is immaculate and spacious– kind of museum-​like. They are very friendly and have done a very good job with my clothes.

I had a white blouse that had a horrible black ink stain on the sleeve (always keep your pens capped when you’re trying to take a nap on your desk!!) I gave it to Spot over my local guy because they look like they know what they’re doing, and I was sooo surprised! It’s like it never existed!
Usually, if it’s a bad stain, I see traces of it left, but these guys must really know what they’re doing. I couldn’t even tell where the stain was before!
For $ 20, they absolutely saved my $ 150 blouse!

i’m a bit wary of sending out my laundry since you never know how it’ll come back (if it does!). but after i moved to my new ‘hood, the nearest laundromats are a bit of a trek and i don’t have 4 – 5 spare hours that often to do just laundry. luckily, spot is just downstairs and their laundry service has been excellent so far. everything comes back clean, and i haven’t had any issues with missing socks or bleeding colors etc.
it is on the pricier side, so i tend to go when i have these coupons i get in the val-​pak mailers, but even without them i’d still go for the convenience, service and cleanliness of the place. they have another location in gramercy, but obviously that’s further away from me ;)
