I LOVE the Siamese Fried Rice with an order of Shrimp Fritters. Tasty and addicting. Keeps me coming back for more.

I wish I could give them no star at all. I ordered the lunch special, spring roll & chicken fried rice. They brought me cold spring rolls. It wasn’t crispy nor hot. I’m 99.9% sure they cooked it in the morning and microwaved for like 20seconds when I ordered it. I sent it back and they brought it again. No apology. Main dish took 20 mins and they gave me pad thai. I ordered fried rice. I told them I ordered chicken fried rice and they were like«oh, right». It took them another 25mins to bring out the right dish and again, no apology. The crazy part was that I was the only one there. It was empty! They weren’t even busy!!! So I had to wait for my food for 45mins and they gave me either wrong food or shitty food. Oh and also no apology whatsoever. Horrible food. Horrible service. Don’t go there. No wonder why it was so empty.

Friends and I ordered delivery while at work. The 15 or so meals arrived within 1 hour and were pretty tasty. Many of the lunch specials were served with a free appetizer. I ordered the Basil Wok dosh that had chicken, onions, peppers, and thai basil. It was very tasty! The soup, which was a type of tom yum was good, but had too much seafood. I like, but don’t love squid. Can’t fault them for that. The prices are typical for NYC.

Good service! Nice lighting and amazing menu. Good options for vegetarians like me! Not sure if it’s authentic Thai but would definitely recommend to others!

Just ordered $ 50 worth of food, everything was great except the old duck I received for my salad. :/I’d prefer you just not charge me for meat than I can’t even chew !

Came here once for dinner. It was surprisingly empty but the food was great! I ordered pineapple fried rice and I can’t stop thinking about it. The tofu was amazing. It wasn’t deep fried like most places, which I hate because it’s so oily and spongy. Their tofu was the perfect texture and steamed. It was the perfect portion size. Yum! I can’t comment on any other dishes from here but I would order takeout. Ambiance was mediocre at best, but the food was worth it.

When I first came here, I loved it! — First of all, their lunch special is the best part of this place! Good portions. Comes with an appetizer and an entrée for a price that ranges from $ 7−9ish. — Secondly, their shrimp fritters as a appetizer is the highly recommended. The sweet chili sauce that comes with it is the best! I tried other appetizers in other places like UpThai and I found myself craving the shrimp fritters from here. Another good option for appetizer would be the spring rolls/dumplings. Of course, as a Thai place, I would recommend Pad Thai w. Chicken/Beef/etc. as a go-to dish. (Although if you get the shrimp fritters sauce and pad thai, it can be a bit sweet) And lastly, I usually get it to go, which seems like a better option. I’ve sat at the restaurant and you do have to pay tip and the waiter service can be a bit slow. The wait for the food can be quite long or quick depending on the hour. I remember that I came around noon and my wait was about 20 – 30 min. They do take reservations, so that may be a better option if you are busy and can’t afford to waste that time.

Not sure why the ratings for this place is so low. Spice was one of the popular Thai chains in NYC years ago for the millennials. I’m not sure what happened since then, maybe we became inundated with the variety of restaurants that are out there, we became snobby. Spice is a decent go-to restaurant for some clean, filling food at a higher price than other local Thai restaurants. But, at least they’re consistent. There isn’t anything special about Spice that you can’t find at other restaurants. Come for some quick, hot, Thai food and you’ll be surprised.

Had the vegetarian mock duck for the first time and it was very good. Would recommend it those who are vegetarians or wanted to try this dish

Whatever you do, don’t order online off their website. Too much to ask them to take responsibility if their website links to some 3rd-party system(simplemenu) — too much to ask for food to be made if you receive an Order Placed screen. They think it’s ok to say well, we didn’t get the fax and quizzically wonder why you are asking them to say sorry.

I was surprised by the poor star rating this place got. Spice is one of my favorite restaurants, and I couldn’t believe any location could suck. Well, I was wrong. I agree with a majority of these reviews — mainly the negative ones. The service was not good — took a solid amount of time for someone to approach my table and take my order, no one asked me how my meal was(it was bland), and they added a totally undeserved 18% tip to my bill. I ordered one if my favorite dishes, the green curry fried rice. The moment it came — in record time — I knew I was in for disappointment. It looked like the color had been drained from the dish and with it went the flavor. It wasn’t spicey in the slightest, and although I was still hungry, j couldn’t bring myself to keep eating. I will continue to hold Spice in high regard, but this location goes on my Do-Not-Enter list.

Thai food is remarkably my second favorite Asian food. It’s second only to Korean food. I’ve eaten at quite a few Thai restaurants in NYC but Spice Thai restaurant is no doubt one of my favorites hence why I’ve eaten here more than once. Their black noodles’ dish is the best I’ve eaten so far. Although, it tasted much better my first time eating it here. I’ve always had this imagery of black noodles being actually black until I found Spice Thai. The dish was well cooked and flavored. The only downside was that it wasn’t spicy enough for me. I sat at the bar so there wasn’t much into the service but it was good all the same. I recommend this place to anyone looking to try a good Thai food. Price is very reasonable and they have nice selection of drinks.

What I’ve tried: various appetizers, drunk man noodles, pad thai, fried rice, thai iced tea Tip: Go for the lunch special! Great price and great portions– entrée comes with your choice of appetizer. Story: I’ve been to both the UES and the union square locations of Spice. I didn’t expect much, but I actually really like it. The drunk man noodles have amazing flavor and balanced spice. I definitely prefer this dish to the pad thai at this restaurant. For eat-in, the union square location has a darker and more festive atmosphere. The UES restaurant is smaller and lighter, but is also fine for dining in. However, I prefer to get takeout from here.

I’ve been to at least three Spice’s in the city. So sad that they don’t have a ‘real’ pad see eew dish, but have drunkman noodles and broad black noodles to kind of make up for it. But it’s just so basic(don’t know what other term to use). Their lunch specials are pretty good, coming with an appetizer. Their golden shrimp fritters are definitely worth trying, the only thing I think.

Let’s start with the service, one word: Mediocre. Several items on the menu were not available. I think this is one of the only authentic Thai thing about this place: if they don’t feel like preparing or mixing it for you or they didn’t like you, your kids or whatever you are wearing, they say«Sorry we changed menu and no longer available» we agreed with our friends, after living in Bangkok for severeal years that that kind of attitude was an unfortunate norm when dealing with Thai restaurants. The food, wasn’t anything to write home about, bland, lacking the potency of spices and tipocal flavors so prominents in Thai cuisine! They were aware of a GLUTENFREE diet and nobody got sick, that’s a good thing. One of my favorite dishes is Panang sauce, I ordered… It was a bowl of liquity sauce, a bit more liquid(water probably) and you could see through it. Lacke the creaminess of the coconut cream present on this regional dish; a true disappointment! Others got their Pad Thai and were borderline content with it, also nothing impressive, just not bad tasting and not overcooked but bland. This is a chain of restaurants, will I try it sgain on on another location? Absolutely not! Don’t do what we did, do yourself a favor and take a cab and go to the East Village and try the best Thai in Manhattan Zabb Elee 752nd Ave NY10003!

Yep best Pad Thai in the world!(Been to hundreds of locations) this one tops them all! Red Curry & Panang curry are equally amazing and consistent! We order here 3 times a week and are always surprised on how amazing this place is. I haven’t been to the other locations but this one is special. Trying something new this time.

Here to include a link to UpThai: I have been there at least 4x. Service is great. I was relieved to learn that Thai people actually can smile and be pleasant, warm, welcoming and prepare excellent food. The mock duck is outstanding. They use less sugar and more spice than Spice, ironic.

A nice lunch spot I come here quite often for lunch and I highly recommend it(this place actually deserves 3.5 stars). The lunch special comes with an appetizer and an entrée. I recommend getting the duck fritters or the yum tum soup, which ALWAYS has exactly two shrimps for the appetizer. Also, there is a huge selection of entrees that one can select from. The seafood rice bowl is very delicious with large pieces of fish and other nautical creatures. The drunk noodles can be hit or miss(sometimes they can be a little greasy). The food comes out in HUGE portions for the price. The bad thing about this place is the service can be a bit of a struggle sometimes. The place usually has one waiter during lunch and he/she also is the bartender. There is a woman who is always at the computer but I really do not know what her function is. All in all this is a decent place with decent prices on the UES and you should give it a shot.

Food was good until, I found a hair in my curry. Then I found a hair in the extra rice I got to. Will not order again. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

DELIVERYONLY: I’ve ordered with my fine office mates from this location many a time, and despite the average wait of an hour or so, the food comes hot and it’s pretty delicious. A lunch special entrée costs around $ 10, on average, with a sizable list of appetizers to choose from, be it a green salad, spring rolls, or a duck wrap. The Chicken Pad Thai is decent, and, thankfully, lighter on the sauces than some other Thai places. The green salad is passable, though the dressing is a little too sweet for my tastes. A-OK, indeed. No major complaints from a delivered lunch point of view.
