This place is pretty amazing. Cozy and comfortable, with fresh pasta, clean flavors, and friendly service and prices. Their to-go cases remind me of this amazing pasta place I went to in Venice, so just a few bonus points on that for nostalgia :) I would definitely come back again to try something else!

Who doesn’t love spaghetti. These people were smart to dedicate their restaurant to the dish. Cute space(small), nice waitstaff. Be prepared to wait for a table(they don’t take reservations for small parties). We loved the Chitarra and would definitely order it again. We didn’t like the Bucatini in Kale Pesto as much because the kale was a little too overpowering. I would’ve preferred a more traditional pesto, but kudos on the creativity.

My husband and I started with arancini. One Ragu another pesto. These are deep fried rice balls. They came with a marinara dip and were very delicious. For our main dishes we shared the Bucatini in Kale Pesto and the Ragu bolognese. I was not to happy with the Kale Pesto. It was bitter. The Ragu was scrumptious. The kale dish was my fault though. I thought the kale was just an addition to basil pesto. I was wrong it’s just the kale. If you’re a kale lover you might like this. The place is quite tiny but quaint and the service was excellent. We will be back but no kale for me next time.

This is my go to pasta place that is around the corner for my bfs place when we feel like having pasta with excellent, fast service at a reasonable cost! My recommendations are: Chittara, Bucattini Trevigiana, or the Ragu Bolonese, and the Mango and avocado salad. They also have an express window if you don’t feel like sitting down in the restaurant.

Small, cozy restaurant with friendly non-pushy vibes. Went with one friend(no wait but it was the night before the blizzard?) and we shared two rice balls(one of the cheesy specials and the green peas with mozzarella), the cabin salad(asparagus, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese I think, and maybe arugula greens — can’t remember), the Chattira spaghetti, and the panna cotta. The rice ball special was amazing. There were two but I can’t remember which one was this one. It was cheesy with some kind of green veg in it, maybe basil or something else. It was very delicious. I wasn’t as fond of the green pea one as it wasn’t quite as exploding with flavor in my mouth, and I didn’t get the gooey cheesy melt in your mouth feeling with the green pea rice ball as I did with the special. This all sounds very wrong, I know. All the salads sounded great, but we just decided to go with the Cabin. It was refreshing and delicious. I really liked the light dressing and the cheese solidified the salad for me. For the spaghetti we wanted to choose one of the house made items, and went with the first choice on the list which was a red sauce with basil? I liked the texture of the noodles. It had a nice stretchy and light feel to it. The sauce is more on the thicker side. It was good, but I don’t think the sauce was the best I’ve had? For dessert, we went with the panna cotta. It came with an odd green jello-looking top layer to it. Threw me off a little, but honestly I don’t think it was necessary? The panna cotta would have still been good without it. I liked it. I also got the cappuccino, which was very good too. Overall the cost was affordable and the meal was satisfying. Our host was very gracious and did not push us or constantly intrude on our meal. I would come back gladly!

I think this is the best spot for a tasty original spaghetti dish. The prices are affordable, it’s cheap actually. I suggest to visit this amazing and friendly restaurant, carbonara and trevigiana are awesome! Now they are open for brunch too.

Spaghetti Incident was indeed a nice little find in the LES neighborhood. Post a movie at the Sunshine Cinemas only a block away, we decided to check out the spot for some good old spaghetti. We were also intrigued by their name, which is rightly so from a Guns n Roses album. There really is no strong correlation, but one should be prepared for a mighty delicious meal here. The restaurant is cute, cozy and truly intimate. Not large, but it accommodates a comfortable amount of people. At 7:30PM on a Saturday, there was no wait, so we were promply seated with the choice of sitting at the bar counter or a table. We decided to sit at the bar though to view some of the action at the kitchen. The service here was overall very friendly and issues-free. For our meal, we decided to share two Arancini rice balls, namely the peas and the pesto with gorgonzola filling. For main dish, we each ordered from their specials menu, the Spaghetti and Meatballs served in Grandma’s secret recipe sauce. We thought the rice balls were great, and I believe it was my date’s first time having an arancini rice ball. It is a nice appetizer, and somewhat light considering; Arancini rice balls are essentially stuffed rice balls, coated in breadcrumbs. Regarding entrée, the Spaghetti and Meatballs was great. The spaghetti was nicely cooked. The meatballs were delicious. They give four with this dish. The sauce was a really nice marinara but with a bit of creaminess and sweetness. We picked up on some basil and onion flavors. Overall, I was impressed by the food. Quite satisfying and filling without being over the top fancy Italian. These are simple Italian dishes that are maybe a notch above most. In comparison to some other spots I’ve tried, which are more/less similar to this, I would say I liked the food here better. Note it is cash only though.

My partner and I initially wanted to check this place out as it shares its name with a Guns n Roses album, and I am so glad we did! Unlike the Gunners album, this restaurant definitely delivered in all aspects. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, explaining menu options and even accommodating to our vegetarian requests. We ordered three arancini to start, and they were delicious. We had: The goat’s cheese and beet, the pea and mozzarella, as well as the artichoke and cheese. All mouthwatering and cooked really well(perfecting arancini is a skill, so I am told by my Italian friends!) Onto the mains: I had the Putanesca(sans anchovies) which was up there with the best putanesca i have ever had. It was sweet, balsamic-y and overall rich in flavour, I would say they nailed it. My partner had their popular Chitarra which is essentially a Napoli sauce, but with a bit more finesse. It came with generous chunks of fresh cut tomato and mozzarella, which melted through the sauce perfectly. Top top it off they were generous with their servings of crusty rustic bread to mop up the sauces, and the sweet red wine really capped the meal well. The prices were even sweeter than dessert! For our entrée, main, a wine and a beer it only cost $ 45(plus tip, which we did generously given the level of service and deliciousness).

It’s so hard to find good pasta. I came here on a Saturday night as a party of 3 and we were seated at the bar. For any party bigger than 3 – 4, I would recommend calling ahead to make reservations because the restaurant is sized on the smaller side. I ordered the Chitarra, which was one of the three restaurant’s homemade pasta dishes. My friends ordered the Carbonara and Salsiccia e Broccoli(sausage & broccoli). After the first bite of my dish, I could just taste the difference in the noodles and it was good. The texture difference was even more apparent when we were trying each other’s dishes. The Carbonara is extremely creamy, so it’s quite heavy. The Salsiccia e Broccoli was really good too and much more light compared to the carbonara, but it was flavorful thanks to the sausage. I liked my dish the most because I loved the fresh little lumps of mozzarella, some of it even melted from the heat of the pasta, and it provided the right amount of cheesiness. The tomato sauce was fresh and light, tasted homemade as well. It was delicious. The dishes itself are decently priced, but their portions reminds me of European portions. The portions are just enough to fill you up, but not make you extremely full. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you’re extremely hungry.

I can only wish I live near this wonderful restaurant. This is where you get serious about your serving of spaghetti. The space is moderate in size but seating is small consistent with most restaurants in the area. There is a choice to sit at the bar where you can observe the kitchen staff prepare food. A complimentary, small basket of bread will be served after your table’s order is with the waiter/waitress. I had the first item on the menu«Chitarra» which is really a simple spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil but taken to a whole new level. Every bite was about the freshness of its essential ingredients: pasta, homemade mozzarella, and chopped tomatoes. I’d definitely recommend it. I had a spoonful of my friend’s «Salsiccia e Broccoli» which was wholesomely delicious. It was made with white wine sauce, and it had bits of Italian sausage and broccoli rabe. You can barely taste any broccoli(for those who are not fans of broccoli). I’d be interested in trying every pasta dish on their shortlist.

I first heard about Spaghetti Incident thanks to Robert Sietsema’s feature on the then-newly opened restaurant [1]. As a fan of Malatesta and Italian cuisine as a whole, it was only a matter of time before I made a visit. After an afternoon of wandering through the Lower East Side, a good friend and I stopped in for an early weekend dinner. It’s an easy entrance to pass by, but the restaurant is deceptively spacious and its well-windowed front makes the venue appear larger, especially during the earlier hours. Seating consists mostly of two-tops and a few bar stools against the counter, so small groups and lone diners can be accommodated. The menu is short and sweet; there’s a few options for starters and smaller plates, but the star of the show is clearly the pasta. There’s a solid range, with variation in pasta types, sauces, and proteins that’ll suit almost any taste. Also noteworthy is the fact that there’s at least one or two options that will consist of freshly made pasta — an easy choice for those who can appreciate the difference. We started off with a sampling of the Arancini, which are available with one of three fillings. The Green Peas and Mozzarella are the simplest variation, filled with savory peas made decadent by the melted mozzarella cheese, and the Beef Ragu are a heartier step up for the non-vegetarians. Each arancini was executed to the tee, with a crisp, well-seasoned crust that encased a piping hot shell of arborio rice. For the carb-conscious, there’s also a few salads that would make for a lighter starter… but why on earth are you in an Italian restaurant to begin with? As for the pasta, I went with the simple Spaghetti Bolognese, which consists of a portion of al dente spaghetti topped with a robust beef ragu. This plate is the kind that truly highlights how and why the simplest dishes are sometimes the best; the pasta had just the right amount of bite, and was perfectly coated in the savory, slightly tart, ragu sauce. A sprinkling of Parmesan cheese with a few spins of cracked black pepper, and all the components come together in a complete bite. While I can’t speak to the execution of their signature concept of serving pasta in a cone, I can say that Spaghetti Incident has no need for such a hook to draw diners in. Simple, well-executed fare that’s served in a comfortable setting is more than enough to foretell the success of this restaurant. – [1]

Been here saturday night with 2 friends. I tried to make reservations for 3 people but they don’t take reservations for small groups. We waited for atleast an hour to get a table. I had high expectations for this place since it has good reviews on Unilocal.I’m really excited to try it. We got seated & the server is friendly. He gave us a free bread & water to start up. My friend oder cappucino for drink at it was good. We ordered 3 different rice balls for appetizer– green peas, homemade mozarella, beef ragu & the selected crab meat & imported italian fontina. It taste decent for a rice balls. For our main dish I order the homemade spinach fettuccine & my friends order the squid ink pasta seafood & the meatballs spaghetti. My food taste very creamy & the cream is kinda thick. I tried my friend’s food too. The squid ink taste like regular squid ink from other reataurants. The meatballs spaghetti sauce is too sour but the meatballs is good. All in all this place is decent but not the best of everything. I’m still happy I tried it.

The homemade pastas are REALLY delicious. I came here for dinner with a group of friends last night. We ordered a bunch of different pastas, but I have to say that the Chitarra was REALLYGREAT. The spaghetti noodles are chewy but not soft. You can really tell they make their pastas in house and put a lot of care into it. The mozzarella was great. Food was authentic. Space was cozy. This place is CASHONLY, so don’t forget to visit an ATM.

Got my spaghetti to go only because of the cone, really. I was afraid that the portion was going to be smaller because the cone seemed a little small, but let’s say I was bloated by the end of my meal. I got the salmon one with handmade pasta, and it didn’t disappoint! The asparagus was cooked just right and the sauce wasn’t too salty or creamy. Would definitely come back here again. PS: if you don’t mind walking, you can get your spaghetti and head to Washington square park to enjoy your spaghetti(:

The cone container hype is real! My girlfriend and I ordered two spaghetti’s to go, and hopped off to Washington Square park to eat. The spaghetti was pretty good, I only wish I didn’t see how unhygienic the head chef was. (He chopped asparagus without gloves, and ate the leftover by placing his entire finger in his mouth then scratched his head and continues cooking) However, I don’t know why no one else has adopted this concept for to-go spaghetti yet, because it’s pretty cool.

My friend wanted to try this place out because she loved the cone to-go containers. We opted to dine in inside. Apparently, two of the pasta dishes are homemade noodles, the items with the asterisks next to them. We had a party of four and decided to share so we picked the chattari, salmon and aspargi, buccatini trevigiana and sausage and brocolli rabe(a special). We also shared the kale salad that came with shrimp. The portions looked small but they are very filling. We loved the dressing on the salad, almost gingery. It really helped mask the strong, tough taste of kale. We all enjoyed the chattari and the salmon aspargi. I tend to like pastas with a cream sauce so the latter, to me, tasted really good. The buccatini was way too al dente: it looked and tasted like it was barely cooked. It was a bad spaghetti incident, harhar. For a place that only has a handful of pasta dishes, they should be getting that right. After we finished eating, our waiter seemed too anxious to clear our plates. I think I would only come back on a rare chance to have that salmon pasta.

Saw this from Business Insider and was actually interested in the pasta to go in that cool cone. However, we opted to dine in. The Good — inexpensive. Two fried rice balls, two pastas came out to only $ 34. The Bad — the rice ball weren’t that great and for almost $ 4 a pop, felt it wasn’t worth it. The texture and chew of the fresh spaghetti was good, but the dishes themselves didn’t provide a lasting impression. Nothing to complain about but nothing to write home either. Salmon and asparagus needed salt desperately. The Ugly — nothing too ugly besides the fact there was no AC. The windows were open to let the occasional breeze in. However, I was too hot and uncomfortable to enjoy the food.

It doesn’t get any cooler than the name or the joint or the chef & staff on the LES. I was so stoked to eat here & the food was out of this world, but the bread was a confusing ” incident.” It arrives looking all rustic with olive oil, but it was not fresh– I was baffled cause the start of every good Italian meal is good bread & there is amazing bread in NYC at this moment– oh well. Ate: Spaghetti alla chi tara Artichoke arrancini The homemade spaghetti with chopped tomatoes was freakin’ ridiculous, juicy with fresh mozzarella & basil– truly great and appealed to all I love about the comfort of pasta. The saffron flour rice balls were quite good, but that pasta– please sir I want some more.
