What a great place! Super chill, great vibes. Great cigars. Love the touch of old school. Nothing bad to say!

This was my first experience at a cigar bar. I had an awesome time. Nicole our server was very friendly and didn’t make us feel bad for not knowing what the hell to do. LOL! Plenty of seating, food and drink! The crowd was friendly and the place is well ventilated. It’s still smoky BUT it’s not unbearable. I was there to celebrate my birthday as were other patrons so it’s a great place to celebrate your birthday. I had a grand time!

I’m not into Cigars and this was my first time actually experiencing a Cigar bar. My review is for service, atmosphere, and drinks. I came here for a friends birthday. My group was treated exceptionally well. Our waitress Nicole checked on us often and was very welcoming and charming. The drinks and cigars were served quickly. If you enjoy cigars and don’t mind the smell this should be the place for you. They do have a large selection of all kinds. My friends defnieitly enjoyed.

Wow! What a great find. The service is impeccable and the décor is one of a kind. All sorts of liquor with a fully stocked bar… AND I get to smoke. Awesome.

Basically just a bar where you could smoke(which is already something great). Good choice of spirits and the cigars are not too expensive. Overall a laid back experience that could have been enhanced if the place was a little more comfy, but I would definitely go back if I am around and looking for a place to have a stogie.

This 1920 Art Deco adorned lounge offers a Full Bar including a moderate list of fine whiskeys, scotches, and rums as well as an impressive array of signature drinks including Sazerac, martinis and champagne cocktails(All at typical Manhattan prices). Their sexy chic Food menu includes a variety of eclectic small plates that look as good as they taste. They offer a selective list of fine commercially available cigars(at Manhattan bar markup of course) or if cigars aren’t your thing they maintain an extensive list of specialty cigarettes. If you’d prefer to smoke something not available on their menu, for a very reasonable $ 5 cutting fee you can bring your own. All of which you can enjoy until 4am Thursday-Saturday or 3am any other day. When my Fiancée and I walked into Circa Tobac at about midnight on a Saturday night, we instantly fell in love. The vibe was chill, romantically lit with a mellow mix of underground and top 40 music adding to the mood. The crowd was mixed 30’s and 40’s men and women, ranging from hipsters to «Sex and the City» filling 90% of the tables/bar seats without leaving a single uncomfortable standee, striking that perfect balance between desolate and overcrowded. We scanned the«Rat Pack» meets modern cocktail lounge décor as we strolled to an available booth/table against the wall toward the middle of the room. Shortly after we settled in comfortably, we were greeted by our friendly but not overbearing server Nicky or Nikki(unsure of spelling). We inquired about smoking our own cigars and the cutting fee, which she happily confirmed without the slightest bit of condescension or asking to see what cigars we were planning on smoking(I happen to prefer cigars not available for purchase in the U. S if you catch my drift). Nicky was ontop of our drinks the whole night without being pushy or annoying. She was great at making conversation where appropriate without stealing too much of our alone time or interrupting us. We really took in the atmosphere, enjoying the ambience, music, drinks and of course our cigars!!! At one point I ordered a Sazerac(a New Orleans classic) and made slight mention of the fact that my Fiancée and I plan on getting married in New Orleans next year to which she congratulated us and commended us on our decision. Hours later, shortly after we asked for our bill, the Frank Sinatra song«Love and Marriage» began playing and out walked Nicky carrying a molten chocolate brownie with a sparkling firework erupting from the center and 2 delicious shots publicly declaring congratulations to us for our upcoming nuptials with a giant grin on her face! We got the bill and they didn’t even charge us the cutting fees. Nicky and Circa Tabac truly made us feel at home, definitely the highlight of our trip!!!

A friend and I went to have a pipe and a few drinks here after work recently. We chose this place as the New York Pipe Club often holds its meetings here. Being a pipe smoker in a cigar bar is always an interesting experience. The stogie chomping bro-suit clones never quite know what to make of you and eye you warily, like they can’t decide if they want to be you, or beat you up. This place made me a damn good Old Fashioned, had great service, and was very nice about waiving the cutting fee since we spent over $ 25 on drinks. What wasn’t so great was the ventilation system. It was extremely smokey. They have big bay windows, but they’re covered by curtains. The windows just seemed to blow the smoke towards the center of the bar rather than clear the air. It was hard to enjoy a pipe with so much other smoke in the air. I wouldn’t want to smoke a good cigar there either. Had the ventilation been better, we would have stayed longer. Carnegie Club, while more expensive and pompous, is a better choice for a place to enjoy a drink and tobacco.

What a great place to sit down, relax and enjoy a cigar or a drink or something to eat or all three at the same time! There aren’t too many places left in New York where this is possible sadly. Excellent selection of whiskey and cigars. Big tables and plenty of comfortable seats. The service was very good. If you love cigars and whiskey this is the place for you.

I’m going to start this review with telling you that I know absolutely nothing about cigars except that I like to smoke one every once in a while. The ambience of this place is good, old school pictures of the Rat Pack on the wall, good music playing and a nice comfortable booth to sit in. The ventilation, not so good. The place was crowded and it’s winter so there are no windows to be opened. The ceilings are somewhat low and that helps trap the smoke too. They need more powerful ventilation units in my opinion. I’ve been to other cigar bars where the smoke immediately disappears, never to be seen nor smelled. This is not one of those places. The drink menu is your typical cigar bar menu, heavy on the brown spirits and priced higher than a normal bar. My friend had the Springtime in Paris cocktail and didn’t really enjoy it. I stuck to cognac and my other friend to scotch, both were priced a few bucks higher than I thought they should be. Like myself, my friends are not cigar aficionados, so we explained that to the waitress, whom was excellent, and told her that we would like a lighter cigar. She suggested one of the cigars from the house brand. I don’t really know how to describe cigars properly so I’ll say it was what she described it as and it was for the most part an easy smoking cigar that lasted I’d would say a good half hour while puffing away. My complaints with this place are the prices, all a couple of dollars higher than I believe they should be and the sub-par ventilation. But if you’re looking for a cigar bar that’s not in Midtown or the UES, this is pretty much your only choice and really it’s not a bad choice at all.

On vacay in the NYC in search for a great cigar lounge, this reviewer was attracted to the Soho Cigar Bar’s positive Unilocal reviews. In need for a nice pairing I selected from the menu of pairings whose price reflects the 10013. The wrap on the house blend torpedo frayed when cut with a supplied dull straight cutter. I found the very dim lights a useful aid in concealing my embarrassment of my unraveling wrap. Bailing after 60 minutes minus $ 80 and needing a dry clean of my suit.

Came here last year for my birthday with a few people and I had a blast. The big open windows and comfy sitting area made for a great experience. I would love to come again with my girlfriend who enjoys a cigar every once and a while and have a nice relaxed date night.

The Cigar Bar You’ve Always Wanted This cigar bar has it all from great cigars, ambiance, and drinks. I met up with a buddy here on his recommendation and I was happy he picked it out. We got a seat right at the bar ordered a whisky on the rocks, fries, and a mild cigar. The vibe here is very mellow and low key and you don’t have to worry about music or a tv blasting while you enjoy your cigar just some great tunes. The bar tenders were extremely friendly and one had an amazing mustache.

This was the best cigar bar I’ve been to. Plenty of space, and plenty of TV’s to catch a game comfortably. The service was fantastic by the way, my server was polite and very attentive. If you want a good smoke, and a great atmosphere, this is the place to go to.

The atmosphere was great! Ventilation was outstanding, along with a great selection of cigars and whiskey. Music and food was ok. I highly recommend this for newbies and couples just beginning to smoke!

Nice place to chill, relax, and have a conversation with your party. The place’s ambiance is great. Nice décor. The seating is comfortable, not the best. The noise level is good. You can have a conversation with your party without the need of yelling and not being able to hear anything. I am not a cigar expert as this is my second time in life smoking a cigar, but the cigar that I tried(Matador) was good. I had it with Hibiki 12 yrs. The combination of both was excellent. I greatly recommend this place to have business conversation, to hangout, and/or to chill. The only con is that by the end of the night my clothes smelled. So beware of your clothing when hanging out at this place!

came here to celebrate my bachelors party and got a great experience by the staff all around. SoHo Cigar bar sectioned off a big block of chairs & tables for us & me and my entire group all had a blast. its tough anywhere in NYC to accommodate a group of 25 but some how they were able to do it — thank you! We each had a specialty cigar & paired it with a nice glass of whiskey. I choose the old fashioned(but of course!) which totally pared nice with my cigar. Half way thru the hostess came out with a huge sparkler sticking out of a chocolate lava cake, which totally made me feel as if i was celebrating, Las Vegas style! very nice touch! I also was presented a complementary cigar & cutter while«Love & Marriage» blasted in the background ha ! total man cave inside with flat screens to watch the big game, if your in the mood for some nice Bourbon & cigars Def come check this place out!

I’ve been here a couple of times and cannot think of one complaint. My favorite pairing is a dogfish with a la pluma cigar; check out my photo. Prices for cigars seems reasonable and worth the price in my opinion. There is a wide liquor selection and lots of options for scotch or cognac if that is what you enjoy. Décor is nice here and very laid back. Another plus is there seems to always be parking somewhere around there and close to the holland tunnel and mamouns for a late night meal. Never tried the food here but seems to pricey: come on 8 $ for edamame.

Came here a few weeks ago(then again this past Saturday) with a couple of friends and I’m not a big cigar smoker so I had my doubts at first. I decided to give it a go and boy was I glad I did! Place has dim lights, very spacious and the windows stay wide opened so you never full like you’re stuck in a smoking chamber. The place gives off a roaring 20’s/30’s feel. A «mad man» look if you’re into that type of stuff. Didn’t try a cigar the first time, because I was nervous, but swore I would have a go next time and YES! tried a cigar this past weekend and it was great! I had the blondie one. It’s smaller than the regular cigars, but still well worth it. Not too strong a bold taste; kind of resembling a chocolate/coffee like taste which I like. Drinks are not too strong but enough to make you feel relaxed. I have not tried their food so I cannot comment on that, but I’m sure it’s tapas and smaller dishes, because really the main attraction here are the Cigars. Music isn’t loud that you have to yell and not too low that you can hear others sitting by you. Service is top notch, they greet you with a smile and do not rush you. They come around ever so often to ask us how we’re doing which is a good sign. This cigar bar gives off good vibes and I, nor my friends ever feel pressured as maybe someone who has not been to these types of places would think. Good atmosphere. I will keep coming back to this establishment. Bathrooms are clean and have soap(THISISIMPORTANT). EXTRAPOINTS!: YOUCANSMOKECIGARETTESINSIDE, YESTHAT’S RIGHT. YOUCANSMOKECIGARETTES. As a New Yorker I am happy about this.

More of a bar that you can smoke in than a cigar bar. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing just good to expect it going in. The recent upgrades to this place have made it a little nicer. Little bigger drink and cigar menu. I like this place when I’m in the area. Worth checking out just don’t expect the high-end décor of some of the other cigar places in the city.

Stopped in with a few friends for an afternoon smoke. Neat location and décor with comfortable tables and chairs all about. Great music playing in the background. Cigar selection is limited to their house brands(you can bring your own for a cutting fee) and we opted for the maduros which were good but a bit pricey. Cocktails were well made and reasonable for the area.
