Really liked this little corner store. It was opened late and had a good selection of hot and ready to eat foods as well as packaged snacks for later. Everything is a little more expensive than what you pay at a grocery store but there are not other options in the immediate area. Staff was always helpful and friendly.

I Had a Chicken parm panini and it wasn’t so bad but not amazing either. Panini was a bit cold and messy. They have a huge menu so it was hard for me to decide what to get. They have plenty to pick from. If you are in the area just stop by and check it out. You have plenty of seats upstairs to take a break from shopping or sightseeing. Prices… well, they are NYC prices. So on that note, enjoy.

I tried this on a whim after being tired from shopping and was starving. The food was surprisingly good and fresh. They have an upstairs sitting area which is also very clean. It’s worth coming here for a quick bite.

What a joke, Came here before work for smoothie and the juice lady is taking her sweet time talking to people and almost seem high since she was extremely slow and not efficient. It took her close to 10minute to make my juice in rush hour! Are you kidding? This is NYC, if you cant do things fast, how do you even run business? Will not set a foot to this place again.

We took a while deciding from the extensive menu what kind of sandwich to get made, only to be told it was after lunch(not by long) and they were no longer making any. The pre-made options were okay, but suspiciously pricier than the other options may have been. They were okay, not amazing but not bad. Place was empty and pretty tired and tacky, but you get the feeling locals just grab-and-go from here and don’t stick around.

Food is a little expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The cook that is here in the morning makes the most bangin breakfast platter.

Probably 2.5 stars. I ordered a turkey on rye. They gave me turkey on a roll. Then, without asking, they threw a bunch of loose pickle slices into the large plastic clamshell that held the sandwich. By the time I got back to the office, the inside of the plastic container was soaked with pickle juice, and pickle juice had soaked through the wax paper surrounding the sandwich. On top of that, there were pickle seeds everywhere. I work in the area but will not return.

Great food. A bit expensive but cheaper than most of Manhattan. The fruits are so fresh and the food is actually really good for deli food.

Expensive but good. The prepared food is $ 10 a pound which adds up very quickly. But the food is good and they have a decent variety of proteins, carbs, vegetables and salads. At this point I expect to spend $ 15 for lunch but at least I get good and somewhat healthy food.

Food is of decent quality, however overpriced and unacceptable service from the grill cooks. They are never consistent with their hours of operations. The man on the grill always finds an excuse not to make your order after 2PM. Hello, this is midtown. Who closes a grill in midtown at 2PM? Make this your last option of choice of food, otherwise take your business elsewhere.

At 10:00 at night in my hotel, I had a hankering for some produce. Ran over here and surprisingly, the salad bar was well stocked with fresh fruit and veggies. Looking around they had some gluten free cookies and quinoa bites, which is great for those who are having a late night sweet craving but are gluten free. Prices are on par with other delis I’ve been to in the city. Also, the gentlemen who rung me up was incredibly nice! Score!

After walking around all the usual lunch spots, we decided to try something different and this one seemed to fit the bill. We walked in and the food in the buffet looked pretty decent, plus there was a seating area upstairs which is what made us stay as we were tired and hungry and really didn’t want to walk back to eat in the office. The selection of food and decent, they have California rolls, lots of different fruits, cold pasta, and a decent selection of hot food also. Unfortunately all the food was bland, tough, some dishes were cold and had no flavor. The seating area upstairs was completely covered with smog from the kitchen below and was HOT. Lucky us we found a table by the window so that was somewhat bearable. I can only imagine how it must feel on a hot summer day. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I pass this place all the time, there are so many deli’s close to my office I never make it far enough to try Smilers. Today was beautiful and I wanted to be outside, so I walked the extra 100 yards. Glad I did. Smilers wasn’t crowded, but had a large variety of food. I went with the chopped salad bar which had some great options: pico, salsa verde, guac! I made myself a little mexican salad and called it a day. I will definitely be going back to try more in the future. There was a whole hot plate line I didn’t even see until I was leaving! Maybe tomorrow…

I’d never noticed this place before, but we ate a late afternoon dinner there today and we were very pleased. The hot food bar & salad bar had a great selection compared to most places, and everything was really tasty & appealing-looking. They also had some very tempting-looking sandwiches & paninis and several wonderful-sounding varieties of muffins, but we were already overloaded from the other stuff. Since we had to kill a lot of time, we ate upstairs — and although the tables & chairs were the usual«well-worn», it was large and clean(in fact, a nice young guy was cleaning very industriously while we were there). The guy behind the deli counter and the guy at the cash register were both pleasant. Smiler’s has an «A» rating from the Health Department. (Update on 1÷21÷16): I’ve been back there several times over the years and everything is still fine.

What an awesome find on the way pick up the Express bus last night. Just looking for a little deli or somewhere to stop into to grab a sandwich for the ride home, and this place fit the bill. First off, the«salad» bar is amazing looking!!! $ 7.99/lb. for all kinds of stuff, including chinese food, tons of different prepared veggies, fruits, anything you can name… and it all looked outstanding. Sandwich counter is what really drew my attention though… lots of paninis and sandwiches to choose from. I went with the House Combo Panini which was a few different kinds of meat cheese and big crunchy green leaf lettuce all some perfectly grilled panini bread. Man did it hit the spot. It’s a really good sandwich, and not to expensive either… my buddy paid so I don’t remember the exact price, less than $ 10 though for sure. Also, they have a whole wall of drinks to choose from, so this makes for a great place to stop in any time your out and need a drink, quick snack, or complete take out meal. **April Underdog Challenge Day 29**
