Unfortunately, this location is the sad step-sister to The Smile on Bond st. Here, you get a tiny portion of limp, unseasoned vegetables for $ 10. Rude staff; not good value or taste. There’s way better options in soho than Smile to Go.

That sea salt chocolate chip cookie is heaven! I really like their breakfast egg sandwich. It’s filling and yummy. Otherwise the portions are small but all the food is great like the quishe.

Maybe it’s because of the sex pistols playing in the background or the affected staff and Opening Ceremony kids in here but I feel like I’m in Georgetown in Washington DC circa 1996. I have mixed feelings about whether this is a good thing. They were out of vegetarian sandwiches by the time I made it after 3, but the focaccia I had instead was pretty good. So if need to be around girls in baby doll dresses and scull caps, this might be the place for you.

Not sure why everyone raves about the chocolate chip cookie. There are definitely much better ones out there. But this PB&J cookie is probably among the best peanut butter cookies in the city. A tad on the sweet side and a little sticky from the jelly, but it is still a great balance of sweet, salty, and nutty. The best part is that the texture(which, in my opinion, is the most important part about a cookie) is spot on. Some peanut butter cookies run the problem of being too flaky or crunchy, but this one has the perfect chewiness and creaminess from the owner butter, also helped by actual chunks of peanuts. Also vegan and gluten-free for those who suddenly realized they have celiac disease. Besides the cookie, they have a good selection of savory foods(which I’ve never true but look healthy and yummy) and sweets. Some of the other baked goods are delicious while others just average. My favorites would have to be the banana bread with big chunks of actual bananas and the banana quinoa muffin, which is not overly sweet at all with a good crunch from the quinoa and a good amount of banana aroma. But the oatmeal cookie is definitely on the dry side and one of the cornbread I had was overly laden with syrup. The baked good flavors also change pretty frequently so you may need to try your luck, but just know that the PB&J cookie will not fail you.

Terrible customer service. I came in here on Friday morning to get breakfast for a business meeting of 10 people. When I said to the girl at the register(tiny, pretty, Asian looking gal) that I need 10 egg sandwiches and some other snacks for our meeting, she gave me a negative look as if she was unhappy I was about to make a larger order and give their business some good money. While I was picking juices and other snacks, she was seemingly inpatient. I’ve asked for a box of coffee and she replied that I had to order it in advance, otherwise I’d have to wait 15 min. To which I politely said that i wasn’t aware of this policy and it wasn’t a problem at all for me to wait. Again, the cashier was SEEMINGLY annoyed by my request of coffee. I noticed that but I kept it cool. I’m not ruining my Friday because someone is having a bad morning. I paid close to $ 150 for the order and was waiting for the coffee. Once the coffee was ready and I was about to leave, I’ve realized they didn’t give me cups, so I asked for them. The guy who made coffee game me the cups, and as I was leaving, the girl loudly told him that I had to pay for the cups. Now, it wouldn’t be an issue at all, but she didn’t say that to me, she said it behind my back but for me to hear that. This was so rude and unprofessional. I’m sad to give this place one star, because the coffee is good and they usually have good service, but such a situation is unacceptable. If you can’t keep your attitude to yourself, don’t work in customer service.

I love this place. They have great coffee and pastries. The bacon slider is worth trying! I love their homemade granola.

Mission: Find the best cookie in NYC. Time frame: While I’m still alive. Challenges: My thighs. Nestled on a side street, I actually was smiling to go when I found out about their sea salt dark chocolate chip cookie. Having had a more expensive version at Sweet Corner bakery, I had hopes that I could turn this café into my new location for a sweet and salty fix. I mean, they wanted me to smile when I left too, right? Walking in, the café is pretty small, but it really puts all the great art on display in your face. Looking everywhere on the counter, my cookie senses stopped me right when I got to the jars on the counter. There it was: the sea salt chocolate chip cookie. As I placed my order for one, I realized that I was paying almost the same price as I was for a Levain cookie, so I was hoping that this was going to be worth it. When the counter guy picked up the cookie from the jar, I saw him bring it back with him to the kitchen. «Okay,» I told myself, «he’s probably warming it up. It’ll taste even better.» Waiting about a minute, he came back out with it wrapped up, and I noticed that it actually hadn’t been heated. *sad face* Still, I was trying to keep my hopes up. The cookie itself was aesthetically pleasing, but biting in, I felt underwhelmed. I expected more of a diverse flavor profile with the addition of the sea salt, but the chocolate was strong and slightly overbearing, which prevented the sea salt flavor from coming out as well. I finished my cookie, and while it was a step up from an ordinary cookie, it didn’t stand out either. Mission: Failed.

Their food and salads are great! Perfect pick up for lunch or save for dinner later on. I would give this place 5 stars but I have one huge gripe! They put f*cking parsley in everything!!! Maybe I am a minority in hating parsley but is it really necessary to put in every single one of your salads??? Trust me the parsley isn’t adding anything the the dish so just leave it out from now on!(Or at least keep a majority of the salads parsley free). On a better note their vegan orange cinnamon bun is the greatest ever !

I go to Smile To Go basically every day because a) the food is absolutely delicious and perfect and amazing, and b) it’s on the ground floor of the building I work in. This habit is bankrupting me, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Lemme tell you a li’l story about Smile To Go. One morning I popped in here because I was late leaving my apartment and needed some brekkie before going up to my office. They have all kinds of baked goods but I felt like I had been eating crap lately and wanted to opt for something healthy. «Can I get a fruit cup?» I asked the cashier, gesturing to little clear plastic containers filled with melon, orange slices, berries and mint. «That’ll be $ 8,» he said. I said, «Oh, I just wanted the fruit cup.» «Yes,» he replied. «That’s $ 8.» I paid, grudgingly. And it was fruit, in a cup. Which is not worth $ 8 anywhere on this planet except a scurvy-ridden pirate ship in 1810. So you’re getting docked a star, Smile To Go, because C’MON.

Have never had anything I disliked here. Currently munching on the couscous and its delish. Also had the pear fig jam and cheese and it was to die for. A great place to stop and get some pre made food. Makes it nice and quick!

Today I saw an attendant drop an entire bowl of vegetables where the bottom of that bowl landed on top of the kale bowl in the display case. The female removed the kale as if she was going to discard it but I saw her just pick out the vegetables that fell in there and put it back in the display case. Who knows what was on the bottom of that other bowl. Maybe you should have discarded the whole thing? I guess it’s better than someone coughing or sneezing on the food and doing the same?

The place has some very cool stuff. The apple cheddar biscuit is incredible. My one problem was the croissant was 4 $, I love croissants. I eat them all over Manhattan. I’m very willing to pay for a great one, but unfortunately theirs is not. Also the lines would probably lead you believe they’re giving free stuff out, they are not. Not the best. Not the worst.

Got suckered in after seeing all the pics of T. Swift leaving her Tribeca abode to pick up muffins here. I can see how this place would suit her persona with all the cutesy, curly rustic signage. But for me, it left a lot to be desired. The actual food was in a chilled case already pre-made(doesn’t look like much ability to custom order sandwiches) and none of the baked good were proving particularly tempting(usual for me). Also, the folks behind the counter kind of just gave me blank stares with no greeting or offer of assistance. I guess they save those luxuries for Ms. Swift. Not wanting to leave empty-handed, I ordered a lemonade($ 3.50) which is tasty and hand-squeezes but packs a tart punch.

Celiacs beware– none of their baked goods are gluten free, despite signage claiming they are. Everything is sitting together(gf and non-gf are touching each other on the display trays) and before you ask, the staff wasn’t knowledgable at all about cross contamination and they didn’t have any in the back that hadn’t been contaminated yet. It’s a shame they go out of their way to use often-times more expensive products to make special breads for people who want/need them, only to ruin it on how they choose to display them. Smh. False advertising is going to land them into legal trouble very quickly. Word to the owners: though there are people who just choose the diet for whatever reason, celiac disease is a medical condition, an autoimmune disease, that requires a strict gluten free diet. These people aren’t doing it for appearances. People with this disease(~1/100 Americans) can get extremely, extremely sick from eating contaminated or «fake» gluten free food. Access to this food is covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the FDA just released a standard for measuring gluten free foods for companies– the amount of contamination must be under 20 ppm to be labeled gluten free. Guess it’s better for me in the long run– everything there is pricy… which is to be expected in soho.

Really great place for lunch(if you don’t mind long lines). I had the chicken salad, arugula, and cranberry sandwich and it was delicious. Bread was super fresh and the chicken salad was on point(I loved that it had dried cranberries in it). Portion size was perfect as well. Also tried the dark chocolate sea salt cookie, which was amazing and melty and addicting. Sea salt added such a nice touch. The inside of this café can get super hectic and the service can be a bit curt, but I recommend it for the awesome food.

Good food, fast! Good for a healthy quick meal; I especially enjoy the selection of small sandwiches. There isn’t much seating, so it is best to take your meal or snack to enjoy elsewhere. I haven’t been able to come in without leaving with a chocolate chip cookie. Also, check out their art wall. Wild and subversive!

This is my best friend Harmeet eating one of the best cookies I’ve had in New York City. Is there such thing as a bad chocolate chip cookie? That remains to be seen. But this one? If you’re in the area(Soho), GETONE. And yes, that’s sea salt on top. All the best cookies have sea salt on top. I’ve heard that their menu has a lot of other gems as well, but please oh please go eat this guy.

Normally I wouldn’t review a place after just trying one thing and spending 2 minutes there, but the Dark Chocolate Chip Sea Salt Cookie here is so good it warrants a 5-star review. This is a tiny little café run by and frequented by hip, young people. There are two tables or so in the very tiny space for enjoying the menu of sandwiches and several other pastries and sweets. All the stuff looks pretty good, but the thing I tried and that you must try too is that Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookie. When I asked for it and the guy said«$ 3.81», I said«this better be the best cookie I’ve ever had» and then I tried it and said«you got lucky.» Seriously, though I balked at that price at first, once I tried it, I realized there was no question that it was more than worth it. It’s a decent size, not particularly big nor small, and pretty flat. It has huge discs of chocolate throughout, and a ton of large, coarse salt crystals sprinkled liberally. This makes it incredibly salty, but it works so well with the really rich, melty dark chocolate. I couldn’t stop myself and finished it immediately before I even realized what happened. The other stuff might be good too, but just make sure you come here and get that cookie.
