Some nice antiques in here. Not really a fan of «repurposing» antique jewels however, unless they were damaged beyond repair to begin with. Also it’s really awkward to be in such a small space and be treated like you are invisible by the staff.

I go in here and pretend that it’s my private collection of curated curios from around the world and that they are just holding onto them for me. If you like bug motif things and ancient religious icons you’ll be in heaven. Looking at some of the other reviews, you get the idea that this is part museum, part morbid curiosity and part day dream. Definitely not an «antique store» in that quirky, musty way. I found out recently that they make all of their jewelry in-house with found items from around the world. must be why I love it.

Like a cocktail made of «two parts Moss» and«one part Partners & Spade»(with a splash of Noilly Prat dry Vermouth). Oh – and stirred, not shaken.

This store looks exactly like my mom’s house. And my mom isn’t a pricey collector/designer; she’s just an older renaissance-woman/pack-rat-hippie with good taste and an amazing ability to assemble and create(sew, sculpture, design) If you like this store, just start collecting old and neat things when you see them — on your travels, at antique stores, and thrift shops– and assemble artistically. It takes a little time, but the effect will be just as good, and it will actually be your own, instead of purchased for an exhorbatant sum from a nice(but terribly pretentious) shop

De Vera is a gorgeous wunderkammer. The Santa Maria figure with the feather dress is $ 15,000. I just had to ask.

i adore de vera. the store is immaculate. they have the best jewelry and so many cool objects, all of the pieces seem to carry their own history. everything has this flawless quality to it, it’s just nice to be in the store surrounded by such unique and exquisite things. it’s like visiting some long lost rich-as-hell relative and wandering through their parlor admiring all of their inherited one-of-a-kind family heirlooms. love it.
