S’MAC

Every interaction I have had at S’Mac has been reasonably good. My friends or sister & I will usually stop by before they close (an HR+ before closing or We’d get it to go if it’s to late to dine in) and get our mac & cheese fix. Sometimes We’d have a slight wait but our desired meals were being mad fresh & to our very picky specifications
We always feel welcomed & leave full with leftovers or take & bakes for the next day
It sucks so many others have had bad experiences there because it’s really a cool spot that serves great food

Had the nosh all american it was disgusting, kraft mac & cheese taste better than this

Right off the bat, the mac and cheese is good. service not so much. I ordered the 4-​cheese, mid size with breadcrumbs. After a long wait they mistakenly brought me a small sized dish. After i pointed out it was the wrong size, she brought me back the right order, but without the breadcrumbs. I just ate it at that point since i didnt want to wait any longer.
Solid food mac and cheese no doubt but getting my order wrong twice was pretty sloppy.

I wish they still served their mac and cheese in the skillets, but I guess they don’t do that anymore. The mac and cheese is so good but its incredibly heavy and can get a bit woozy after a while. I got the cheeseburger upon recommendation and it was killer.

This location sucks, I felt like if I was in the projects in East New York in Brooklyn. The staff was super GHETTO and rude. They was playing loud music and when I asked questions about the menu, she didn’t know anything. The food is mediocre and the place was not clean. I think they should be wearing uniforms instead of basketball shorts and a dirty t-​shirt. I was so disappointed and will never go back.

Came with high expectation but quite disappointed.
First time we came but they said they are out of the sampler.
Second time we waited 40 minutes in that yellow place after we ordered the sampler.
I love delicious Mac and Cheese so in general I like it. But we did not believe they place all the types in reference to the map they gave out, it’s just not right. We ended up getting very confused by their flavor and not sure what we were eating.

This place… Read the reviews thought this was a place I needed to try in the city, because I LOVE Mac and cheese. Sadly, this did not reach my expectations. I love a gooey lots of cheese tastes homemade type of Mac and this didn’t cut it. the food wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t make the trip out again. We got the sampler because we wanted to try every flavor– $ 16 was steep for what you got and the service was pretty slow. there wasn’t a ton of cheese on it and it wasn’t the place for me. the pictures look better than it tastes

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY OR CATERING FROM HERE.
Seriously. Just don’t. Save yourself the time. I ordered S’Mac catering and after assuring me over the phone that they would supply plates and plastic cutlery, they failed to carry through. I didn’t get any napkins, forks, spoons, knives or plates to eat with.
That wasn’t even the WORST PART though. They have absolute terrible customer service. I tried calling them TWELVE TIMES to get the catering supplies delivered. TWELVE TIMES. Who doesn’t answer their phone?!
The macaroni was cold and average. Skip this, save your money and time and go somewhere else.

worst meal I had in the city.
It wasn’t very busy at 6pm on a tuesday when i went, but my husband and I ended up waiting about 45 minutes for 2 small things of mac and cheese. And they were just okay, I don’t mind waiting if the food is good, but it wasn’t anything special at all, i got the buffalo chicken.
my husband’s favorite food is mac and cheese and he ordered the alpine and didnt even like it.

Mac and Cheese itself is a sold 3.5÷4 stars. It’s cheesy and delicious and it makes me feel good. Anything else good about smac ends there.
Forget about ordering for delivery. Just don’t. I live about half a mile away and each time I have ordered it is late. Like over an hour late. One time literally over two hours. And they just don’t care. It’s hard to even call them because the phone is either literally always busy or they just don’t answer — honestly not sure which one it is.
Have also went in to order and eat and have been told it would be like a 45 min wait. 45 minute wait for a take out place. That being said I have also gone in and it was a normal wait, but these times don’t make up for the bad. Overall, tastes good but so do a lot of other Mac and cheeses.

Heard great things about their food but was definitely iffy after reading their reviews about horrible service. I opted for pick up, as reviews fo delivery were atrocious, some people saying delivery either took HOURS past when they were supposed to get their food or it just never showed up, or showed up super late and was cold. We got a $ 7 coupon from Grubub and ordered the nosh size cheeseburger– good, not great (not a huge chedder fan and wasnt as flavorful as youd expect) and then made our own nosh with munster and grueyere cheese, added breadcrumbs and broccoli– very good.
Wide menu variety and decently prized. Nosh size is definitely good for one person who likes to eat, or 2 to share for a light snack.

SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I’m reading previous reviews and I’m awfully flabbergasted at the fact that people have failed to mention that. I’m questioning how the people who work here got their jobs. it must of been a friendly connection to the manager/​supervisor, or a family business. The workers are so loud, they’re speaking and cursing in Spanish and don’t seem to realize that I am latina! they’re rude and obnoxious and I wish the manager was here cause I would definitely let him or her know a thing or two.
As for the Mac and cheese, a nosh is more than enough. I got 4 cheese and it’s amazing. Learned my lesson, I’ll take this to go next time!

Smac is good to go to once in a while. If you’re like me and need some flavor and zest in your food I think you will get sick of your mac&cheese dish after about 5 bites. It is good, but the taste and texture gets a bit repetitive and by the end of it you never want Mac & cheese again. But, if you are planning to share one small dish with someone, the experience will be better.

Took 35 mins to get our mac. Place needs more seating.
With that said, the Mac is good — various flavours, lots of cheese, lots of carbs… I never doubted it’d be delicious and it lived up to the hype. The variety and prices are good, and I like the pre-​made recommendations.
The major munch size is big enough to enjoy the cheesy goodness on site and then bring some home.
I would not come back though if 35 mins is standard.

I live on Long Island but every time I go to the city regardless of what time of the day I need Smac! It’s my mission in the city to pick up at least a Nosh size. If I’m hungry enough I even get a major munch ALWAYS TO GO so that if you don’t finish its still in a container that can be reheated! That’s one of the best parts about the place I can always take home my Mac and cheese in a plate that can put straight in the oven. And it’s not like you have to eat it right there and then, SMAC comes with a take and bake option. Have your SMAC prebaked and pop it in the oven when u get home! It’s so good! My flavor is the buffalo with blue cheese and bread crumbs. I was considering changing up my order next time I go but no doubt the best Mac and cheese in NY

There are SOOOO many great restaurants in NYC, and I try a wide array of different establishments every time I visit. But there is one place, and only one place, that I literally go to EVERY SINGLE TIME I visit New York. Sarita’s Macaroni & Cheese!!!
All they serve is macaroni and cheese, that’s it! But you’ve never had the classic American dish served like this! The 4 Cheese with its Gruyère, Cheddar, Muenster, and Pecorino Romano is heavenly. The Mediterranean with its goat cheese, spinach, olives, and roasted garlic is unbelievable. But from my very first visit, the Alpine had me at «Gruyère and slab bacon!» This version of mac ‘n’ cheese is straight up money!!!
The Major Munch size is just the right portion for big eaters, while the Nosh size is good for the ladies who are watching their figure. I’ve won a number of eating competitions, despite my slender appearance, and I thought I could polish off the Mongo size once. Painful! Only order Mongo if you have a friend with whom you can share.
I have told many friends, acquaintances, and strangers to eat at S’MAC and not a single one of them has ever been disappointed.

I’m glad they cater to vegan and vegetarian option meals. I didn’t order anything today but my co-​workers loved. The place was clean and the stay was polite and friendly. I would definitely try it.

Mac & cheese is your classic homemade comfort food. Emphasis on the word comfort. Its supposed to elicit feelings of a warm, carefree childhood. But unfortunately, my experience at S’MAC did not conjure up that feeling.
They only had one woman behind the counter taking everyone’s orders. Obviously, service was irritatingly slow. They seriously need to hire at least another 2 people to help take orders, with a place this well known and busy its just not good business and certainly not polite to keep the customers waiting so long!
It took FOREVER for my mac & cheese to get to my table. I decide to build my own dish with two different cheeses, mozzarella and gruyère. Honestly? It really wasn’t as mind blowingly good as I thought it would be given this place’s reputation. Was it good? Yes. But it wasn’t outstandingly great. Its no different than the standard mac & cheese you get as a side dish at any steakhouse.
The last little insult was the price. My bill came out to $ 11.16. For something as simple as mac & cheese, that’s really expensive. And really not worth it given that it was only slightly above average tastewise.

This place is a college cafeteria. Enough said. I could make better Mac n cheese at home by baking a box of Kraft and putting breadcrumbs on top. Not to mention atmosphere is on par with a fast food restaurant, only with worse service. If you’re a high school kid with a fondness for easy mac I guess this is the place.

Overpriced, lackluster, and the bacon had a funky taste. I tossed my leftovers.

I got the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and it was really good! I thought the nosh size was bigger, but it wasn’t. That’s fine though, I couldn’t finish it (now I wish I did, I’m craving it!). There wasn’t that much chicken and I don’t think it was that spicy so I had to put on a buttload of hot sauce on it. It’s good for the price of $ 7.75 but I don’t think I can ever use that much on Mac and cheese again ! By the way, soda is expensive, it was $ 1.75 for your regular canned soda ._. !

Always order this place from the seamless app. Food is AMAZING, but the delivery service is pretty lame. They always show up on time, but they constantly complain about the tip, even though I tip more than 25%.

This restaurant is a great little place for building your own Mac n cheese! I made a buffalo chicken Mac and I really enjoyed it. It’s not somewhere I’d come all the time, but I would imagine it’s perfect when you’re drunk at the bar and need an interesting bite. There are so many options to choose from! I’ll definitely be back.

I consider Mac and cheese to be one of my favorite foods, and because of that I will not visit this place again. It was basically fast food mac and didn’t taste good at all. I order the cheeseburger mac and I barely had any meat in my dish. It was also served under lukewarm and I asked for them to heat it up. Not only was there attitude, it still came back warm as if it was sitting out for 10 minutes.
It might sound bad to some, but I’d rather eat Velveeta or even my girlfriends Kraft with fresh grounded up meat.

S’mac still has the best mac ‘n cheese I’ve ever had!
The all-​American makes Kraft boxed mac ‘n cheese look like a little wimp. And my boyfriend said the buffalo chicken plus some Tabasco sauce was pretty darn good. On both, the (gluten-​free) breadcrumbs on top added the perfect bit of crunch and the cheese was gooey in the best way possible. The nosh size is plenty for one, or the major munch is perfect to share.
My main complaint: it used to be better. Granted, it’s been a few years since I’ve been here but what happened to the real skillets? And is it just me or have portions shrunk and prices increased? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still come back here, but it’s maybe not as high on the priority list.
If you’ve never visited, definitely stop by – especially for some gluten free celiac-​safe mac ‘n cheese!

Food was just ok
Service was good enough but I could see how the volume of the employees could be a turn off for some.
I’m not saying it was bad but I’ll never return. U can get better mac and cheese all over new york for just as cheap if not cheaper.

Pizza and sex — even when they’re average, they’re still real good. This is not true for me with Mac N Cheese. When mac n cheese is average, I’m sorry I ordered, and I’ve had a lot of average mac n cheese (much produced in my own kitchen, though on several occasions produced superb mnc). Don’t know how I came upon s’mac in my research, but I figured I might give it a try if I’ve got an open meal and I’m in the area, and that happened.
I’m glad I came. The mac n cheese was really good. I built my own, and I added bacon which was in big hunks that when you bit into one got a mouth of smoky bacony goodness. The nosh is plenty big. I’m a fan.

Didn’t realize this was fast food Mac and cheese and that my meal wouldn’t be served in the iron skillet displayed on the wall, although I was pleasantly surprised with my pre made dish. Came out warm, creamy and crispy with pepper flakes and other toppings on the side. Using plastic forks and knives was less than ideal, and the lack of heating was slightly uncomfortable. Glad i tried it but most likely won’t be back

A tasty little carbloading spot, but I’m giving it 3 stars because it’s so dang small and it’s ALWAYS cramped. Even the tastiest mac & cheese is a little less enjoyable having to elbow wrestle your neighbor.
I absolutely love that you can choose from different types of pasta or cheeses, though. I’ve been here plenty of times & I’ll come back plenty more!

My son just had a birthday party and we ordered 2 Partay trays for delivery. We were originally going to have a party at their Murray Hill location but when plans got changed, they couldn’t have been more amenable — even delivering to our local park near the restaurant. Ordering was a breeze. The kids loved their mac and cheese, even coming back for thirds!

One of the greatest Mac n cheese only spots, EVER! From the very basic (American cheese), to the quite unique (fig & Brie) and everything in between– you can create your own, with a plethora of yummy ingredient choices! I seem to always create my own with cheddar & American cheeses, hot dog slices, scallions, and buttery breadcrumbs! You can also choose your size, and all are made to order in cast iron skillets!
They also have an adjacent, take out only space.
The main store is counter service, with a few tables.

I love s’mac. Can’t have enough of it. I want some right now. I could have it every day and night. This establishment is not the biggest in size, but several small groups can fit there. I’ve eaten here before as a quick snack. You can pick almost any flavor Mac and cheese. I usually do the buffalo chicken, mmmmmm.
There are also great selections for veggie lovers as well as meat lovers and for those who are not spice lovers like myself. Everything is made to order and you can just smell your order when it’s ready. You can also get your order to go. And if you can’t make your mind up there’s a sampler you can order that is very pizza looking ish. I usually pair my order with a cream soda.
Give this place a try!

Sarita’s Mac and Cheese, or S’MAC for short, serves some pretty damn good mac and cheese. They are pretty generous with extras (e.g. ground beef, hot dogs, etc) and the breadcrumbs don’t cost extra.
Unfortunately, flavor might be the only good thing about S’MAC. The kitchen is super disorganized, so they drop orders like crazy and cross contaminate between orders.
They lost my order, turning a 30-​minute wait into 55 minutes. And as I was talking to one cashier about it, the other cashier was telling the adjacent table about _​their_​dropped orders. To top it off, a delivery customer then called to complain about… you guessed it! A missing order.
Over the course of the two hours I was there, they lost 4 of ~30 orders placed. I don’t understand how anyone can be so horribly incompetent at their core business.
And when I got to the bottom of my mac and cheese, there was a slice of hot dog at the bottom. Yay for not washing the mixing bowls between orders! I hope they at least wash for people with dietary restrictions — it would suck if you were Muslim and your food came with bacon from the last guy’s order.
In summary, the food here is pretty delicious. But consider going somewhere else if you are in a rush, or if you have allergies /​other dietary restrictions.

Mac and cheese is the ultimate comfort food and it’s pretty hard to mess it up. I was ecstatic to find a spot that specializes in mac and cheese just a hop and a skip away from my bedroom. I decided to come for some comfort during one particularly bad hangover hoping to be enveloped in warm, cheesy happiness. Unfortunately, this dream did not materialize.
Service: I never talk about service first in a review, but the service here was abysmal. We waited nearly 45 minutes for mac and cheese. There was only 1 guy working behind the counter making the food and they also did delivery. He had to make each mac & cheese from scratch and put it in the 1 oven they had. There needs to be an efficiency overhaul in this place.
Food: I ordered the La Mancha and my roommate ordered the buffalo chicken. Although La Mancha had great flavor with the fennel and onions, it didn’t have the ooey, creamy goodness I expect from good mac and cheese. The buffalo chicken was nice and spicy but gets to be a little much after a few bites. I did enjoy the baked crust on top though and serving the dish in a cash iron skillet is nice touch.
I had high hopes for this place, but they really need to get their service down better. The décor of the place is also reminiscent of a fast food restaurant.

I ordered at 8:38 pm… its 10:03 pm and I have still not revived my order. When I call both the numbers I get a mailbox is full message.
WORST delivery service ever. I ordered again and figured I’d give it a second try… same issue… I ordered at 8:25 and it’s now 9:41 and still no delivery. All the phone are busy so I can’t even get a hold of them. If I could give a negative star I would.

On their 9^th anniversary, they were offering their famous all American Mac n Cheese for a mere $ 1. There was a short line out the door but it moved quickly. After paying my dollar, I received my small dish of macaroni with cheesy sauce and crispy cheese in a Togo pizza box. It was good. So if looking for comfort food fix, you probably should check this place out.

Let me start this review with the fact that I am in this restaurant now and have been for 35 minutes waiting for my order.
35 whole minutes… For a plate of pasta with cheese. The food is delicious but this is just ridiculous!
The kitchen is also filthy and runs a risk of cross contamination for celiacs. The workers are inappropriate and honestly could care less. By the time I get this food, I might pass out of starvation

Ce restaurant est tout simplement fantastique … Très petit mais dont les plats sont tellement bon!
J’ai vraiment adoré et je regrette vraiment qu’il n’y est pas ce genre de restaurant ici en France…

Der Laden ist und soll sehr bekannt sein.
Publikum eher unter 20 Jahren, zumindest zu dem Zeitpunkt wo wir da waren.
Die Nudeln mit dem Käse überbacken schmeckt. Ist aber nichts besonderes.
Also ist kein Must have in newyork!

LA place pour goûter le plat préféré des familles américaines: le populaire et réconfortant mac & cheese.
Au menu: des macaronis au fromage et rien que des macaronis au fromage, déclinés dans une dizaine de recettes (à la mode cajun, à la grecque, à l’italienne,…).
Ma préférée? L’assaisonnement «à la parisienne »: brie, figues, champignons et thym.
Si vous né pouvez faire votre choix, une formule «dégustation «vous propose un échantillon des recettes les plus appréciées. Et vous pouvez même composer votre propre assiette.
