Great soup dumplings! Pork, shrimp and pork, and crab meat and pork. They are all a delicious delight and something different for a change. The place is newly renovated and looks promising for the spring and summer time. Maybe fast pickup will be available at the new counter too.

Heard the owner undergoing heart surgery. Hope they recover well. The xiao long bao have been fresher in the past. Using old dumplings the next day is no good. I hope the owner, once recovered, takes this to task. The food in general very good.

Dumplings were fresh and awesome. Rib appetizer was not good. Other entrees were good. I was skeptical of the 3 star rating but this is a great place in Chinatown.

My friends ended up ordering the pork chops with rice, the soft shell crab, and the spicy fried chicken. They were ALL super good! We ordered quite a few of their specialty drinks and they as well were NOT stingy with the liquor! The pineapple paradise isn’t an actual pineapple but a ceramic cup. I’d recommend the mai tai or fog cutter.

We were a group of five, all of us Asian and I was given the suggestion of a Chinese restaurant so that the group would feel more at home. I acquiesced. Went to this place while on a two day visit to the States. It was a blind selection off my GPS as I had no data abroad. The interior was nice, nothing to complain about there. The staff were fine. They mostly talked to the group as my Mandarin is the worst. I was fine with that until it came time to order and my group decided on a set menu that I didn’t know about because damn son, the conversation went all over the place. Apparently one of the guys has a house in Toronto, really close to where I live! Small world. Anyway our food gets here and it’s mostly tasty. I can be a finicky eater, but my group seemed to enjoy it. But something seemed off… Now, Asians are typically diagnosed with«Nice to your face syndrome» and I had a feeling this was one of those times. No one was over the top about the food, and two of them I’ve dined with at other places and their reactions at this place told me we made a mistake. But hey, live and learn. Then the bill came and I was just blown away. It totalled to approx. $ 181. We didn’t want everything off the set menu, but there’s no such thing as a reduced price despite me hearing about 1⁄3 of the items were sliced off. And dun dun dun! Guess who was paying for all this? That’s riiight, yours truly. So off my personal, completely one person experience: interior was nice, staff were nice to my group but didn’t really attempt to talk to me or get my opinion on anything(I am the youngest, but hey still an adult damn it), ate only a few items and focused on one(staff didn’t ask me what foods I dis/liked but did ask everyone else), and paid a gigantic bill. As the person paying for all this, I felt pretty let down that I was pushed to the side in all the decision making. I think the only thing the staff asked me was what I wanted to drink. I’m only saying it was a gigantic bill because one table over were a group of 6 – 7 and I heard their bill coming to approx. $ 70. They had a lot of items on their table too, but evidently didn’t order the set menu. TL;DR, it was fine. Just don’t order the set menu. FYI in case you’re wondering, the group consisted of: me(early 20s), father(early 50s), close family friend(early 50s), cousin(mid-late 20s), cousin’s friend(mid-late 20s).

This restaurant is one of my favorite places in Chinatown, hands down. If you have ever been to Chinatown, it’s pretty dirty and a lot of the restaurants around seem a little sketchy. This restaurant has always gotten an A in sanitary and the food always meets my expectations. The soup dumplings are the best thing they have to offer. There are even little directions on the table on how to eat them. I have fallen in love with this place ever since my friend brought me here to try the soup dumplings. The fried rice is my second favorite dish! Make your way downtown to Shanghai Cuisine on 69 Mott Street.

Horrible service and mediocre food. We were not happy about the quality of food and the lazy service. We did not leave a tip and the server came after us demanding a tip… Literally writing this review just because of that… So rude to demand a tip from a guest who is not satisfied. Visual appearances are deceiving from the outside. The restaurant was completely empty and only got a B rating from the food safty inspection. Do not go here

Soup Dumplings here are great, I don’t know what everybody is hating on. If you’re getting a drink, the lychee martinis are very nice. Though, you should be careful… drink prices rack up here quickly.

Their soup dumplings are some of my favorites in the city. The rest of their menu is hit-or-miss. I’ve been coming here for over ten years for those soup dumplings though, although less frequently now that I no longer live in NYC. Those soup dumplings though: So so so good. One tip: if you come at lunch, you need to ASKFOR the lunch special menu, which has entrée plus soup or soda for less than $ 10. Annoying they no longer bring you this menu, but ask for it and save yourself some money.

We ordered the pork and the shrimp soup dumplings. I really liked the skin and there was a lot of soup in each of them. The skin was very thin and flavorful however the soup base was wayyyyy too sweet. If the soup was less sweet this would be my all time favorite soup dumplings place. Also ordered the jellyfish appetizer. That was really disappointing. It wasn’t flavorful and didn’t have picked radishes like most places.

#The Soup Dumplings are more on the thick skin side. But pretty good. The best thing about this place is the sidewalk outdoor seating on a nice day. The only place in the Chinatown area for #outdoor drinking that I know of… except if you want to brown bag like an alcoholic in #Columbus Park.

Food was mediocre. Dim sum was salty. Noodle soup was flavorless. When we paid our bill with a 15% tip, the waiter came back asking for more tips. Well, we gave them what we thought was deserving, since service wasn’t all that great. But I guess they felt that they are to get paid for the little work they did.

Convenient location to eat. It’s right on the corner of the intersection and is one of the first restaurants my family and I saw after parking in the garage and passing the park. Open restaurant so you can see who is eating inside. They sat us towards the back of the restaurant(with families who aren’t foreigners) when there were clearly better seats towards the opening to the street. Maybe it was just me, but I found it odd that they seated people who were clearly tourists and foreigners towards the front. Marketing ploy? Wanting to attract more foreigners? I don’t know, but I spent the hour eating at a cramped table and had to constantly push my chair out of the way for people to walk though. The waiter I had was quite rude. He was in a hurry(which is understandable, it was busy) BUT he kept on writing down entrees we weren’t asking for? My dad got so confused that he agreed to some of the food the waiter was asking us to get, making our bill over $ 100+. And then there are added charges we were not told of before we ordered! A big no in my book. They give you the bill on the piece of paper the waiter records your orders on. Everything is in Chinese, so we couldn’t figure out how much was what and what else we were paying for. ANDAPPARENTLYYOUCANONLYPAYINCASH. They didn’t tell us until we got our bill, so my dad had to run all the way back to our car to get more cash. It was ridiculous. The food was delicious though. I still wouldn’t recommend coming here due to the terrible service and overpriced entrees.

We came here late on a Monday night for soup dumplings. I had no idea what to expect but went with someone who had gone before. We started off with tea. He asked which kind I wanted and gave me a choice of three. I chose Jasmine. Everyone at our table commented on how beautiful the tea smelled. It tasted great too! He said to wait a couple minutes for it to brew. And we left the teabags in a little too long after that so my suggestion is to get the jasmine tea but take the teabags out after it’s been brewing for three to five minutes. We ordered the pork soup dumplings and the pork and shrimp soup dumplings. They were amazing. They were steaming hot, fresh, an excellent flavor and texture. We also ordered a plate of bok choy which seemed to be sautéed in a flavorful light sauce. Then we ordered steamed sticky rice in a banana leaf with red bean paste in the middle. Excellent texture, the being was sweet and soft and sort of melted in your mouth with a chewy texture to the sticky rice. If you want good soup dumplings I highly recommend this joint.

Great place to visit in the summer because they open up their restaurant to the outside. There is a nice park across from the restaurant that is a unique view from the typical busy street corner or concrete buildings. If you’re a fan of moo-shu pork(mu shu pork) they have some of the best in town. Their pancakes are thicker than your average thin pancake. Their prices are average and their lunch portions are a little smaller than my liking. When I come to Chinatown in the city I always anticipate that the traditional places provide tea. This place did not provide tea, which immediately displeased me off the bat, because it was something I expected to receive at the restaurant. Most likely won’t go back here again.

Ok so the dumplings were good, and that’s about it! Also they«round up» your bill because they do not take pennies! My bill was $ 21.51 and they added a .04 «rounding» charge! Haha ridiculous

I came here for lunch because I was in the mood for soup dumplings. Being my first time here I didn’t know what to expect. I was seated right away because the place was pretty empty. The waiters were arguing over who was going to wait on me. lol I ordered the crab and pork soup dumplings and a chicken and broccoli lunch special. Now I’ve had soup dumplings in the past and I absolutely love them. These here however were just okay. The chicken and broccoli was exceptional. If you want a real good soup dumpling you have to head out to flushing queens. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. My bill came out to roughly $ 14.00 they do not accept cards. Cash only guys. There is an ATM located in the restaurant. Overall the food was good and if I’m ever in the area again, I will return.

Everyone pay attention now. DONOTEATHERE. This place charges gratuity without informing the customers. The wrost part is 20% of party of 2 … Remind you 2 people for 20% in a Chinese restaurant. In Chinatown. This is not FANCY restaurant like Mr Chow… Bottom line is they will charge you and when I confront them about it. They said nothing. Mgmt is very rude. I won’t return to this place and I definitely don’t recommend anyone to go there. they also did not list on the menu that gratuity will be add in. So this is a scam and ripping everyone off. Specially tourist and foreigner. I m Chinese and they can do this to me. Imagine what they will do to you!!! This is the wrost place in Chinatown.

This wasn’t too bad. Made the mistake of coming here during Chinese New Year. Which would have been great, but there was outrageous traffic. In any case, the wait wasn’t too bad, and I didn’t feel like we were rushed out too much(And more than you generally are in these kinds of places). We came here specifically for soup dumplings, and unfortunately, they were only mediocre. The soup inside was delicious, but the dumplings themselves were too thin and most of the soup had flowed out before we could eat them. AND, they did dodgy things about adding a service charge without even telling us and the tea was only mediocre. Really, there wasn’t anything too bad about it, but I won’t go back. There are other places in Chinatown that have better food and a better experience.
