Went in today and it seemed like they have 100 sales staff. It’s so crowded I had a hard time walking around… ended up just walking to the large Sephora in Union for what I needed. Also the security guard was standing RIGHT in the middle of the entrance? Like, let me breathe please. It felt awkward all around.

I went in last night to get a makeover and oh my gaaaa Tanesia was unreal. She listened to exactly what I wanted. I would definitely recommend her for a makeup session — she will change the way you loo at makeup. I loved that she wasn’t so pushy about buying all of the products afterwards too(I’ve experiences that). 5 stars!

They changed the hours. Maybe someone should tell Unilocal. It’s 8:30 and the sales associates are doing their own make up.

I agree with the other reviewers who call this NYC’s worst Sephora. As a VIB Rouge client, I am obviously a big believer in the brand and a frequent customer. This Fifth Avenue store is a travesty: overstaffed and under-maintained. The place is swarming with salespeople but it’s unclear what it is they’re actually doing, besides chatting with each other or walking around aimlessly. I guarantee you: 9 times out of 10, displays are filthy and either missing stock or completely disorganized. Makeup shades are never returned to the right slot and everything’s chaotic. Get it together, guys. There’s much to love about Sephora and I will continue to shop there but this location leaves a lot to be desired. Don’t just hire any old random raggedy kid who wants a job. Customer service and in-store experience are key to client retention. You know this.

The best Sephora in the land! Unfortunately I’m in SC and don’t have a Sephora anywhere near me, but I’m lucky enough to travel to NYC often and I always hit up this store. Emily is the BEST. Everytime I come in she’s super helpful and hooks me up with the best products and tips before I leave the city. I can’t say enough about how great this store is!

I been to this Sephora a couple of times. The customer service reps can be nice but when they are swamped tend to be rude. The store is smaller than the Union Square location but they manage to fit in a decent selection. A great location if you are the type to be in and out and know what you want.

Worst Sephora in the city. The sales people ignore you and when we asked for help with matching a concealer the woman shrugged and said she didn’t know. She also couldn’t be bothered to get someone who could at least pretend to be interested in helping. Skip this one and go to Union Square they have everything and their sales people aren’t unless.

Very small sephora, but still has all the essentials from what I could tell. Came in about 6PM on a Thursday and it was PACKED. However, when I hunted around for a salesperson they were happy to help, and the cash register guy went lighting speed, so that was the best part. If you need a sephora with no frills and all the essentials, this is it.

I’ve been to this Sephora several times and it is the only Sephora I’ve ever been to that I didn’t like. I have never previously encountered a Sephora where the employees seem pained to do so much as greet someone. They flat-out ignore the customers and act as if they aren’t even there. The typically excellent, friendly customer service is a huge part of why I usually enjoy shopping at Sephora so much. This particular Sephora location really makes the company look bad. I hope they at least learn how to crack a smile soon! I certainly won’t be back.

I agree with some of the other reviewers that finding someone to help you is hit-or-miss at this location. However, today was different — a pleasant surprise. Wilson assisted me and was super friendly and helpful. No hard sell, just listened to me and gave me the information I needed. Thanks, Wilson!

Horrible sephora, makes me not ever want to ever go back to sephora again. There’s no sense of customer service here, I asked one of the guy worker who was just standing around doing nothing if someone could sample some eyeliner on me but he gave me a huge attitude saying everyone left when a lady was going around giving others a makeover. Workers talk amongst themselves and I’m not even greeted and asked for help. Went home to buy online instead of asking these rude staff for help.

The most horrible sephora i have been in and thats makes me so sad and it hurt me because i work at a sephora the company is the most amazing much better than the mac stores which were cruel to me i was not greeted at all nor asked is i needed assistance. We get trainings so this people working here are not representing our amazing company nor brands well. Please they need a reality check i don’t understand how they just sit or walked around talking to each other. Clients are our priority. Get it together

Luis is amazing, he is very knowledgeable about products, very professional and paying attention what we need. I have many friends and I direct them to Luis for any kind of their cosmetics needs. They are all satisfied. Thanks to Sephora for having such talented representatives

This is a smaller Sephora but I think it’s very understaffed. The employees are always helpful once you find one, but they are scarce and you often have to wait for one to be free, which is frustrating.

Went today again. Continues to be an example of friendly, professional and«not pushy» customer service. Patricia was absolutely fantastic and took care of me like a pro. Love this place!

The minute Kristina Marie walked over to me I knew I was in good hands to get my makeup done for a wedding. I worked in the beauty business for a while and have had my makeup done many times so I know what I like. Kristina asked me what I was looking for, went and selected products, tried some things out, checked in with me and all was great. She went against my wish of totally matte because she thought it would be totally flat and she was absolutely right. I’m so glad she listened to my direction in certain ways but acted as the expert in that she provided me with a great makeover, majorly educated me and got me out of my comfort zone of matte shadows. I can’t wait to return to see her again!

Staff are very hit-and-miss. Some are approachable, knowledgeable and fill me with confidence so I can take their help with products; others are vague, shy, or abrupt. The experience was a little bizarre for me… rather odd for Sephora

This location tends to have fewer associates that are able to help the many customers that visit the store. I’ve received a lot of recommendations on a variety of product from the staff that I was not happy with. Thank goodness for their great return/exchange policy otherwise I’d be pretty pissed for having purchased into products that don’t promise what they’re supposed to deliver.

«Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.» What girl want, girl gets. A smaller retail space for this particular Sephora in New York’s prestigious Fifth Avenue. With one item in mind for weeks, in hopes of being in and out quickly, there are no employees readily available for assistance. I had to fend for myself in circling my search three times to attain one simple eyeliner. Low and behold, I purchased the last one standing on the rack! One eyeliner for the checkout line was moving like a snail as my eyes were itching from all the powder and cosmetics floating heavily in the air. The checkout queue is very narrow and compact in size with merchandise cluttering the small space where it is an eyesore for the eye to see.
