A very good first introduction haircut to the world of curly hair cutting. Leslie really brought out the curls in my 3A curly hair, and gave me some good information on how to wear the haircut. Since my first haircut was just to clean up all the deadzone, my next will be more of a creative endeavor. In 8 weeks, I shall revisit.

I booked an appointment here for a haircut after reading rave reviews on Naturally Curly about Leslie… this is hands down the best hair cut i’ve gotten since… well…ever. Leslie Ellen is a curly hair guru and she did wonders for my 3C curls. What’s even better is the way that she treats you. She is super sweet and greeted me with a hug and she took the time to get to know me and my hair. She’s definitely an awesome hairstylist and I’m keeping her. I highly recommend Leslie Ellen to my fellow curly girls!

I found Leslie Ellen on the Naturally Curly website and decided to book an appointment with her because of all of the positive reviews. Let me begin by stating that Leslie is a very charming and personable hair stylist, so it is easy to understand why there are so many excellent reviews of her. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with her — and that is after scheduling 3 appointments to «get it right». The first appointment, I asked for light brown hair — I received copper highlights (which is what you get when you add regular hair bleach to dark brown hair). The 2^nd appointment, she didn’t have time to color my hair so I only received a haircut with the promise that I would get it colored the 3^rd time around — the haircut was better than the first but not great. My 3^rd and last appointment with her was the worst. She double booked the appointment with another client and again forgot that she agreed to color my hair. It was late on a weekday and she seemed very rushed. She proceeded to apply a solution to my hair and turned her attention to her other client. The solution didn’t «take» to my hair — leaving patches of brown hair and patches of copper highlights — not what I asked for. Keep in mind, she never applied hair color of any type (but instead used another bleaching solution). Because she was double-​booked, she was not focused on my hair at all. Lastly, she blamed my curly hair for the product not working. This is unacceptable and a «master hair colorist», as she positions herself to be, should never blame the texture of someone’s hair. She messed up and it really upsets me that she didn’t own it. I won’t be going back. This is my honest review

Today I went to Leslie because I needed ALOT of help with my curls in which not many people have and who else better to cut curly hair then someone with beautiful curls which she has. I came in with matted hair so I gave Leslie and her assistant some work to do. I still feel bad. She has a warm and down to earth personality in which she talks to you to get to know you which i admire. She was at awe with my curls after the needed detangling session. She’s very knowledgeable and always willing to make your healthy curls last with tips. She layered my hair to give it some shape and to fit my narrow face. She also taught me how to rake and shake, after dry shake, second day hair tip and even told me that i had to use a heavier product on a small section since it was a different curl pattern. After all was done, she asked me how I liked my cut. If I remember I calmly said I liked it. She wasn’t sold on it because she didn’t see much of a reaction and couldn’t gauge. Sincerely, I had reassured her. I’ve been neglecting my curls, now that I have a guideline on how to care for them correctly I will do right by them. I’m very grateful. I already booked my 3 month trim. She does well not only with curly, but straight hair also. Trust me, girl knows her stuff!

Leslie was fantastic! I’m in from out of town and wanted to go from long curls to short –time for a big change. She fit me in without and appointment and my hair looks so good! I didn’t even imagine it could look this good short, and it looks great! I would recommend her to anyone, especially if you have curly hair and want a quality hair cut. 5 stars!

Over a year ago I restarted having Leslie handle my hair needs. I had gone to her almost twenty years ago and was always pleased, but lost touch for some time. My hair had very bad ends and needed regular root maintenance. Leslie had my commit to scheduled appointments and over a year later I am super happy with my hair. The ends look great, it is growing at a good pace and my roots always look good. I highly recommend her.

I went to Leslie just for a trim, and came out with an amazing hair cut. I wanted a cut that I could still throw in a pony tail if I am on the go. She gave me layers that I can work with, which gave me more shape and a cute bang that can swoop to the side if need be. I hadn’t had a hair cut in about 10 months (which you shouldn’t do), so she got rid of my dead hair, and it’s so healthy now. :)

Leslie Ellen is a fabulous hairstylist. I have finally found the perfect stylist. Since I first went to her she listened to my request and she talked to me about my cut. She knew exactly what to do to make me look my best. She tells me the truth if she doesn’t think something will look right. She always asks me a few days after if I like my cut. She truly cars for her clients. She styles my teens (boys) hair as well. And my girls. They love thier hair styles. Thank you Leslie. I would recommend her to anyone who is picky about thier hair.
