Amazing food amazing service. From the hummus to the cheese rolls to the pasta. And inexpensive. Harem needs places just like this one.

I used to go there when it was located on 79th and Amsterdam… I had to leave NYC but I try to go to Savann every time I am there. Found out it was relocated couple of years ago but not much changed: same delicious food, nice design, beautiful atmosphere… And the owner is a very friendly and great host.

NOT Family Friendly. I have dined here a few times because I like the veggie stew. I have always disliked the sterile atmosphere, but kept giving it another chance because the food is quite good. I had dinner there tonight with a friend and our 4 and 5 year old kids. Hardly anyone was in the restaurant.(Just another table of 4, and maybe 4 people at the bar.) Our kids behaved reasonably well, and I was astounded when a man came over as we were paying our bill, no less, and said, please, can your children be quiet, people are complaining. I looked around and couldn’t quite figure who might have been complaining, but alas… There are definitely times when my child is disruptive, but this certainly was not one of them. Seriously, the kids were just talking at a regular volume, and were maybe even more quiet than usual! As my friend said, a table of four adults is way louder than our kids are being right now. I will not return to this restaurant. Why can’t Harlem get some decent places for all of the families who live in the area?! Also, the prices here are *ridiculous.*

Our waiter was very attentive and made sure that our needs were attended to. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the Kebab Combo Platter which came with 2 good sized pieces of steak, lamb and chicken, out of the three the lamb had to be my favorite

My boyfriend and I were out last Saturday night and were looking for a good dinner spot in Harlem. We came across this place which looked nice and had a pretty good looking menu. After getting some drinks we put in our order for the special with catfish. The table next to us also put in a similar order. The waitress says she has to check to see if they have anymore catfish and will let us know. Ok fine. She comes back and tells the other table they can replace the catfish with salmon. She goes to us and says there is no more catfish, then listed the other fish(brazino, salmon). We say we would like to have the brazino. Then she says that she cannot replace the catfish for the brazino. I don’t remember all the details but there may have been mention of the salmon costing extra and then saying that she can’t replace it with that either, we would have to order from the regular menu? We were all sorts of confused and my boyfriend asked for clarification since one thing was said and now another statement is said. Basically the special can’t be replace with another fish, but because the table next to us already put in their order they are having a salmon replace the catfish in the special and it won’t cost extra. What? The waitress asked what we would like to do and my boyfriend said we would like a few moments to discuss. We decide we’re going to just finish our drinks get the check and leave. However the waitress just avoided us not wanting to come to our table. My boyfriend was not rude at all and politely asked for clarification and the waitress seemed anxious and awkward. We had to get the freaking bus girl to get our check because the waitress was too scared to come back. Wtf? Ok things run out in the kitchen but learn how to have basic customer service and handle your own anxiety. Seriously. No follow-up, no apology for the inconvenience, no clear alternate options give, no discount on meal. Needless to say we’re never coming back to this place again

I have eaten here a few times. Some of the food is okay, some is bad, and all of it is overpriced. But the real reason for this one-star review is the service. Not the servers, but the manager(or owner, not sure which). After I told him I was inclined to write a negative review on Unilocal based on his refusal to let me order something to go, he told me to «go f*** myself» and«get the hell out of here.» I kid you not.

What can I say, I really love this place. Whenever I need a really good, tasty, filling meal and a cocktail, I come here. The food is authentic Turkish(might I say, the best in town!!), and really hits the spot! Their happy hour is awesome, and so is the service(ask for Mine — she’s adorable). The setting is romantic, and private, yet friendly. This place is great for groups. As a vegetarian, I’m impressed with their options. Their cold/hot Meze platters, homemade fluffy Turkish bread, falafel, mint-zucchini pancakes, risotto — are all mouthwatering. I’ve never had Ezme before — and I’m in love. Plus, I’ve met so many interesting people, just sitting at the bar!

I have been here several times and taken different people. My experience is that the food is always good and some dishes are a cut above. I like the salads and the mezze plate is really nice. They give you only one piece of bread and you have to ask for more, but overall the food is fresh, well-prepared and reasonably priced-equivalent to other Turkish spots. I haven’t ordered meat yet so I can’t speak to that. Check it out!

Want to have a drink and a salad! At midget was dry! The Drink was ok but salad was awful! The dressing was bitter and greens although fresh was tasteless! And to To it off they only offer the one Dressing, Oily ass Pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. The Barmaid tried, but couldn’t do much with bad tasting food! Also the chef and wait staff, sat around in the back and chattered and laugh the whole time I was their! Not inviting at all. I’m leaving and going across the street to Chocalata’s

Do yourself a favor and dine here! It’s quiet, romantic and delish! The brunch offerings are also great and reasonably priced. This place is especially inviting during the warmer months in which outside dining is offered. Now the downsideThough very tasty the portions especially the kabob, salmon and steak salad dishes are very much on the ‘we’re cutting cost and maybe they won’t notice” side. Other than that folks it’s just the perfect low key, dining option perfect for a date or dinner for 1.

Amazing ambiance, great food and service. Highly recommended! Appetizers are fresh and tasty. Try the branzini and manti for the main course. As for dessert, you can’t go wrong with the chocolate fondue…

This place is a hidden gem. The food is simply delicious. My favorite is brunch, but the lunch specials they offer daily are a great deal. The golden lentil soup is puréed and has a flavor that makes you want to order a second bowl. The salads are hearty and scrumptious and always crisp and fresh. The secret must be their house dressing-not too oily, but full of flavor. The stuffed portobello, zucchini pancakes, and cheese rolls are finger licking good. My friends go gaga over the octopus(I’m not into seafood). The coffee crème brûlée and a glass of hot Turkish tea is a great way to finish off a satisfying dinner here. Also, this place has a fully stocked bar, interesting cocktails and happy hour deals. Oh and the atmosphere is great. Elegant, yet laid back and relaxing. The front is lined with green plants and the walls have interesting artwork. Great soft music, dim lighting, and spaced out tables make this place a great date spot. The chef/owner is very friendly and can be seen greeting his guests as if they are long time friends coming into his home for dinner.

Have dined here a couple of times. Girlfriend is from the Mediterranean and this place has a pretty good selection on that front. Overall, solid food(especially appetizers), but pricy. This past time we went we got 4 appetizers. The fried calamari, zucchini pancakes, grilled octopus, and crab cakes. They were all good with the pancakes being the best with a mint yogurt sauce, followed by the calamari. The crab cakes were ok, and the grilled octopus were ok but not great. Their cocktails were pretty meh in my opinion, but what I’ve had of their wine I’ve liked. Overall, good Turkish/Mediterranean food if you are in the mood for that, but too pricy for what you get. It’s probably about the same price as Vinateria, which is close by, but the quality of food and service is not as good.

Great ambiance, lovely service, very charming and attentive owner, that stopped by to make sure our service and food was what we wanted. Homemade«delicious» hot Turkish pita, Octopus grilled to perfection served w/arugula salad, a perfect ample mezze platter, and a molten chocolate cake that as perfect!

This review is LONG overdue! I stumbled across this amazing gem nearly 2 years ago. It is incredible! I am not an expert in Turkish cuisine however I have been blown away EVERY time I have dined here. I wouldn’t let the menu intimidate you, I highly suggest the ezme it is to die for. It’s a delicious spread for the lovely bread they serve it with. Also there Cherry Rekki cocktail is divine, it has a Turkish liquor in it that reminds me of absinthe but there version, with that combo and the tartness of the cherry juice it is wonderful. They have a great $ 12 lunch special too where you can pick an app like the ezme mentioned above, hummus etc and a heaping helping of an entrée. Plus outdoor seating and delivery = A+ in my book So glad I live a couple blocks away from this fantastic establishment

Came here with a few friends because the place seemed to have a nice ambiance. We were underwhelmed by the food. Dishes weren’t particularly flavorful and lacking in presentation. The Turkish tea is strong and delicious.

Great food! Went for happy hour(from 4−8pm at the bar) and wasn’t disappointed. Shared the meze plate special, octopus(super tasty and comes with a great salad!) and chicken kabob plate(which comes with rice and a salad). The meze comes with homemade bread. Everything was excellent. I don’t eat chicken but was told it was cooked perfectly. And Service was great! Everyone was really nice including the owner.

Savann is a rare gem. The food is SO good, most importantly it is CONSISTENTLY good. I live nearby and every time I know I need reliably delicious food with neighborhood friends or out of town guests, I choose to go to Savann. I’m a vegetarian, so there are many menu items I haven’t tried, but my non-vegetarian friends rave about the lamb dishes especially the lamb dumplings. They now have a lovely outdoor seating area on the sidewalk which is really nice in pleasant weather. The ONLY reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the décor is a bit lacking. It would be nice if they found a way to make it a bit more cozy or interesting. Other than that, it’s perfect !

The lunch menu here is much more limited than dinner menu. They do offer a lunch special for $ 12 but selection is even smaller. I got the ezme and falafel wrap. The ezme is a spread made with blended vegetables and spices which tasted amazing on top of their warm bread. However, the complimentary bread ran out before I was halfway done with it. The waiter said an extra bread basket would be $ 3, but in the end was nice enough to give us another so that I could finish the ezme. The falafel wrap was nice too and came with a side of fries but was in no way authentic Turkish food. I tried my dining partner’s manti and the dumplings were yummy. The food was really 4 stars and service was nice although a bit slow. But I still couldn’t help being disappointed by the limited lunch menu so I have to take down 1 star for that.

No. Just no. Food is far from the best Turkish in Manhattan unless you have visited nowhere else. The zucchini pancakes were over cooked, slightly burned and over salted. The shish kebab combo was just fine but you can’t really screw up grilling meat now can you? The service was attentive yet awkward. It’s in my hood and I wish I could say of go again but I simply would be lying if I stated that. Hopefully it’ll get better. Rating: Two flaccid undesirable nips
