I walked into Sartoria’s location in August 2013, eager and excited to get a new suit for a special occasion in late October. After much hedging by the staff, the suit finally arrived in January 2014, a full 3 months after it was promised. They stated that the suit can be altered for free. I took them up on this offer. It is currently November 2014 and I am still waiting for a reply. That is the short story; if you are interested, the long story is below: — I was referred to Sartoria from a friend who had purchased a couple of suits. Encouraged by his recommendations, I scheduled a suit fitting in August 2013 during which the staff stated the suit would arrive in less than 1 month, well before the event I planned to attend clad in the suit during October. I was pleased with the ease the appointment was set up and by the staff’s passion of suits. When a month passed without a single call from Sartoria, I called the office to hear that the suit fabric had not even been cut yet! The staff assured me that despite the holdup, the suit would be finished in time for the event. I called again a few days before the event and I heard the same bad news, only with a little more empty apologies. I ended up going to event with an old suit. In November, I again called the office to check on the status(note that Sartoria did not reach out to me once since I first walked into their office). They told me the same excuse: the suit has not been cut yet. When I asked for a refund, the staff member showed little consideration and promptly declined, instead promising to push the factory to work on the suit. A week later, I was again told the suit had not been started. I asked for a refund once more and was once more rejected. I told them that I would reach out to my credit card company for a refund. Now things got rolling. The card company took a few weeks to call Sartoria — by that time the suit arrived and Sartoria was able to send a picture to them. I was impressed at how quickly they could get the suit — maybe it was the threat of losing money? So, once I got the notification from the card company and saw the picture proofs, I called the office to pick up the suit(even at this point, Sartoria did not have the courtesy to call and let me know the suit was ready). When I went to the office, I received no empathy from the staff, only how this whole incident was the factory’s fault. Then he went on to tell me that another customer ordered 3 sports jackets for a vacation, but the factory was not able to deliver. I felt that customer’s pain, but I was unsure why the staff was bringing this up to me. Anyway, in January 2014, the suit was finally hanging in my closet. I then felt like a minor modification would have been beneficial. I called, texted and emailed Sartoria over the next few months. No response to this date. Terrible customer service, atrocious accountability, cowardly demeanor. I’m sure if everything went smoothly, you would enjoy your experience; please don’t be fooled into thinking that their initial welcoming attitude will carry over into situations where things don’t go as planned. Like the other reviewer, I will now pursue other tailors to get the suit fixed.

AVOIDAVOIDAVOID. I bought my boyfriend a custom suit for Christmas in 2012. You should know it took over 1 year to complete the process. These guys were SO eager to pick up my money and drop off my gift card, and then we spent 1 year chasing them to get any work done, emails and texts rarely responded to. They don’t have a store and you have to meet by appointment but it is almost impossible. The suit is still ill fitting. Looks like a cartoon. We will bring it to the good tailor in our neighborhood and pay a few hundred MORE to get it fixed. We have given up on these guys. Oh yeah … and it is now 2014. Avoid.
