Ordered a roasted turkey sandwich with mozzarella(toasted). It was very good, but $ 12.00 for a sandwich and a bag of chips was a bit outlandishly overpriced.

Loving these fresh sandwiches. You can see the loaves of bread and slices of meats cut right there in front of you. I got there a little before 1PM in the middle of January and the line was to the door. Great hole in the wall.

I just ordered from here for delivery. They were very quick to deliver so no complaint there. The food was of very poor quality, it was not worth the price. I ordered the grilled salmon. First of all the mashed potatoes were not fresh, reheated for sure. I don’t even know when they were made. They crumbled and tasted old/reheated in the microwave. The steamed vegetables were steamed to the extreme. The salmon was thin, therefore easily overcooked. It did not look appetizing when it arrived and I don’t feel great after eating it.

Delicious sandwiches! Omg we had the roasted turkey and the herbal mayo is amazing! We also ordered the chicken Cesar salad! Great place to grab lunch after a long walk on the brooklyn bridge!

I’m a little late writing this review. I ordered from here a couple weeks ago. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it wasn’t anything special at all. A little disappointing to be honest. But my coworker ordered the chicken cesar salad and it was almost offensive how wimpy it was. They get three stars because they deliver and my sandwich was fresh but I don’t see myself ordering from here again anytime soon.

My colleague was craving a sandwich, so we looked a few places up and stumbled upon this place. It’s a very hole-in-the-wall-ish type place where you really don’t sit inside and it’s best to take your goods to go. I ordered a prosciutto sandwich on whole wheat bread and a lentil soup combo for around $ 10. The prosciutto sandwich was good when I was having it, but I got that feeling afterwards where too much of a good thing just isn’t good at all. In this case, the prosciutto was really good, but there was actually TOO much of it in the sandwich — silly me, who ever complains about too much prosciutto? It was a bit too salty for my liking.
The lentil soup was really good — a hearty, healthy and very flavorful soup. Would totally get that again. Solid place for a quick lunch in the FiDi area — I’ll come back for the lentil soup but try a different sandwich next time.

Solid inexpensive lunch option in the financial district. There was a line to the door when we arrived which is always a good sign. The service was quick so we only had to wait about 5 minutes to place our order. We had a chicken parm sandwich and the ravioli of the day which was spinach and cheese. Both were very good. I noticed that it took a little longer to receive our order since we had pasta but we were still able to get in and out in 40 minutes or less.

Found this lunch place on Unilocal, and what do you know! It’s right across the street from work! :) This is an Italian restaurant owned by a Chinese family — not that I have any issues with that — just don’t get confused when you walk in and it looks like a Chinese fast food restaurant… because the décor sure gives off that vibe! Their lunch specials are a really great deal. They have a daily sandwich, and a selection of soups you can choose from(either a large or small). In addition, you have a choice of either a can of soda or a bottle of water! Depending on whether you get the small or large soup, the entire meal will cost you between $ 9 – 11, which is a really great deal! I was feeling under the weather, and the chicken noodle soup was a wonderful pick me up during lunch! I had the sundried tomato/grilled chicken sandwich for dinner later and although the bread was a little tough, the flavors were still great! I’ll definitely be back on another day of the week to try a different sandwich and soup combo!

Would highly recommend this place. Came in for a quick bite during a long day of sightseeing. Ordered the #3. Prosciutto and mozzarella cheese were delicious. Baguette also tasted fresh. For only $ 8.75 this was a much better choice than subway. Sandwich was prepared promptly. I wish they had sandwich shops like this one near where I live. Soup list also looked quite extensive and rotated for each day of the week.

We had lunch at the Sandwich House after visiting the 9⁄11 Memorial Museum and walking through the financial district. They make very good sandwiches at reasonable prices. We had the Prosciutto Di Parma, sandwich, the Sopressata & Fontine sandwich and the Roast Turkey sandwich. All were fantastic on fresh Baguette rolls. They offer a large varied menu of Salads, Sandwiches and Pastas.

The food is ok, but the lady who took my order over the phone was extremely impatient and rude! If not for my coworkers who were placing their orders through me, I would have hung up and ordered elsewhere. I won’t be ordering here again.

Was in the area so dropped by Sandwich House for dinner. I ordered a Chicken Parmigiana with Penne, and was pleasantly surprised by the presence of two chicken steaks, when they probably could’ve gotten away with one. 5⁄5 for portion. Unfortunately the chicken itself tasted rather bland and rubbery, even with the cheese on top. 3⁄5 for tastiness. Would give another try.

The office recently moved into this area and I haven’t found a good pasta place yet, walked by a few times so I thought I’d give it a try. The big sign outside reads«Sandwich House Italian Restaurant» so my surprise when I walked in to find Asians behind the counter. I guess if the best tacos I’ve ever had were made by Asians, this should be okay too? I ordered the pasta special, which was linguini with mushroom sauce. There’s really not much to it. I mean, it’s mushroom sauce. But the pasta tasted bland. And would it have killed them to add some greens? An artichoke, perhaps or even parsley? Especially for $ 11. Maybe I should try something with a heartier sauce next time. And the reviews here says the sandwiches are good… so maybe that. I’m willing to give this place another try. UPDATE(5⁄15) So I tried the sandwiches. Too much greens, and the meat was nothing special, more like deli meat you’d find at the supermarket — they’re tasty, and I liked the chicken salad more than the«grilled» chicken. Their half sandwich is practically the size of a full sandwich… but in all honesty, I’ve had better sandwiches at Café Metro, or Europa Café, or Devon & Blakely. I’ve also tried a couple of their soups, and they were somewhat watery. I mean, chowder should be creamy and thin, right???

Updating. Now that I work in fidi and see what my sandwich options really are, I’m really impressed by Sandwich House and will keep coming back. Other sandwich spots with comparable prices are never quite worth the money, but this place really REALLY is. Very pleasant and well proportioned ingredients. Today was my 2nd time here ever and it was delicious. I tried: — grilled chicken on whole wheat(herb mayo, avocado, tomato & greens) — sporessata on white(Dijon mustard, fontina cheese, roasted peppers & greens) Both sandwiches exceeded expectations. And the crust on their whole wheat is SUPERYUMMYFORNOREASON. You get fairly large slices from what look like homemade loaves. This spot looks like it’s supposed to be a phở place — the font, the interior, the Asians behind the counter — but they serve perfect Italian sandwiches(and apparently pastas too). $ 8 – 9 for full sandwiches.

Decided to update my review on this place. My original review was on the eggplant which indeed was terrible. Ive since gone back and decided to give it another shot. I tried the penne Alfredo with grilled chicken and it is actually really good. And then went back and tried the chicken parm which I liked as well. So as much as I hate to admit it this place is pretty good despite my inital experience here. Still stay away from the eggplant!

One of the few lunch spots open in this area on a weekend, and not a bad option at all. I had the carrot-squash soup, which was perfectly comforting and filling without being too creamy or salty. The chicken avocado sandwich with the herbed mayo was excellent. That mayo though! I’m normally not a mayo lover, but I let the sandwich guy do this thang, didn’t request any adjustments, and I’m glad I left sandwich alone and enjoyed it as-is. If I were in the area again I’d try that proscuitto sandwich. The soup with half-sandwich is a perfectly satisfying lunch, and a great deal at just under $ 10. There is no lunch-time deal on the weekends, which I think includes a soda or water for around $ 10.

Came here for pasta: PROS: — seafood pasta(clams, shrimp, and scallop were fresh) — the dish was pretty good — there is seating — food is served pretty fast EHHH: — Vodka Pasta — very salty — they probably put too much cheese — the rye bread that came with the pasta — was bitter and tasted mehh… but that’s rye bread for you

We ended up here for lunch simply because of its location. It is very small and better suited for carry-out. They offer sandwiches and salads and pasta. I would have to think twice about ordering pasta at a sandwich place. It is not a restaurant, so I was not expecting waiter service, so I had to laugh at the person who thought that was an issue. A variety of breads are offered and I just took my sandwich, roasted turkey, as listed. Had I been extremely hungry, that first bite could have been a disaster. The crust could not be penetrated. I had to remove ALL the crust before I could eat the sandwich. It has an «A» rating, which I learned is the best and all restaurants must display their rating near the entrance. It was a quick lunch, nothing more, nothing less.
