Best nail salon in west village. Wendy and her team have always the best attention to detail and have the best quality of nail work. I’ve been going to them for 4 years. Don’t waste your money at spa belles or opt for the cheapest salon. They’re quality and customer service are beyond worth it.

After my daily 4 mile jaunt down the West Side Highway with my best gal(we are unemployed and gettin’ real bored) our dogs were barking. Even though it’s almost done being sandal weather, no one wants to have their dragon toes shooting out of their open toed booties(what are we, animals?) Gal Pal lives right around here and we were feeling lucky and just popped right in. The place was empty and the ladies were very friendly, and they didn’t make weird faces at our bunk tootsies. Solid pedicure, only one up-sell attempt for a longer foot massage– which we declined. $ 28 for a West Village pedicure ain’t too shabby and they had a wide array colors to choose from– most of which looked pretty ok, not too crackly or old. The city of New York thanks Salon de Oasis for transforming my feet into human appendages once again.

My friend and I came here together to get a pedicure. As the ladies started working on our cuticles, I started to squirm in pain. She was really diggin’ deep. Looked over at my friend and she was squirming as well. When she told them it hurt, her lady told her that her skin was too dry. And my lady agreed saying that I had the same problem as well. Then they started muttering things to each other in Chinese, checked to make sure I wasn’t Chinese(I’m Korean), and continued muttering to each other. It was a pretty unpleasant 30 minutes sitting there. And for 28 bucks, I cannot believe how awful my pedicure looks. My nails were cut down as far as possible so they look like little black dots for toes. -. -

I’m a fuss pot and so my standards tend to be very critical, however I can say I was pleasantly surprised by this little place. Tidy, clean and with very gentle staff. Helen did my nails, both hands and feet. I have had hundreds of manicures and I can honestly say I’ve never been fully happy with any of them, because they either make the nails too square(which look like shovels) or too pointy(look like a witches nails) but this lady got them just right. It really doesn’t take much if you follow the bed of the nail but my manicure ventures have been unsuccessful in the past, but she managed to hit the nail on the head; nice and straight with round-y edges but not too round. In other words, I am happy. Happy with the delicate cutticle removal and delighted with the shape of my nails. It’s a shame I live in LA otherwise I’d be here for my regular manicure. Don’t be afraid to give them a try!

Not worth the $ 13 they charged for a manicure. I’ve had much better service for less money.

It’s hard to find a good nail salon. There’s so many places where things can go wrong: old crappy congealed nail polish, overaggressive cuticle clippers, sloppy applications, overpricing… I’m so glad to have found a neighborhood nail place that I can call home. It’s small, intimate, and the staff was soo nice and sweet and cute– and professional, too. As a Chinese gal that doesn’t apparently look like I can speak Chinese, I’ve heard WAY too much negative chatter about customers at nail salons. I even once had a lady talking about me as she was doing my nails.(Hello, does it occur to you that I might understand what you are saying?) Anyways, none of that here. The ambiance was super friendly, and the girls were so nice and sweet. The only thing that wasn’t good was that I was initially told the wait would be «just a few minutes» and it was actually 20 – 30 minutes before my pedicure. The atmosphere was so friendly that the time passed quickly, so I didn’t mind waiting, but I would have rather been told upfront that it would be a while.

so, a few weeks ago i was meeting some people in the west village for some cocktails and such. and as i was meandering toward the destination, i looked at my nails. RAGGED. like i had been living in the wilderness. foraging the earth and trees for wild nuts and berries. capturing and butchering my own fish, fowl and meat with the strength i posses in my bare hands. oh and contrary to popular belief? brooklyn is NOT the wilderness. anyway, i was walking around aimlessly and saw a little nail salon. salon de oasis. 4 manicure stations, 4 pedicure chairs, 4 dryers. now, i am a sucker for a cheap manicure. and this was about $ 2 more than i would pay closer to school or in brooklyn, but it went a week looking good. and that’s a hard sell on these nails. they just always chip. a pedicure was had today on the return trip and it looks spunky and purple as i feel. yes. i feel purple.
