Worst manager ever. We were just having drinks at the rooftop and they asked me to leave because one of the person I was with smoked. I never smoked in my life, the person got thrown off but they still wanted to throw me off. I just stayed there the entire night and did nothing besides enjoying a few drinks with my friends. I think this was disrespectful and hurtful. The management and the s did was really mean to me. I was really disappoint by this place where I thought I would have a really nice time…

Enormous rooftop bar, good drinks and food, trendy atmosphere. We came here for a friend’s birthday party on a sunny Saturday late afternoon — after negotiating the(rather unnecessary) rope line at the front and the sketchy elevator, we arrived into a teeming mass of people surrounding the bar. I’m not a crowded bar type guy, generally, but between the sun and the views, I might actually have made the effort. It seemed like it was probably impossible to sit down in one of the booth-type areas unless you got here very early, though, if that’s what you’re hoping for. However, once we made it through the initial crowds, there were two standing-level tables reserved in back for the party, and it was quite nice! Plenty of servers checking in on the party of 25 or so, ferrying drinks over from the bar and food from the kitchen — the pizzas they were churning out were not Emily-quality, but still above average(making them excellent in the bar food category). The drinks were good and very strong, you’re not getting cheated on alcohol here. I have no idea what the minimum tab was to reserve that area for the party, but it was a really nice setup. On the downside: they seemed to be out of a lot of their beer selections, which was strange for relatively early on a Saturday. Also, the patron-to-bathroom ratio is way way off(like there’s-no-way-this-is-up-to-code off), leading to huge lines. Solid place, though.

Very friendly staff… supremely good cocktails… service was a little slow, even though it wasn’t busy, but loved the drinks and the view. Definitely worth a visit…

Lovely place, good drinks, friendly people. Family-style rooftop tables that facilitated friend-making. Victoria, our server, was wonderful, told us stories, helped us with drinks. We’ll definitely come back.

This place gets busy, but unlike most rooftops in the city, it’s not completely packed. Still, you’ll be hard pressed to find a seat here. The atmosphere is really laid back and casual, but the view isn’t the best.

Nice rooftop for drinks with good company, but at a cost. If you don’t get there early, you could be waiting… until your next birthday.

One of the best NYC rooftop oases out there! A hidden gem(until this past summer). Fabulous cocktails and really delicious(and pricey) bites! The burger is amazing and the hummus is over-the-moon! No reservations taken yet a lot of the tables say«RESERVE,» which is always cute — get there early on a weeknight in order to score a spot. Loving it! Heat lamps will have this rooftop open through the«fall» weather. Eddie Going :)

Okay, there are so many layers to this review. Actual Rating: 4.5 stars. View: 5 stars. Atmosphere: can be 5 stars. Memories up here so far: 5 stars. Service when crowded: 1.5 stars. That wait though: 1 star. So where do I stand? Roof at Park South is my favorite rooftop bars in the city. It’s beautiful and there’s a mix of cocktails The cocktails are slightly above average. I’ve had better craft cocktails but for the type of bar, you can’t set the cocktail standard too high. The truffle fries are good and there is a variety of food available — something that most rooftop bars don’t have. But that wait and the service when its crowded… it gets a little rough. Waiting for two hours to sit down is not something I want to be doing after work on a weeknight(let alone on the weekend). Our waiter forgot we existed during one of our visits. It’s hard to give Roof at Park South such a good rating despite this but… there’s just something about the view and the atmosphere that really make this my favorite rooftop bar in Manhattan.

5 stars for the view, 2 stars for the service, and 2 stars for the drinks. I really wish that I could give Roof a few more stars, but their service is lacking horribly. Constructive criticism, Roof… you need to up-staff on the weekends. The bartender who took our orders took her sweet ol’ time making our drinks because she was too busy chatting up a male customer…5 drinks took her about 10 minutes to make — not including the time I spent waiting for her to close out my tab. Keep in mind that these were mixed well drinks, not some fancy cocktails with 4 – 5 ingredients. My rum and coke was disgusting. The coke was so flat it was pretty much like drinking brown syrupy water + rum, which I guess I should have expected since she poured it out from a half empty bottle that had been sitting on the bar for. who knows how long. I would have asked her to remake my drink, but I really wanted to get back to my group — whom I’d left for 15 minutes by this point. She also messed up my friend’s cranberry vodka the first time around… which I find kind of hard to believe for an NYC bartender. Otherwise, I really liked the rustic décor(the distressed metal sheets that lined the entrance and the elevators were a nice touch) and the openness of the bar area. There is plenty of standing room/counter space, as well as seating area along the periphery of the rooftop. Even large groups were able to find an area to congregate. As for the view… I don’t know how Roof managed to wing this, but even though they are only on the 9th floor, they have a spectacular — quite unobstructed — view of the city. The Chrysler building can be seen on the far left, and although you can’t get a 360 view of Manhattan, the view that you do get is better than that at other — higher — rooftop bars that I’ve been to. Roof does a great job of capitalizing on their air rights! Come here for the view! The dress code is pretty casual, and although some people were dolled up, we were able to get in wearing jeans and sneakers.

Overpriced, crowded, overrated not at all worth the price tag. This is not a cocktail bar, but a rooftop bar. That’s it. Btw it sits on top of the restaurants at curry hill, so you will smell some delicious Indian food on the rooftop(not a problem for me, but might be for others). The whole experience here(compared to Bookmarks at Library Hotel) was just awful. The crowd is your bro /dude type. They create this ambience of exclusivity to get in, but once you’re in it’s like that’s it? They rope off most of the area for the tables so the bar area feels VERY crowded(even by NYC standards). The plus side is the servers and bartenders were friendly and didn’t take themselves too seriously. Now on the drinks — if you offer frozen daiquiris and pina coladas, you’re not a cocktail bar. You want a cocktail bar? Go to PDT /ECC /Pegu Club /Rayne’s Law Room /Nightcap etc. But this ain’t it. I had one cocktail and switched to a beer afterwards bc the price just wasn’t worth it. Ended up going to Bookmarks afterwards to just remember what a real cocktail tastes like. The view from the rooftop is also partially obstructed by the bar area. Only way you get a good view is if you get a table on the right side towards the middle of the rooftop.

This is a hidden gem! This rooftop has good vibes and is not pretentious at all. Patrons of all age come to visit — older couples, yuppies, families. I had one drink while I was there — bohemian. It is a grapefruit flavored gin. It was sooooo yummy. We stayed for 2 hours and the waitress checked up on us maybe 3 – 4 times to make sure that we were fine. Attentive but not overwhelming. Didn’t try the food there but it looks amazing as most other patrons were enjoying the food while drinking as well. Definitely will come visit again!

Visited this place for after dinner drinks with friends on a weekend and the place was bustling with people. The view of the Manhattan from the rooftop is a bit obstructed with nearby tall buildings but if you are comfortable to move around, you may enjoy some nice view. The place has a nice ambiance and their frozen piña colada was high on alcohol which is just the thing u need on a Friday night!

Great view and nice environment however service left something to be desired: — The kitchen was so backed up that it would take 45 minutes for food to arrive — Our waitress tried to take my drink away and get us to order more when I had only drank half of my cocktail. Literally half. — I feel like they should have had one more bartender — it was almost impossible to order a drink during the time we were waiting for a table. For a beer, a glass of wine, and an order of fries, the bill came out to just under $ 35 before tip.

THEYHAVE A $ 30COCKTAILMADEWITHCAVIAR. That’s about all you need to know. But in case you wanted to know more, it’s a trendy rooftop bar that gets crowded. Looked like a lot of work happy hours(which is what brought me here). Non-caviar cocktails are in the $ 14 – 15 range, which is actually not that terrible. Had the Mamie Taylor and the Sazerac. Pretty solid Sazarac(strong too). Drinks took a litlte bit to get, but given how crowded it was, our waitress did a great job remembering everyone’s orders and then finding us. Since there were a bunch of us(and we weren’t paying), we also shared a bunch of food. It’s a step above standard bar food, but bar food nonetheless. Good wings, decent pizza, and a big cheese dip thing. I like that the kitchen is actually outside and you can see the staff at work. I would say come here if someone else is paying. Otherwise, it’s not like rooftop bars are hard to come by in NYC…

The views are great and the cocktails are good, albeit expensive, but, hey, you pay for the view and ambiance. The Roof is a cool place to relax with some one special or just with friends after dinner or, perhaps, brunch on the weekends. I have not tried the food here, but from what I’ve seen and smelled going to other tables, it seems yummy. The wine list looks good, too, but I’ve had daquiris each time because the bartender makes them so good here.

There is something liberating about about drinking on a roof. I love the view and the open sky at the Roof at Park South. Excellent seating options from high chairs and community tables in the bar, and comfy, lazy lounge chairs in the patio. Good sun cover so that you can drink and not fry yourself up. Excellent staff. Good wine list and food you will want to eat even before you’ve had too much to drink. #nosunburn #justdrinks

I came here with my date after we had dinner on a Tuesday night. And although we already ate, the food smelled amazing. Since it’s the summer, my date and I had a piña colada and daquiri. The drinks were both very strong so if you like a heavy pour, this place is great for it. The ambiance of Roof is amazing. The place had a gorgeous view of the midtown skyline and the music was loud enough that you could actually have a conversation with someone. Unlike other rooftops, this place didn’t seem bourgeoisie or pretentious. It was a beautiful and simple rooftop. I’d love to check this place out on a weekend night.

Came for a birthday party and had a blast! First off, Roof is one of the few rooftop bars that don’t charge an arm and a leg for a minimum … $ 500 vs the $ 1500-$ 2500 minimum at other places. Of course, this group of 12 blew past that point but it’s the principle. The upstairs is lovely, kinda like hanging out at your wealthy friends’ rustic penthouse patio. The service was great(thank you, Mervin, for being so attentive). The food was good but honestly I can only really remember the copious number of pizzas we ordered. I only drank vodka and soda but they were good and strong. What I really liked too was that Roof gave us shawls to wear because we weren’t sitting close enough to the heat lamp. Needless to say, the view was phenomenal. The bar area was brisk as we walked through to/fr the bathroom and elevator areas to our private area. There is a very cool outdoor fireplace which we danced next to because the music was so good. Between the combo of rooftop ambience, fantastic views and amazingly great company, this was a great night. Did we like Roof? ummmm, we got there at 7 and then we closed the place. Yup, it was a winner.

3.5 stars! Really beautiful view. This is a small area with many tables and a few couches with fireplaces. We were lucky to come on an empty day with only a few tables taken. They have a huge canopy type thing that covers the tables so there’s shade, but there are also open areas if you wanna catch some rays. We ordered a bottle of wine that was enough for the 4 of us, and I got a watermelon hibiscus lime popsicle. SO refreshing and really tasty, but it was SOSMALL. like 2 inches in length… for $ 3. ehhhh if the flavors weren’t so bomb, I would’ve been more upset. But gosh it was just way too good to complain about it. Their cocktails looked really good too, but this was already our 3rd stop on our boozy afternoon, so wine was sufficient. I’d like to come back though and try their other drinks and maybe even at night so we can enjoy the couches and fireplaces!

I love rooftop bars!!! Well, only because it’s springtime and I’m sick of being indoor all the time! Roof is really cool and quiet. I came around 5pm on a Friday, because i took the day off, so i was the first few folks hanging out here. I was seated at a table for two, with a great view of Chrysler building. Drinks were delicious, but it’s NY price($ 12-$ 15). There were 2 restrooms, one on the first floor before the elevator, and there is another next to the elevator when you exit the rooftop. I like this place a lot because it’s not too crowded(i was there from 5−8pm). Very nice group of staffs too.
