There was actual human shit and toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom. The person in there before me was an employee. That is all.

If I could give this no stars I would. Worst pizza I’ve ever tasted, almost seems like I’m chewing on cardboard… Owner is very very mean too… honestly he has no manners… just feels like he doesn’t care about the life of the shop

The pizza is decent at this place, average for NYC. The customer service is terrible — dudes who just kinda grunt in your general direction. It’s also the kind of place that witholds napkins and only doles out one per extremely greasy slice. It does have awkward pics on the wall of employees with celebrities, if that’s your jam. Otherwise it’s just the place you go if you’re really hungry at that moment, standing in front of it with $ 2.50 in your pocket($ 5 if you’re a fancy slice type).

Late night it’s always loud music playing here. Who cares about the neighbors? I will admit the staff is pretty nice though, despite all the crap they deal with. After 9pm or so they stop selling cheese pizza so they can charge you more. Their pizza is ok, not bad but not great. I just can’t give more than 2 stars to a place that is knowingly trying to charge you more for a slice of pizza. When they say«Sorry, we are all out of cheese. We have ______.»(which is twice as expensive) They’re lying to you.

prob the best ny style pizza on all of 14th street east or west. neutral tasting not too sweet dough(think papa johns), mild cheese, mild sauce. go for whatever is freshiest out of the oven — fluffy, slightly crispy, unburnt perfection.

My husband works close by Rockys and it was my group of 4 that wanted their delicious late night pizza selection. The reason why I am writing this review is because the staff and management at this lovely late night post partying pizza joint, have never done us wrong. The pizza is always warm, fresh, fast and delicious. But what made our night was when my absent minded husband left our shopping bags at the shop. 45 minutes later we realized and called the shop. We were so pleased to hear they had kept it aside for us. To know there are people who are honest and professional puts me at ease. Which is why I will always remain a loyal customer. Thank you Rocky’s staff. Btw: my all time favorite that sometimes gets overlooked is their Sicilian slice. Delicious! Love you guys! Keep being rock stars.

Rocky s pizza is a good place for a quick brick oven pizza. They have 19 different pizza types, and the crust is thin but the end is kind of thick, wich I highly recommend for people from Chicago. The pizza is average but the variety and quickness of the cooking makes it 4 stars.

Wretched. A pox upon the reputation of NY pizza. Why even eat pizza such as this? There is no relationship between this fancied up crap and the Neapolitan classic. Ranch swirls on sloppy joe mix. Why?

I’ve been here once. For the first time I have to say that, I had the best tasting grandma slice, hands down. Soft dough, crunchy crust, and tomato sauce filled with herbs and garlic in the center. Oh my! The place is hard to find a seat and not enough stools by the wall.

Came in here on a late Saturday night, looking for pizza to curb my hunger and drunchies. We saw that the line was long… so it must be good right? Wrong. I should have checked with Unilocal. The pizza tasted dry and lacked flavor. Couldn’t even finish my slice(and I always can finish my slice…) Do not recommend.

Stopped in for a slice on the way home. Crust was dry. Not a good choice. Guys serving slices not having a good night. Would not go back again.

This place is bad. The pizza is below average, barely average when you’re hangry, and the customer service is so horrendous I would rather punch myself in the head than go back there. I’m completely baffled by some of the positive reviews for this place. Maybe it’s one of those«If you build it, they will come. If you stay open later than any other place, they will keep coming. If you over charge, they will assume your food is good.» News flash. The pizza is so-so at best and while it may taste better when you are starving at 1am, it doesn’t change the huge slabs of cheese that slide right off after your first bite, or the too thick crust on a thin slice(make a decision, it’s either a thick crust or a thin crust but this medium business? You just don’t know how to make a good dough). They outrageously over charge here. They charged us $ 5 a slice! FIVEDOLLARS! What are you smoking?! It must be whatever your late night munchies driven customers are smoking. Seriously, over charging for this uncreative interpretation of pizza should be illegal, especially in New York City. Maybe they jacked up the price because it was Halloween night, and they could, they were the only pizza place open for several blocks. I could have maybe gotten over that but the rude guys behind the counter who destroyed the ounce of patience I had left. They barked at everyone. Apparently you should know exactly what you want the minute you walk in or you will get the evil eye(turns out it doesn’t matter what you order because all the slices taste essentially the same). One guy took my order and ignored my friend, even when I repeated his order to make sure they understood we were together. He just walked away. We had to shout to get another guy’s attention to take my friend’s order. Then another customer came back in upset when he realized he had been charged over four dollars a slice. The response was, «I don’t need your business! Get out of here. I don’t want you as a customer!» These guys are awful people and it shows in their pizza. Don’t go here. Just walk on by or get on the L to Union Square and get pizza there.

This place offers what I have found to be so elusive in pizza in this town as of the last decade. Pizza with the good kind of mozzarella and a lot of it! Rockys passed the«stretch test»! When you bite into their slice the cheese stretches. That’s the way New York Pizza used to before this«dollar slice» war that has almost every pizzeria in New York using that skim milk mozz or just plain fake cheese. I had a sausage slice and it was damn good. I also had a square slice which was pretty good but not«prince street pizza» level. I will say they give you more cheese than almost anyone including prince. But I’d come back here for the regular slice. I cannot say enough about how difficult it is to find a cheesy stretchy slice these days! As far as service goes, they are below average. The guy taking my order gave the impression that he was indifferent about being there. But I don’t really care, it’s a pizza joint not a 5 star dinning experience, get me my slice quickly and and it better be good. They accomplished that. They are booked marked and officially on the short list of Bruce approved Slices.

My NYC tour guides asked me «Izz, what do you want to get out of your day here?», i replied with one word… «Pizza». Ok, so maybe there was more — but pizza was top priority. I am not a local and Rocky’s was the only pizza spot i tried out of the hundred i saw that day. I felt like it had to be a great example of NY pizza because it didn’t dissapoint, even with the high expectations. You just have to get the right pie. So this joint has the available pies on display — all pre-cooked. They weren’t labeled but it isn’t tooo hard to figure out what’s what. I asked the guys a question or two and they weren’t rude by any means(as i read a few comments about rudeness). Once you give them your order they grab the slices and toss them in the oven to re-heat, so it just takes about 2 minutes. I had the chicken parm and bbq chicken. If you’re the type that prefers BBQ sauce over ketchup, the BBQ chicken may be for you — i liked it but the sauce was just a tad sweet. The chicken parm was the recommended slice by my guides and it was ipso factoriously really good. It wasn’t what i thought was«NY style»(as in thin crust and girly). This chicken parm slice was meant for a viking, so it was a perfect match for me. This place is F’n wicked hot though. I’ve got lava flowing through my veins, so the whole no AC/fans sitting 10 feet from an oven thing just about killed me. The guys that work here were all sweating bullets, so i could understand how they might get snappy from time to time. All in all, aside from almost sweating to death, i really liked Rocky’s.

It’s such a shame when good pizza is paired with such horrendous service. I came in here with two friends and one of them had to use the bathroom. Marked employees only, we asked politely if we can use the bathroom.(I’ve been here before and I’ve definitely used the bathroom, no questions asked). They rolled their eyes and waved us off with an air of distaste. As they have a large selection of pizza, my friend and I were taking our time looking over the options and they kept pressuring us to choose our slice. Not even one minute later, they accused us of not buying slices and«d!cking» around and wasting their time just so we could use the bathroom. We were shocked and were trying to explain we were legitimately deciding which slice to get. They kept going and accusing us of not buying pizza. It made no sense especially given there was no line behind us whatsoever. Needless to say it left us with a bad taste in our mouth. Obviously this is not a place where we should expect good service with $ 4 pizza, but at least can expect to be treated with respect. *Note: This is probably the first negative public review I’ve ever left but I couldn’t let this rest. Enjoy the pizza at your will but I will never be coming back here again.

I didn’t think it was possible to get shitty pizza in NYc but this place proved me wrong. Their sauce was soooo sweet, just gross. Their crust was also kinda sweet but at least it was thin and crispy. In my defense, I didn’t wanna come here but it’s a holiday and the good places I tried first were closed. Clearly this place is for those whose standards have first been lowered by booze

Stopped by here after a night of drinking. It’s of drinking. They probably could have put some cheese on cardboard and I would have found it delicious! Just kidding, I am a serious pizza eater in the wee hours of the morning. I got the pesto slice and the beef slice. The pesto was delicious with these cool square looking pieces of mozzarella on the slice. I had to get it because it looked so nice! The beef slice was very average and dry. Would recommend skipping it. The crust on the slices was great and crispy. All in all, this place hits the spot for your pizza hankering!

Decent average slice outside of meatpacking along the 14th street corridor. Good for a quick bite and not much else. There’s not much vibe per se but it does the job when your purpose is to pick up. A slice and scarf it down. There’s not much way in the matter of customer service. Order by pointing to what you want and that’s that. They do have an abundance of choice but none look all that appetizing. However, the chicken parm leaped out at me and that was the one I took a stab at. After paying and a few minutes of heating the pizza in the oven, it arrived on a paper plate and was lukewarm. Not exactly that great either… Figuring not to express my dissent, I ate the thing and vowed not to return. There are plenty of option along 14th St after all. This is one you might want to skip unless you can’t think of any other choices.
