I was here for a friend’s 24th birthday. He is British and loves music. Music, British flags, burgers and beers; What more could a guy ask for on his birthday? We went for dinner and got the«huge» burger. Anyone that has been to places in the city that serves a real, big burger will know this place is selling white caste size burgers. The place worked out great for our party of 8. The staff was very hopeful!

I had purchased a Gilt City certificate for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert to share, back in April. I went to meet my friend(who lives in NYC) there and we were confused because there was no such restaurant with the name Rockography. Eventually we figured out it was renamed Blitz. Anyway, after an initially confusing experience, we ordered our food. We shared the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and Crab Cakes for appetizers — both were excellent. I had the Filet Mignon which was incredible, perfectly cooked, and an excellent cut of beef. My friend had the Kielbasa, which she liked. For dessert, we shared the flourless chocolate cake which was unbelievably rich(a good thing!) The food was overall really good, I was impressed. I have to say though I was a bit disappointed when I called a week before the voucher expired to make a reservation and was told the restaurant was closed for the week. No mention of the fact that it was reopening as a different restaurant, under a different name, which would have been helpful. The food and drink menu had changed from the Rockography menu — no mention of this on the website. I live in Connecticut and I specifically traveled into NYC to visit this restaurant because I love rock ‘n roll music and was really into the concept of the restaurant. I was so disappointed to see it had reopened and become basically the same thing as any other restaurant I could have gone to in Connecticut or NYC. The service was excellent though — our waitress was friendly and prompt. And, if we couldn’t have the rock ‘n roll décor I had so been looking forward to, at least they had flat screen TVs throughout the restaurant that had the Yankee game on.

Went here with one of my girls for cocktails and junk food. The décor is reminiscent of Hard Rock but the music is better. Our server was pretty nice. The specialty cocktails were pretty yummy. The wings were pretty good, the drunken beer dip could’ve been warmer but we still ate it because we were hungry. The FU burger was the highlight of the meal. We split the brownie sundae dessert and wished the brownie was warmer. A decent spot but not anything to go out of your way for.

Cute concept and they could easily improve my rating with a few minor alterations. The rock & roll concept is cute and kitschy and the menus are fun to look at(plus the screen with the music videos) but the music being played is excessively loud making it hard to carry a conversation or even hear the wait staff. Add to the stew that the smokers outside are so close that if you’re sitting near the bar you’re somewhat going to taste and smell that far too clearly. The food was just so-so but the bar menu is pretty adventurous and fun. I also give props to anyplace with a vintage KISS pinball machine. Props to the wait staff though for trying very hard and for a truly solid effort which not many places like this will give you.

Came here on a Saturday night with the Gilt City package. The food was quite subpar, the sides for the steak i ordered(which was rubbbery) were instant mashed potatoes and boiled frozen peas and carrots. For dessert, we got what was likely McCain’s velvet cake.

I saw the Deep Fried Peant Butter and Jelly Sandwich on Scene In NY and knew I had to have it. That day I made a choice– a choice to live a life where Friend Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches were not some far off urban legend, but a reality to be celebrated and… eaten. So, we went. We had to go, really. The excitement was overwhelming as we walked in, took our seats at a table by the window and skimmed the menu to confirm that the treasure we sought was indeed on the menu. By the way, all the food here looks good. The menu will make your mouth water. While there were lots of things I couldn’t eat(kinda kosher restrictions being in place), I know there are a number of things I will come back to try. The sandwich arrived. Crispy, warm, and AMAZING. I mean seriously… imagine a deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Now imagine people handing you money. Tasting it is like those two great, great things combined. What else should you know? The crowd is very chill(lovely new friend bought us drinks). The staff is laid back(yes… double edged sword on that one). The atmosphere is nice(I found being surrounded by anything and everything music comforting). A definite positive addition to the area.

I went here simply for the deep fried PB&J sandwich. Actually, I went here twice for the deep fried PB&J sandwich but the place was closed for a private party the first time and so I had to make the trip again — it was worth it. Fried. Peanut Butter. And Jelly. Sandwich. What could be bad??? We split the aforementioned mouth-watering sandwich as well as the meatloaf. It was a good plan because 1) the meatloaf was outstanding and 2) the sandwich was more like a dessert than a main course and too sweet/rich to eat the entire thing. Great happy hour special — two for one beers. And not Bud or Coors — but Blue Moon and Sam Adams! My only complaint was that the creamed corn and mashed potatoes that came with the meatloaf were a bit cold. Tasty, but cold. Oh, and I loved the classic rock music videos!

If you have a coupon for this place it is certainly worth it because: The food is pretty good, though somewhat heavy, but that depends on what you order(chicken wings and skirt stake were a great choice, potato chips with bacon and blue cheese — not so much). Also, the staff is really great and friendly and deserves five stars. The décor is nice too. I am not giving this place four stars only because if you have to pay full price for the food, it is kind of expensive.

this is just, sad. inside, be prepared for blacklights beaming like LIGHTSABERS that pour onto your dreary tables, that disappointingly hold up your cocktails that taste like sour mix(or is it antifreeze?) *only* and your peanut butter-pretzel-sardine-jelly-cheese-macaroni-blahblahblAGH fried*original*cool* ‘wich i can’t even waste more energy expressing the distasteful awfulness encompassed within this vicinity(if i haven’t already) oh, people were nice.

Living around the corner, I eagerly awaited the opening of Rockography. I have to say though, I was seriously disappointed. Where do I begin: As has already been mentioned, the«rock» theme is very cheaply done. I feel like it was chosen from the ‘theme restaurant’ catalog. They stopped the music it seemed every 10 minutes, so there wasn’t even anything consistent playing. Half of the TVs were on sports, so I think the bar has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a rock bar? a sports bar? Also, such a theme(if executed properly) would be better suited on the Lower East Side, not Greenwich Village. I just couldn’t get into the feel. This is also a Friday night and I would say the restaurant was about a third full… not a good sign. The food and service: For an appetizer I ordered the Dirty Chips(or something like that). It’s pretty much kettle chips with nacho cheese, bacon, bleu cheese, and chives. This wasn’t bad though the cheese could have been warmer. It was cold after the first 5 min. I’m not a big fan of bleu cheese so I asked that it be served on the side. When it came out, it was crumbled all over the top. I didn’t make a fuss about it, though it was a little annoying. Next, I ordered the double cheeseburger with a side of tator tots(an extra $ 5 for the tator tots). The burger was brought to my table with chips. I immediately brought it to the attention of the wait staff who said he would go back and get the tator tots. Alas, I never saw them, but what I did see was the guy hanging out socializing at the hostess stand. The burger was good, but pretty uneventful. It’s was a double cheeseburger with tomato, lettuce and onion. Nothing more. Nothing less. My dinner companion ordered a Big Bowl Cobb Salad which was very good. It had a bit of a kick which was welcome on what can sometimes be rather bland. To top off what was really a pretty poor performance, I received the check to find that not only was I charged for the tator tots I never received but some how the burger was also $ 2 more than the menu price. How does this happen??? The waitress quickly corrected it. Even so, $ 44 is a bit much for an average burger and a salad. While the food was pretty uninspiring, the service really killed this place. The place was clearly NOT busy. Considering this, I expected that I wouldn’t have to ask for more water, but I did. Besides the food service, I noticed both(unisex) restrooms could have used attention. These are JUST things you do, especially when you’re not busy. The staff was very unorganized and not really focused on the customers. If it was my money invested in this place, I might be getting a little nervous. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it’s given me no reason to return. Sorry Rockography. I wonder what’s going to pop up next in this spot. There seems to be about a 12 month turnover.

Great tunes and great food. I didn’t even wait to get home to write a review(I am doing it from my phone while Bachman Turner Overdrive blasts). I braved the F U burger(a behemoth that is a triumph of the meat arts) and was thoroughly pleased. Plus the fact that they have a full bar lined with Marshall stack amps, rock memorabilia lining the walls, and a friendly/knowledgable staff makes this place a routine stop for me when in the city. Throw up the horns for this place! \m/

This place is like a wannabe Hard Rock Café lite.(That’s not a good thing) The wait staff is very good and I had an excellent bartender but the décor and vibe are just lame imitations of a rock club. A for service, C– on venue

BOOOOOO! .great concept but epic fail. this place sucks. could have done so much more with it if they hired older experienced rock and rollers. first of all– Led Zeppelin video was labelled 1975 when the song was actually from 73 and the video they were playing was from 1979. I heard about this place from an email. seemed cool but i kind of had a feeling it would be like a cheesy planet hollywood and it totally is. 5:30 on a Thursday. I sit at the bar. My man goes to the bathroom. 3 staff members were huddled with their backs to the bar around a touch screen cash register. I waited 5 minutes for my man to get back. still was not even acknowledged nobody even turned around. my man returns. still the huddle. just a tip, you don’t need 3 people to figure out whatever it is you’re doing. there were about 5 – 10 people at the bar. bartenders should probably bartend. here’s a tip: when someone sits down at a bar they usually want a drink. and if you are going to bartend you should maybe ask a patron what they would like to drink. so this continued with no service or even acknowledgment for another 10 minutes. i finally was able to ask for a few menus from the one female bartender who finally turned around from the huddle but was rolling her eyes. she then offers us a cup and a quarter if we want to play quarters and never gets us the menus we asked for. I had to get up and get them from the waitress stand. they dont have tap beer. they dont know what they are doing. they dont rock. whoever is running this place you should probably be present, learn more about rock and roll and not hire shy/timid staff/bartenders that are more concerned with refilling cups popcorn or offering to play a game of quarters than bartending. I dont get it. service so bad i said out loud at the bar, gonna definitely have to Unilocal about this. i was looking forward to trying the food because the menu looked good but didnt even want to bother since they couldnt even get it together at the bar. :(

Seriously lame, people. Had to eat my overpriced food and drink to Avril Lavigne’s «Sk8ter Boy» BLASTING in my face! This place would probably do more business if it was located in the Cleveland airport. No wait, the Cleveland airport’s actually much more interesting. Generic stock band posters all over the walls. Nothing to do here except play their Kiss pinball machine. Kiss! Sick bro! Literally not a single original thought went into this bar, just a lot of wasted $$ (This is my first Unilocal review. This place sucked so bad I started a Unilocal account. WOW.)

Yummy cocktails, great appetizers and burgers, and popcorn in tin cups. If you know the legends of rock n roll, you’ll love this place! Went here Saturday night waiting for a friend. As soon as I walked in, I sat by the bar. The décor of the place was amazing! Posters of rock legends all over the walls and their music videos playing on the flatscreens. I was quickly greeted the friendly and cute bartenders. I ordered the Bacon strips and mini corndogs. The Bacon was well marinated and the corndogs were addicting. I really enjoyed seeing the condiment bottles in mini shopping carts. My friend finally came and enjoyed the place as much as I did. He ordered the F.U. Burger and man, THAT was Burger. 16 oz. Burger, onion rings, lettuce, Bacon, tomato deepfried in velveeta cheese and a sunnyside egg. My friend had quite the meal =) We couldn’t leave without trying the cocktails that were named after songs. Stairway to Heaven definitely caught my eye(because of the nutella they put on the rim ;)) and my friend grabbed Less Conversation. Loved both. Can’t wait to go back with more friends :)

Sorry you can’t brag your $ 18 burger until you can cook it right. Medium rare is not raw(literally) nor is it well done. +1 star for the nice service.

I’d like to think i am a burger aficionado around the city and I know agood burger when I taste one. The FU Burger is pretty awesome. Its giant so dont expect to finish it on your own. It has bacon, onion rings, fried egg with a brisket and rib ground beef patty. It topples 8″ high and it was the center of attention at the bar. I only ate less than half and I was pretty full. I dig the décor since its the only gritty rocker bar that popped up suddenly on the west village like an unsightly blemish. All the previous owners rented/leased this location out and seemed all businesses had a life span of 3 months. I like the fact that this location mamnaged to get a liquor license so quickly, so it will stay a bar. I like to see rock/punk coming back, especially at such a pristine and snot nosed west village. so much mainstream has stamped out any underground scenes, I like a bit of reminiscence of what was really cool back then. In w. vil its not another vegan rabbit food, pretentious wine bar, lame a** spot.

I’m in LOVE … with the brand, spankin-new makeover, the attentive staff, the fantastic drinks and DEEPFRIEDPB&J sandwiches!!! Seriously, my fiancé and I stopped in here on our way to dinner last night thinking we’d grab a cocktail before our reservation. The bartender greeted us by asking if we liked games and knew how to play Quarters. After saying that we did, he told us that if either of us could get the quarter in the shot glass, he’d give us any shot we wanted for free– I knew we were in the right place. Between the two of us, we tried three drinks: Less Conversation, Comfortably Numb and Sympathy for the Devil. All three were delicious and refreshing … needless to say, we cancelled our dinner reservations to sample the fare. The Mini Corn Dogs were hot and crunchy on the outside and served with condiments like ketchup and BBQ sauce in a mini shopping cart(very cute). The potato chip nachos(can’t find the official title because I think they’re new on the menu) were really good with Velveeta and perfectly cooked bacon. The Drunken Dip was my least favorite, but still pretty decent. I saw a girl eating the PJ&J and knew I had to try it. It came out perfectly warm and dusted with powdered sugar, along with potato chips and a small container of milk. So glad my fiancé and I split it because it was really decadent. I can’t think of a better combination for success in a restaurant than great food, great drinks, great music, great staff. I have a feeling this will soon become one of my favorite neighborhood hangouts.

wandered in and found it was the opening week. we were a a bit hesitant since new restauarnts often take a while to ’ get it together’ … This was NOT the case here ! The place ran like a well oiled machine. Our server was friendly and very attentive . The atmosphere was fun a although the muic was a bit on the loud side. Still a great place to go with a group(especially people who enjoy good music) The food was good and the potions were very generous and dont recall the name of appetizerwe got some sort of i kettle chips and blue cheese and other garnishes. it was interesting and df worth a try .the chili could have used a little more kick(but I tend to like more spicy food) Oh and the fried Pb& J WASTODIEFOR!!! get it!!! Doi it! Order two! overall I woould recommend it … good vibe, cool wait staff, really fast service. GREATMUSIC …

Rockography was very good. They just opened Monday night and you could tell. The service was great, our waiter was very nice but it was a little choppy with getting out our food and drinks. I am sure no fault of our waiter, kitchens can just be a bit clumsy when they first open. THE F.U. Burger was very good and huge! The fried PB&J was DELICIOUS. I love that it came with the little milk cartons we used to get in grammar school with lunch. The Rock theme is a bit much. The menu’s are cool but then the dessert menu on a CD is overkill. We get it. You like rock n roll. Also it seemed like they put all this effort into the apps and entres and then got to creating to dessert and were like okay, fuck it. Let’s put a cheesecake and apple pie and some other dessert staples on here and call it a day. All in all, the food was very good as were their specialty cocktails. I will definitely go back and I am excited to try for brunch.(Make your own Bloody Mary? Don’t mind if I do!)
