Jerome’s…how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. You can try to change the name, but can’t change the vibe! So for those of you who missed the dramatic back story, this on-point dive used to be rambunctious and epic punk club«St. Jerome’s» where a pre-famous Lady Gaga was a go-go dancer who dated the owner. Everyone went there to get wasted, do coke, and forget about their lives. The world thought the bar was dead forever after Hurricane Sandy, when owners of the Delancey & the DL bought the space and cleaned it up. Everyone thought it would become a horrible bro-pocalypse and the neighborhood elders widely condemned the approval of a new liquor license. But they didn’t have to worry… LOANDBEHOLD, IT’S STILL A DIVE, a weirdo one and not as crazy as the P-p-p-pokerface version. They play bad alt-rock and have a rainbow disco ball for no reason. They currently have a chalk Prince tribute outside and a photo gallery of naked ladies. If you’re lucky you can catch porn playing on the TV. I go here all times of the day and night. Why? a quiet drink by myself on a weekday, or I’m wilin’ out after midnight, or I want to meet a Tinder date but don’t want to spend much time with them, or I just want to sit my ass in a pleather booth like it’s 2011, or I want a CHEAP beer(only $ 4). The spirit of St. Jerome’s can never be broken!

Always end up coming to Jeromes after work! Love this place, love the bartenders, and Brooklyn lager in a can?! Yes please! Bouncers are attentive and they actually smile! Bartenders always make sure everything is good with all of their clients. I had a tequila ginger ale that was made with a tequila I wasn’t really a fan of and the bartender replaced it without even fighting or arguing like most bartenders would do. Always a good crowd, always a good DJ when I’m there!

This place is the worst. The bartenders destroy any cool atmosphere it could have with their aggressively rude attitudes.

If you like a bar full of coke heads, this is the bar for you. You can probably cop some of that snow white from the out of place fellow that stolls in at 10pm and takes frequent trips to the latrine with customers. Other than that, it’s the same old douchebag filled Jeromes. It just seems like the music(somehow) got worse and the patrons don’t all dress like they stepped out of motley crue video. This place is full of pretentious, over the hill, wannabe rock stars and aspiring to be losers.

Love this place. Happy hour specials are great and they last much later than other neighboring bars in the area. There was only one bartender working, but she provided great service and was able to handle everyone quickly and efficiently and checked in on us regularly. There was lots of seating and the bar wasn’t too crowded, but played great music and was decorated in such a way that the vibe was nice and laid back. What a great«dive» for the area. A really good place to just hang with friends and get a few drinks and stay out really late.

I’ve come here countless times. It’s my mainstay. Good liquor, awesome employees, nice music selection, decent atmosphere, etc. I’ve met Lady Gaga here twice, and yes, she bought me a shot as we discussed Led Zeppelin. That’s another story for another day but if you’re a fan, maybe you’ll get lucky and catch her at the bar. It’s not quite the dive it used to be when the place was known as St. Jerome’s but don’t expect glitz and glamour. You’re lucky if the floor is 100% clean. But, still, the drinks and staff are a reason to keep coming back. Come here! You won’t regret it.

Hello? Is it me you’re looking for? I was utterly confused when seeking out Rivington F&B. The address looked correct(155 Rivington), but it was definitely a dive bar with the name«Jerome’s» written in graffiti style font on the front door. After doing several double takes between my phone and the front door, I decided to walk in. Sure enough I was at the right place. As confusing as it was to establish where I’d just walked into, the result was pretty great. It’s a dive with good music, a young, friendly owner(Jonas), and the«F&B» portion of the namesake coming into play with a small menu of easily identifiable bar bites. Grilled cheese, sliders, etc… I settled on the chicken wrap with avocado and bacon with Thai chili sauce and it was very satisfying. I’d put it on the elevated end of the pub grub spectrum as it was certainly of higher quality than most. A welcome surprise given how divey the surroundings were. One of those«don’t judge a book by its cover» situations for sure. Check it out if you’re in the ‘hood. Especially if you’re a fan of no frills, dive bar environments.

One of my favorite New York dive bars. I had my birthday and my going away party there. Bartenders are all nice. The music is always good and so is the crowd. I even saw Lady Gaga there a few years back! We all know the LES seems doomed but support Jeromes and places like it. We need them now more than ever!

I turned to my friend and asked, «Why do I like this place so much?» He said, «Cheap booze. Good people. Good music.» Riiiight, thats why. I never got to see St. Jerome’s in all its glory, but I’ve been referring to this bar by it’s original name since I met a friend there a few weeks ago. Rivington F&B just doesn’t roll off the tongue. I love that I can come here on a weekend and still hear great rock music and have conversations. The DJ was also playing a great mix that included stuff from the 60’s and 70’s, and maybe even a little funk. There’s a back room with some kind of disco ball. I never ventured there, I wasn’t sure if that’s where they played the usual dance/house/whatever music or not, and was too comfortable where I was to find out. Bartenders were on the ball all night. Three bathrooms. Booths to sit in if you’re so inclined. I’ll be back, probably sooner rather than later. ETA: I recently heard The Dandy Warhols«Bohemian Like You». Nice.

A home away from home! There are so many regulars here that show up nearly daily it’s easy to make new friends that you see more often than some of your other friends. The drinks are priced really well(especially during happy hour) and the weekly parties they have go into the wee hours! The staff is awesome as well! Also, be sure to try their grilled cheeses!

What is there to say, if there’s one place that you MUST go to in the Lower East Side, this is the place. Look no further. The bar is well stocked, the décor is trendy and upscale and the vibe is mellow; not your typical run-of-the-mill downtown Manhattan bar scene. Unlike other hotspots around the city, you can actually walk in here on a Friday at midnight with your friends and still find a place to sit(Pianos, I’m looking at you). A special shoutout from the great service I receive from all of the fantastic bartenders here, particularly the lovely long-haired lady Danielle. They all provide service with a smile, something that’s unheard of in venues with similar vibes like Pauls Baby Grand or MaxFish. All in all, you can’t go wrong with this joint. It’s not a club, it’s not a dive bar, but it’s a place that fits somewhere right in the middle. Bring your friends, your coworkers, and your inhibition.

So much nicer than the previous St. Jerome’s but still maintains a cool vibe, which can be hard to find on the LES these days. Usually has a good rotation of music and DJs as well. Great selection of beers, and they actually have decent wine. Also def try a grilled cheese before the end of the night! RFB is one of my favorite spots in the neighborhood.

Okay this was a decent little place. Came here for an afterwork event and loved the hole in the wall entrance(didn’t even realize there were two doors until the bouncer yelled at us for opening the wrong one. he was a wee bit of a poopy head actually). the ambience once you get inside is perfectly dark and lively. There were seats at the bar so we sat and made chit chat with the tall guy behind the bar(I wrote his name down so I could remember but then I lost the paper… I want to say it was like Jim or Tony or possibly Jared? sorry) who was awesome at keeping the drinks flowing for the whole time we were there(and it was select open bar so I know he was tired of making the same 3 drinks the whole night). Not sure what their usual clientele are like but they played decent rock-ish music. I’d come here again just to check it out though hopefully there is a different bouncer because he just didn’t seem that pleasant even when we left.

Ok, so it’s been like forever since I’ve ventured down to the LES. When a friend suggested going to a bar in these parts, I was a bit hesitant. I’m so glad peer pressure kicked in and we arrived at Rivington F&B. It’s a like a rock bar. Some 70s and 80s rock playing with some accompanying music videos in the background. The booths along the wall are great for a small group hanging out. And the bar had some ridiculously awesome specials going on. I have to admit I forgot what those special were but it had to have been some kind of 10 beers special because my friends came back with 10 beers for the group. Like the Costco of bars I guess. Best to buy in bulk. I will definitely be back here to enjoy some cool tunes and cheap beers on a Friday night.

In the space of the former St. Jeromes, opens the LES’ newest addition to nightlife– Rivington F&B. In an area(or city, for that matter) saturated with bars, it takes a lot to stand out; this place doesn’t. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice on the inside, but very basic. The tunes the DJ was«spinning» were good– an eclectic mix of 50’s-60’s rock; my mom would’ve loved it. The beer selection was slim. They offered some bottles and a few cans– Coors Banquet Beer will run you $ 4. Any cheap can of beer over $ 3 is pretty absurd, but unfortunately par for the course in NYC. There were numerous banquettes in the front bar for groups to sit, as well as bar stools at the bar, and also a lot of open space. There’s a back room that wasn’t open on their first night. They are also supposed to be serving F with their B, sometime in the near future– Light fare, personal pizzas and such. I only stayed for one beer, as the fumes from the fresh paint, glue, etc. were noxious– they may have rushed the opening a tad. I might be back once they have food, just to see what that’s like, but it definitely won’t be my go to even though its on my block.
