I’ve been wanting to eat here for a while now, and when the wait at Hotel Chantelle was too long on a Friday night, we decided to stop in here. Got a table for 5 right away in the back, and service was prompt and friendly. I ordered an Old Fashioned, which was well made. To eat, we had the spinach dip to start, and it was one of the best I’ve had — I just which it had been a larger portion because for 4 of us, it went very quickly. I got the truffle mac and cheese as my meal, which of course was yummy because, how could it not be. My complaint about it was that there was actually TOO much truffle oil used, so much so that it overpowered the cheese and was all I could taste. I did like the creamy texture and breadcrumbs on top though. Had a bite of my friends’ burger and grilled cheeses, and they were both good. Another tablemate got the fried chicken sandwich, which I had also been considering, and he liked it as well. Sandwiches are around $ 14 and don’t come with fries. A latecomer friend ordered sweet potato fries and while I normally love those, these were… strange. They had some very strong savory seasoning that just didn’t go well with the light sweetness of the sweet potato, and remain largely untouched. I would go back and try some other stuff on the menu, just to get a better overall idea of the food.

Excellent choice for a group late night dinner. Delicious Mac and cheese fried calamari will be remembered. Both red and white wine selection is pretty good. Our group of 7 – 8 people was accommodated pretty quick.

I could eat the avocado toast every morning for breakfast. The place itself is really nice, and the service is great. I will definitely continue to go back.

Originally went to Freeman’s for brunch around 4 and was told they were closing up but recommended Schiller’s since they do brunch until 5 on Sunday. We’ll they definitely pointed us in the right direction. I ordered the steak and eggs and my GF ordered their breakfast. Service was quick and easy and the overall feel of the place is clean and homey. Plenty of natural lighting and you can actually hold a convo here without screaming! Score there.

I’ve been here for brunch and also ordered from here via postmates. I think, like most meals, foods taste better in person than delivery. Service wise, it’s a bit slow, the waiter forgot to bring sauce for my meal, was slow with water refills etc. However they were polite etc. so you can’t really complain. Food-wise, their béchamel sauce was one of the best I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese was disappointing(we thought of adding the béchamel to the Mac and cheese!). Otherwise brunch is standard. Delivery — food arrived decently warm, presentation was lacking but the salmon was nicely cooked as was the burger. I’m not certain I’d go back, given the abundance of brunch spots in the city; however, if you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by.

I live around the corner(literally) and my friend from out of town was here and we were looking for a quick brunch… I’ve been here for drinks before(which has been fine) but never to eat… and now I know why. The place has this great old fashioned vintage feel to it which is lovely… I like it… Ok on this particular day– when we went in for brunch it was like 1030AM ish… and the place was relatively empty(ok very empty)…Then why give a patron the smallest table in the restaurant when there are more than 10 others to choose from? Then on top of us getting seated at a table the was meant for munchkins in the Wizard of Oz-we unfortunately get seated next to what I lovingly call B.O. girl… PEOPLE in NYCSHOWER PLEAAAASSSSEEEEE-especially if you are going into a public place and don’t let the rest of us suffer(OK being seated next to the Body Odour Girl was not Schiller’s fault). Then we also had the girl who was seated at a bigger table next to us that was screaming(I do mean screaming) F bombs all over the place every other word was F*ck…I know it’s a free country and she can say whatever she wants but it was yelling(also not Schiller’s fault)…just a mention. The staff is kind of snotty and fake(Ok very fake) and are more interested in socializing with each other that in helping tables… Anytime we needed anything we were always looking for a server-any server-not just ours-we couldn’t find him most of the time. The food took FOREVER to get to us… so much I wanted to join another table who had received their food after waiting quite a bit as well. Everything seemed semi fresh and had a great taste to it… We both had Eggs Benedict which is pretty tasty(but very, very cold-maybe because our server wasn’t paying attention and had it just sitting there while he talked to his friends). *Other people are saying how overpriced this place is-I will have to agree… it appears to be a local neighborhood place trying to be more than it is*. I won’t be back for breakfast or probably any meal but I will be back to have a drink at the bar… where service and prices are better. I’m just really disappointed because this place is around the corner and I wanted somewhere I could grab a bite this will not be it unfortunately-Schiller’s you need to try harder-way harder… If you want to be part of the neighborhood. you shouldn’t be robbing us blind and maybe rethink your waitstaff and hire people who actually want to work and doesn’t think that the patrons that are coming in paying their paychecks are a nuisance. Sorry-Truth.

So ridiculously expensive. I am a loyal Keith McNally patron who frequents all of his restaurants. Imagine visiting your neighborhood restaurant one day then going months-maybe a year later and everything is 30% more. This is now Schiller’s. Service is always good, period. They do this right and always have. Look at photos of the menu 1, 2, 3 years ago and compare the prices to present day. It’s absurd and in no way in line with being a neighborhood spot. The average burger used to be $ 12, it’s now $ 19 and not as good; many other items used to be approx $ 15-$ 17 and are now mid-$ 20s and up. Sad, really. Tourists may pay this price as will«newbies» who don’t know any better. It’s a rip-off, folks.

Brunch and Munch! Schillers liquor bar has a lot of character with an old school theme that has a great menu of food and drinks. When I got in here with my buddy we picked out a table, took a seat, and was quickly greeted by our nice waitress. I got a coffee and we both got avocado toast which was amazingggggggggg! The avocado toast had a crunchy bread with the smooth creamy avocado topped with poached eggs which when it breaks the goeyness just drips over the toast and makes every bite taste so good. In addition we got the nachos which were so cheesy and made just right. The coffee was strong and delicious too. In short: — Great for Brunch — Avovado toast is where its at — Friendly wait staff

Love this place!!! Been here several times now and the atmosphere is great. They do have a new chef. It was good but not as spicy and I loved the spice/taste it usel to have! The drinks are still great!!! Especially the sangria, it’s amazing! Love the place and will be back! Got a very nice reply from the management today. I really appreciate a restaurant who cares enough about their customers to reply to reviews. Next time I will ask for more spice and believe me, there will be a next, and a next and a next because this is one of my favorites in LES.

My friend and I did a double date for brunch here last weekend and we all were excited to get together again, as it had been a really long time since we last saw each other. Initially, JJ and I really liked the vibe inside – it was loud and antique-y, and the crowd was right around our age. Plus, the hosts let us sit, even though the entire reservation hadn’t arrived yet. JJ and I settled down with some coffee(a whopping $ 4.50, even if it was Stumptown and bottomless), and worked our way through the menu once the rest of the party arrived. We shared the biscuits and gravy($ 16) and the kale salad($ 13). The biscuits and gravy weren’t anything special, but the kale salad was passable – lots of chopped kale, shavings of cheese, and a few nuts for texture. My friend’s French toast looked and tasted heavenly, and came with a mound of sliced fruit on top. Her plate easily stole the show. Overall, Schiller’s is a comfortable place to have a meal, but the food is nothing special and wildly overpriced for the taste and quality.

Schiller’s reminds me a lot of The Smith — traditional and solid American food housed in a beautiful environment, albeit noisy. I came here with 2 friends for dinner and easily made our reservation on OpenTable. I highly recommend using OpenTable as this restaurant is packed and those that did not have a reservation had a long wait. My friends and I all enjoyed our meals. I had the brisket sandwich and my friends had the chicken paillard and the salmon. We all loved our meals.

Cute environment, good drinks but the food left a lot to be desired. It was just meh, I wasn’t impressed with my salad and chicken because it was just salad and chicken. The other food looked ok, not amazing. The drinks were really innovative and interesting though and would make me come back for those… just not the food.

Perceptions might we skewed because we dropped a lot of $$ on their top line oysters but omg I’ve never had better oysters! So plump and smooth, my eyes light up just thinking about them. This is one of the places that someone mentions and I exclaim: «I loveeee schillers!!!» Sat at the bar and the bartender was the best. He didn’t judge us when we said we wanted to split a Manhattan — made the one drink in two separate glasses and it was strong and delicious Pretty chill vibe, a little romantic with the dark lighting and I think there were real candles on tables(I always like places with real candles)

I’m definitely biased when it comes to bars with this atmosphere, being an LES resident, but Schiller’s has some good things to offer. Twice this has been my «back up plan» after hitting Russ & Daughters or Clinton Street Baking for brunch only to be told it will be a two hour wait behind the crowd of tourists clutching their guide books. I have also been in here a few times for an evening cocktail. I’ve always found the staff to be helpful enough. The food tastes fresh and good. The atmosphere is great in the warm months because they open up all the windows and it almost feels like you’re dining outside. There are definitely better places for brunch in the LES but this is a competitive neighborhood for food. If you want the laid back LES vibe and good food without the wait, this is a great option. Worth a shot!

Okay, I am a true believer of exploring everything the world has to offer, challenge yourself, break free from old habits and routines, etc etc etc. But I simply can’t get enough of this place! I was shopping in SoHo with a friend and after walking and talking(and not paying attention to directions), we passed by Schiller’s. Both suddenly got hungry and I believe it was fate who lead me here once again. We got seated immediately, they took our drink order moments later, our waitress was incredibly nice. I have always liked the staff at Schiller’s, but this gal was amazing! Unfortunately I didn’t ask for her name, and if she mentioned it, I can’t remember. I went simple with an appetizer. Schiller’s has such a vast menu, and I like that the appetizer, lunch, and dinner menus all include variety enough to cover many different taste buds. I can eat lunch for dinner, or dinner for breakfast!(Maybe not exactly, but y’all get my point). The most ironic part about my love for Schiller’s, is that I’m not necessarily a huge fan of their cocktails. But I’d rather drink their cocktails and be located in the LES in this awesome venue than most other places I have been. The ambiance is so relaxed and great, and the people there creates such a good atmosphere. Maybe one year in Brooklyn has grown on me, but the LES is close to being my favorite Manhattan-neighborhood, mostly due to places like Schiller’s. I also binge-watched Elementary over the summer and immediately recognized Schiller’s when they were filming there. It gave me this immediate urge to return and have, can you believe it, a cocktail! Sadly I won’t be back until January, but this will be my first stop!

Came to Schiller’s for a business lunch — and cringed a little that«Liquor Bar» was attached to the name(how do I explain this to Finance?). The layout was nice, open wall windows, nice knick-knacks throughout. The restrooms are in the basement and are… memorable. The food was ok. There was a bunch of us so we got to try a little bit of everything. Things that stood out was the gazpacho and the shrimp, not because they were spectacular, but because the gazpacho was freezer-cold and the shrimp were the size of my pinky nail. Yikes! The other items(steak frites, salmon, salad) were okay but nothing to rave about. Not terrible but not spectacular — especially with one of the regulars sleeping in a booth behind us. Would I come back? Likely not.

I came here with my friend for happy hour drinks. I LOVED the style and décor of the bar, subway tiles, industrial seating & features, even the bathroom was cool! We had a couple of cocktails each. They are quite pricey when full price at $ 13, as the glasses are quite small, so you get much, but they were presented very well. Our server didn’t actually advise us it was happy hour, nor was it noted on the menu. It was only because I asked if they had a happy hour, did I then find out! I feel like people will probably drink more and spend more money if they are aware it’s happy hour. We didn’t have any food, but from what I saw from a neighboring table, it looked nice. I would definitely come here again if in the area.

Came here at 6pm on a Wednesday evening after work and the restaurant was nearly empty. By about 7:30pm, the restaurant became more crowded and was nearly full, so if you want a table with no hassle make sure to get here before then! My table ordered a few dishes: Schiller’s Nachos — Not a huge order, but the chilli that accompanied the nachos were real good. Mussels — Was pretty flavorful, but nothing to boast about. Fish Tacos — The order came with 3 tacos, with each piece being pretty big. I noticed they used the fried fish from the fish and chips as the fish in the tacos. There were a ton of flavors in the taco. Schiller’s Brisket Patty Melt — My favorite of all the dishes. Loved the honey mustard mixed in with the brisket and melted cheese. It was very flavorful and just melted in my mouth. Fish and Chips — The fried fish was good, but not great. I felt the fish batter was a bit burnt, but the fish inside was fresh. Lastly, I want to comment on a few things. First, the restaurant is a bit loud with the background music, so it’s not a great place for anything intimate. Second, the service and hospitality. The servers were very friendly and when we left someone(possibly the owner) said goodbye to each of us, which is always nice to hear.

I recently went here for Happy Hour and had a great time!!! I even lost my credit card there… but even that sadness couldn’t dampen my spirits about this place. Here are the highlights: 1) Tasty, reasonably-priced Happy Hour drinks 2) Super tasty and well-priced Happy Hour appetizers(try the sliders and $ 1.50 oysters) 3) Handsome and super nice bartender 4) Super friendly manager 5) Amazing interior that looks like an early 20th century diner Seriously, I could go on and on… Awesome everything! Check this place out!
