Renee Smith Hair Design

So I’ve been on Unilocal since 2008 and this is only my second review. I might have to write more just to get this one to show up. I just had a FANTASTIC experience with Renee and I have to share it! I do not really love the typical salon experience (despite being a licensed hairdresser myself) and while looking for a place near my new neighborhood, I happened upon reviews for Renee’s mobile services. What luck!
She arrived on time with all manner of supplies and equipment packed neatly and at the ready. I sat at my dining room table in basically my pajamas. Renee has a comfortable manner and is a truly interesting person to talk with. She works efficiently and intelligently. I’m super happy with this cut and with the ease of it all. Next time — and there absolutely will be a next time — we’ll do some color, too.

Because there’s no salon, the price is reasonable, and Renee is very good at what she does. She has been giving my sons great haircuts for over 3 years, even through the terrible-​twos of flipping out in the middle of a hair cut. We feel so comfortable with Renee in our house, that when she walks in we don’t even bother to apologize for the mess anymore. She has various specials which you can find on her website. I usually get highlights and/​or a cut, and then one of the kid’s cuts is free. My sons’ hair looks great after Renee cuts it and it grows out nicely; the cuts lasts awhile. She’s got a gizmo to put on the kitchen sink to wash out grown-​ups hair, and she brings a broom to sweep up after the whole cutting process.
In our family, we find that the 7 am appointment is best. Renee starts with my hair, and while it sets, she cuts one or both of the kid’s hair while they watch Dora for distraction, and my husband and I feed them and get them dressed. Occasionally we put the boys in the bath right after a cut, because with short hairs, it can get on their neck and bother them. It’s so nice to be able to do this right after because we are in our home, not a salon. Then she washes my hair and does a blow-​out. My husband gets the kids to school, and I get to work — on time — with great hair! I don’t think I’ve been as loyal to a hair stylist as I am to Renee.

Renee has been cutting my son’s hair for about 2 years. He’s 3 ½ now. She gives him a great cut and keeps him happy during it. He doesn’t cry with Renee, like he would when we went to salons. I’m very happy with Renee’s services.

You’ll never have to go to the salon again!
Renee delivers Aveda-​quality hair to your home. She is one of only three people to have ever gotten my bangs right, and she is patient and professional in figuring out just the right shade of highlights I want to go for.
It doesn’t hurt that she also happens to be a really awesome person! I’d highly recommend her to anyone tired of paying salon prices for haircut and highlights!

I love Renee. She comes right to my home, brings all of her own tools and supplies, and cleans up everything when she’s done. She does anything I’d have done in a salon – she’s colored my hair, and given perms, and has no trouble working in my tiny place. I’ve been with Renee for many years now — she’s a fabulous stylist, great to chat with too, just a lovely person. It’s always a treat when she comes over plus I look terrific afterwards. My girls both love her too, and she does a great job with them too. Now that she offers mobile service, I’ve gotten spoiled, I never want to see the inside of a salon again!

Renee is wonderful. She comes to my home and takes care of the whole family for much less than it would cost me to go to a salon. She cuts and colors beautifully, my husband loves what she does for him, and my five year old is free! Couldn’t be happier with her work or the value.

Renee is AWESOME! You ask for it and she knows exactly what you need. Also, it’s really great to have someone coming to YOU!
