Went there on a whim late night, did a research on what time this place closes and their website says 9:30pm so i thought great! Im on like a 5 min cab ride away being its 9pm at the time so i hopped in a cab got there and it was CLOSED! What a bummer! The two workers working was just staring at the door and done nothing instead let the door do the talking a.k.a «we are closed»

It’s just like any other Red Mango. Except it shares a space with Chickpea. There was about 6 flavors and a good mix of toppings from fruit, candy and baked good crumbles. The staff were nice and friendly.

My beau talk’s about this spot to me all the time. He has been wanting me to try it out. Finally after our regular Saturday morning biking or run in Central Park we decided to stop in on this location. I had a Strawberry, blueberry and banana parfait, my boyfriend had the Blueberry, banana parfait. Very delicious and low on calories. If you’re counting. Healthy quick refuel snack. Just what We needed after a hard workout. Thanks babe! Try it out folks.

Tasty, but expensive. Convenient, but expensive. Refreshing, but expensive. Red Mango is a lot of things, and expensive is the adjective I have used the most so far(count:4). Their execution of the tart(but not as tart as Pinkberry) yogurt craze is commendable, but when you are looking for value… I just don’t see it here. When I worked on the UES, it was 44 steps from my office, and conveniently located in the same building as Chickpea, an establishment that embodies many of the same above mentioned characteristics, but… another review, another time. In my handful of visits to Red Mango, I got three varying toppings, each one oh-so eloquently placed upon my bed of yogurt with the smallest teaspoon mankind has ever created. One strawberry(for 75 cents, mind you) does not top my yogurt anywhere close to adequately. In the end, my creations end up costing just over $ 6. Gaftuph. Alternatively, the ever-present Mr. Softee on 99th& Madison provides delicious chocolate refreshment, excelling in the practice of providing more for less.

Worst froyo around. Expansive and not good. Also the employees yell at you.

I’ve been waiting for this place to open for over a year. Finally, it happened. And it’s aiite. I don’t like that each topping costs me an additional 50 or 75 cents. I don’t like that my mango froyo melts into a puddle right in front of my eyes before I can devour it whole. But I’ll come back for more.

tl;dr No, it’s not a legend, this place is FINALLYOPEN! —– I’m super excited since I literally live right on top of this building, and the Red Mango sign has been teasing me since oh, about November last year. A quick Google search tells me that there are no Red Mangos on the East Side north of Midtown, and Pinkberries north of 82nd Street. What’s up with that?! I’m so glad that Red Mango has finally seen the light and is now ready to tap into the lucrative Mount Sinai lunch market(hehe, I kid, I kid). This is one of those joint Red Mango/Chickpea places, with Chickpea in the back, and Red Mango in the front. There’s plenty of seating, with a counter in the middle and seats to the front and rear of the store. Pricing: Small — 3.50, Medium — 4.50, Large — 5.50, Toppings: 75c, then 50c for each additional. The pricing is kind of steep since at Pinkberry you could get unlimited toppings with a small. I got white peach froyo w/stawberry and kiwi for 4.90. The white peach is awesome, by the way. SO it’s quite expensive, but SO excited about having a froyo place SOCLOSE! SO5 stars :)
