The worst place ever. Terrible manager, mean. There is a 20% coupon on Unilocal,he would not honor it. Lost my business. Argued with me.

Officially the worst middle eastern food I have ever had. The hummus and bulgur had no flavor. The spicey chicken was too spicey to finish.

I always think people are too harsh on Unilocal so I decided to try this place anyway. Well let me tell you that the reviews are not dramatized. First of all they didn’t have lamb and turkey. I ended up with chicken which is exactly what I didn’t want but I was starving by the time they called to tell me. The only menu item that people universally liked, which was the hummus, didn’t make its way into my delivery bag. And that sucks because I was really looking forward to the hummus. I ordered on the side three falafel which by the way are prepackaged, cold and so dry you could choke it. $ 12 wasted. Just go to halal guys or something. This was awful.

Best lunch in the area for sure! My go-tos are the salads and the quinoa bar. The food is fresh, always consistent, yummy, and good value for money. They have some really delicious toppings(I usually get a salad with roasted red pepper hummus, chicken shawarma, red cabbage, carrots, chickpeas, and israeli mixed salad, with a cilantro dressing and tahini sauce — PERFECTION!). The employees are always really nice and helpful as well! –1 star because they don’t have enough stations at the quinoa bar and the line can get pretty long, especially during the lunch rush hour. Note: they give 10% to Mount Sinai employees with their IDs, so make sure to bring yours with you!

I go to this spot about twice a week for breakfast, they are quick and efficient. Overall, just fantastic food and it is all at a good price. A quick grab and go spot, you can’t go wrong. There egg platters are for $ 3 – 4 bucks which includes home fries and toast which is a solid price if you don’t want put a huge dent in your wallet like most of these other NYC joints around do to customers. It’s also empty when I go, but it’s probably because it’s really early in the morning and beating out rush hour.

Gave them another chance and they quickly delivered a very tasty Chicken Kabob wrap. Portion was good and the fries were much better this time. I’ll definitely keep them in mind from now on when craving Middle Eastern food. Their manager Sheldon does a great job of making customers happy and is the reason I’ll keep Chickpea in my restaurant rotation. Keep up the good work!

Clean, fresh, tasty and healthy with a friendly and efficient service staff. Construct your own wrap or middle eastern or american style sandwich from scratch. Vast choices of hummus, chicken shwarmas and other proteins with a veritable bounty of veggies and dressings. Amazing. What Subway Sandwich Shops wishes it could be. A stone’s throw from Mt Sinai Hospital. «Bypass» the hospital cafeteria and eat here. Red Mango yogurt too! For a mostly takeout sandwich shop, it is absolutely five stars.

Tasty wraps and salads! I usually come during lunch rush from Mount Sinai across the street and get the falafel salad. Very fresh. Service isn’t the best/friendliest, but it solves the lunch craving.

With working at Mt. Sinai, this Chickpea has become a favorite of mine. I must say that the yogurt parfait is a good deal for the money, especially compared to other options in NYC generally and especially this area. Lots of fresh fruit, lots of granola, and great original tart frozen yogurt with the perfect ratios. I’ve also ordered salads a few times from Chickpea. The chicken kebab can be hit or miss, but the options for the salads/wraps are fresh and plentiful. It’s a bit expensive for a salad, but the portion sizes are ample. Overall, I really enjoy the salads and the warm pita that comes with it. The place itself is clean and the employees are always friendly. Overall, no complaints other than being a bit overpriced, but that’s rather typical for this area.

Not a bad quick lunch option for the area. I used to get the salads on a regular basis and then I got tired of them because I ate them so much. The chicken shwarma pita is always a good option. I like that you can get it on a whole wheat pita. I think everything is slightly overpriced for what it us, but not so much that it makes me stop going there. If you are willing to get one of the lunch specials, I think that is a pretty decent deal.

Step 1) Grab a salad from the refrigerated storage Step 2) Ask for jalapeño and scallion hummus Step 3) Get chicken kebab or the lamb Step 4) Pick your 4 veggies Step 5) Get hot sauce Step 6) Pay Step 7) Eat some delicious food If your jam is fast and delicious food, then this is your place. However, they don’t have the greatest service though, and it’s not exactly fast food cheap, but it works.

Chickpea is a cheap unauthentic falafel place. You can build your own falafel bowl, pita pocket, plate. Its clean and the food is decent. I ordered a pocket. with a pocket you get falafel and 4 veg a choice of hummus. I chose the quinoa and veg falafel they are baked not fried, chickpeas, peppers, couscous, cucumber, tahini sauce. For a couple dollars more you can add eggplant, hard boiled egg, avocado etc. I feel that the veg is fresh but the falafel lacks in flavor and moisture because it is baked and not fried. They have many flavors so maybe ill try a different one next time. They also have different flavor hummus to choose from. Overall this place is okay for quick lunch just make sure to get extra sauce

Chickpea whelms me in the most medium of ways. While my co-workers(one in particular) pretty much have a second home at that counter, I find it to be a decent option in an area of Manhattan(we’re talking within a purely lazy 1 block radius of Mount Sinai) decidedly void of the number of options I am used to, both in other parts of the city and in ye ol’ Hoboken. The food is generally good, but my qualms are with price and quantity. I’ve never walked out of there for under $ 8-$ 9, and if I want a drink or chips to go with my wrap, I’m into double digits. Important things: Hummus — good, but they don’t give you nearly enough. Excuse me sir, when you are done swirling a teaspoon of hummus onto my wrap, please add three more. Meat — Not bad nor overwhelmingly good. Toppings — A decent amount to choose from, but they never give you enough. Suitable adjectives include, but are not limited to: a smidge, dollop, fragment, fraction, touch, iota, trace, minim, or a parcel of toppings. It’s a chain, and it’s local. Good for lunch on the run in between meetings or lunch in inclement weather due to sheer Sinai proximity. Fun fact: There is a red mango in the same building, so you don’t have to go far at all(3 steps?) to nurse your post-chickpea sweet tooth.
