A burger with«ramen» buns? Hold the R for a second, and can I get an amen?!? The ramen burger here is better than the ramen burger in LA, this ramen burger is everything I dreamed my first ramen burger would be like. While not a super crazy burger, it definitely lives up to its reputation of the ramen burger and surpasses it’s west coast counterpart. Unlike the west coast’s, this burger did not use superfluous ingredients like egg, teriyaki sauce, etc. This was just a quality seasoned burger with a little bit of a Japanese kick to it. The actual ramen buns are surprisingly well held together as they did not discombobulate once, and they also provide a unique texture not found on regular buns. It has the consistency and warmth of a pasta, and chewing it is kind of reminiscent of biting into really doughy bread. Combine that with the flavoring a ramen, and this provides an extra– I don’t know the the Japanese phrase for«je né sais quoi.» Either way, the ramen buns here are done right, and I was quite pleased with it. The only real downside is that there’s always a huge line of people waiting to get their hands on one of these bad boys, so the wait can be real. Otherwise, it’s definitely worth at least experiencing.

With the hype around it I was expecting to be disappointed. I was. I don’t like my burger tasting like soy sauce. I was hoping to be proved wrong but i was not impressed. I like ramen but not in a burger. Just saying. I elected the slaw instead of chips. I thought the taste was okay except that the serving size was really stingy. I shoulda gone with the chips that looked like they were made on site. My wife had the bowl of ramen which got a thumbs up.

Describe this burger in one word: Orgasm Who would have thought that replacing hamburger buns with deep fried ramen who have been a great idea and would ever taste soo freakin great! This vendor is hidden in Industry City which I had no idea where it was until someone brought me here to it. Fair warning, this will get really messy so have a bunch of napkins on hand. Also, it is cash only. They are $ 10 dollars a piece if you get the Classic Ramen Burger. Totally worth it to try at least once just to experience it, and maybe you can make it at home one day with those 50 cent ramen.

This was surprisingly good and lived up to its hype! Although a little expensive, as all food trucks generally are, it was worth it. We luckily got in line before the rush and were In and out in five minutes. The ramen is soft and the meat is good. It was messy to eat at smörgåsbord but I’m glad I tried it!

Went to South Street Seaport and came across a food truck type shanty town of exotic bites. My favorite was the ramen burger. It was delicious! The buns, made of ramen, were crispy on the outside with good flavor seasoning. Between the buns was some kimchi, teriyaki sauce, greens, and a burger cooked to order. It was the second time j had ever tried a ramen burger and it heightened my expectations.

On a beautiful Saturday in New York City(back in August), we headed down to South Street Seaport to catch some sun and good food =P Despite the heat and scorching sun, this place is packed! There were a lot of unique food booths down this little street like lobsters, pizza, oysters, grilled cheese etc. We decided to give Ramen Burger a try since it’s such an innovative way to eat ramen and burger. The Original Ramen Burger by Keizo Shimamoto was voted #17 most influential burger of all time by Times magazine. Like any typical food vendors/restaurants in New York, there was a line up at the Ramen Burger booth. It took around 15 minutes from line up to ordering to actually getting our burger as they made the burgers fresh. There were basically 2 options on the menu– vegetarian or beef. We ordered a original burger made with Angus beef. The burger came with a small coleslaw and the portion of the meal was surprisingly small. It was however wrapped and presented nicely distinguishing it from your typical burgers. So is it a ramen or is it a burger? To me it more closely resembles a stir-fried beef noodle that you could order from a Chinese restaurant and tasted nothing like your typical ramen or burger. Aside from being served with a fork and a knife, I believe the culprit is in the condiments. There were parsley, green onion and the sauce tasted like a cross between teriyaki and soy sauce which are typical ingredients used in Chinese and Japanese food. Without the sauce, the ramen ‘bun’ was tasteless, however the texture was just right– not too stiff, not too soggy. The patty was nothing special and tasted like your average burger. It was nonetheless a unique experience as I still don’t know how to categorize this hybrid meal. I wouldn’t say I loved it but it is definitely worth a try for the novelty and creativity.

I’ve taken a special trip to the Seaport twice, just to go Ramen Burger. I’m so upset that the Smörgåsbord there is closing for the season. The original ramen burger is one of the best burgers that I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait for Smörgåsbord to open again, next year.

Unlike anything I’ve ever had before. I was expected to be disappointed because there was a lot of hype behind the Ramen burger but I was mind blown. The burger is made out of cooked Ramen noodles and the burger is topped with an Asian sweet barbecue tasting sauce. I’ve gone to Smorgasburg in Brooklyn and the line is always a mile long. At Smorgasboard at South Street Seaport, the line was short and there was seating along Stone Street to sit and enjoy the finger-licking good Ramen Burger

Came here on a Friday after work, and it wasn’t crowded. Ordered the OG ramen burger with no cheese. Lady who took the order looked like she rather not be there(I get it, but put a mask on or something). The ramen bun was al dente enough but had no distinct flavor. I enjoyed it for the simple fact I am a carb freak. The burger patty was greasy. I wish I could comment on the flavor but the sauce was the star. I personally don’t think the sauce should be the ‘star’ on a burger. When the hubs bit into it, I saw a lot of grease seep out everywhere. Whoa. Glad we shared — it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly amazing either. Maybe I’ll try it without the sauce to see what’s with the beef patty.

I don’t understand what the poor reviews are for. I had a ramen burger today and yes, it was greasy and yes it was salty, but the Asian influenced flavor exploded in my mouth. You are crazy if: 1) you don’t like this 2) you proceed to talk trash. Go eat another plain jane kale salad and enjoy the bland, misery that is your life.

This is quite possibly, one of the best hybrid burgers I have ever tasted. For vegetarians, it may look too simple to taste good — Ramen patties smothered with mushrooms and melted cheese. That’s it. Well it was quite unexpected because the burger was every bit delicious the price you pay for. In fact, after finishing the burger, I was left contemplating on getting another one. It isn’t that filling but surely, a treat to eat.

So I liked it. But part of that probably has to do with the fact that the line was literally 2 mins long so I just walked right though. If I got it again, I would … * get NO cheese(the flavor dominated the noodles/meat/sauce * get extra sauce since it’s the only non-cheese part that actually imparts flavor * add hot sauce or something since it was pretty bland overall I liked the texture and found it easy to eat, albeit a bit greasy. I liked that it was a reasonable size(maybe ¼ lb) so that I wasn’t stuffed after. That’s what I want at Smorgasburg so I can try lots of different things!

Hubby really wanted to try their OG ramen burger, $ 10. He loves ramen but I knew it wouldn’t be good. So, while at Seaport, he went up to the booth to get one. It is basically a patty size 2 piece ramen, panfried some and a sweetly glazed burger patty placed in between. He has a less refined palate than I do but told me it was no good(I had one bite). The ramen was bland and I didn’t like the sauce(similiar in taste to teriyaki sauce) on the burger. Let that be a lesson to him.

Some friends and I came down here for lunch one day and WOW did we enjoy ourselves. Décor: There isn’t much to the place, it’s just a little booth at Shmorgasburg(South Street Seaport). There is a line of picnic tables but they fill up fast(so try to get there early if you want a seat). But they seem to turn over quickly and people are open to sharing. Oh, and here’s a tip: order on the LEFT! Bathroom: nope Staff: They were fine. Neither delightful nor rude. Food: Wow. Have I said that yet? The Ramen Burger lives up to the hype! It’s SOGOOD! I would attribute much of that to just how different of an item it is but it really is worth the trek down to the South Street Seaport(as opposed to Brooklyn…). We had varying combinations(2 burgers, a double, w/and w/o cheese, etc.). The clear winner is the standard single burger with cheese — perhaps asking for extra teriyaki sauce wouldn’t hurt either. Do yourself a favor and go get one! Value: Not expensive by any means. And if you factor in the taste you have a great bang-for-your-buck place! I absolutely cannot wait to come back. Like I said, it’s a trek to get to(esp when you’re coming from midtown…) but worth the trip.

I’m more than disappointed! Should’ve known better when I saw«no amex» on the sign — what kind of place doesn’t take amex?! The ramen paddies were soaked in oil, it was disgusting! The paddy was dry, over cooked! I ordered it with bacon and even the bacon was soggy, or maybe it’s bc it was in between those oil soaked buns… would no try again. But it did look delicious! Perfect example of looks are indeed deceiving!

I was never super excited about this when it first came out last year given that it just looked like a heart attack in the making. However, I decided to come here after work since I was starving and was hoping to be adventurous. there were no lines and so I was like its a sign, I should go ahead and try it. Service was friendly and they recommended that I try t without cheese since it was my first burger. I got the OG burger that consisted of just sauce and some greens and the Yuko slaw on the side The ramen«bun» was al dente but a bit too soft and it had no flavor… And granted that the burger was juicy and flavorful that soy sauce esque within the burger just ruined every bite. It was tangy but sweet and just a bit too strange to my palate. And there were only like three strands of greens so I don’t even know what they were… And the Yuko slaw has no flavor and it was just… Blah. This isn’t worth the calories and everything was a bit bland and didn’t reach my expectations.‘it’s a great«must try» but def share it with someone and I’m glad I didn’t have to wait in line for it.

If you don’t want to line up forever for the ramen burger in Brooklyn, come here early during lunch. I got here at 11:50 am and there was no line at all! But I still had to wait for about 10 min for my food to be prepared. Price: it’s expensive. $ 10 for a burger and a tiny coleslaw? It’s not even big, I was still hungry so I went to Haagan Daz after that. If you want cheese(which I did), you have to pay $ 1 more. For $ 10, the only other thing you get in your burger for free is a piece of lettuce. Taste? It’s unique. It’s kinda cool how they fry the ramen together to form a bun. I have no idea how it sticks together so well! The meat was not flavorful at all. I was expecting a juicy burger like the ones from Shake Shack or In N Out but the burger was bland. My other friends who were eating to too felt the same way. It was a little greasy as well. I don’t know if I will go back to be honest. It wasn’t that great and it’s expensive. I wasn’t impressed. I’m glad I didn’t line up forever to try it.

On my trip to NYC, one of my goals was to try this unique take on a burger. I sure am glad I did. $ 10 for the Ramen Burger, they ran out of bacon, and $ 1 for the cheese which they really should just offer for free(so it doesn’t look like you’re just milking people for $$$). I don’t understand exactly HOW it’s possible to keep the cooked noodles into a bun shape while being soft but they managed to do it well. Each bite was like biting into noodles you’d expect at a ramen soup restaurant but the noodles never fall apart from the burger. The burger itself was very juicy and topped with cheese and arugula as well as a soy-sauce based sauce over the burger. I really enjoyed the flavors of this burger. The coleslaw on the other hand was nothing special. It was not creamy at all and quite bland. Hopefully they can read this and change up their recipe because that’s the only reason I can’t give them a 5-star at this time. Definitely something different to try and entirely worth it! MmmmMMmm

I’m really glad I tried the Ramen Burger. It was an experience, but not sure that I will come back again and again. It’s a really unique concoction of a burger patty, ramen noodle buns, cheese, arugula, scallions, and some special sauce, probably hoisin based. It was tasty all together but I wish the burger had more flavor. It also comes with an Asian coleslaw that was just blah. The stand at the seaport wasn’t too crowded so I only ended up waiting a few minutes to order and about 10 for the burger to cook. If the ramen burger appeals to do you, I would def try it, maybe you will love it more than I did.

So I went to check out Smorgasboard in South St Seaport which opened last weekend and I went to a few of the vendors. I was pretty excited to see Ramen Burger there. So I ordered the Original Ramen Burger«OG» with Cheese. I am not going to lie, there was a lot of hype around this ramen burger so I had pretty high expectations. I saw them make my burger and they grill the ramen patties on each side so they don’t fall apart since they are used as buns. The burger was fully wrapped guessing it was super greasy and pretty much has to be eaten while holding it in the wrapper. So as grease dripped down my hand as I took my first bite I was like Oh this is reaaalllyy good. The ramen was soft, the burger soft, and the cheese perfectly melted. Unfortunately every bite after the first two was over-saturated with the sauce they put on it. It was very overpowering and I guess it made my first ramen burger experience not perfect. also the cole slaw was meh I understand this is a new location so maybe I just got unlucky with the oversauce. i have faith this place will only get better!
