I can’t believe it took me this long to find this place! Even 2 years at NYU did not lead me here. Let just say I love it along with my family. It’s the only ravioli my son will eat. We love the Spinach & Cheese Medium Ravioli, turkey meatballs, and Tomato & Basil sauce. We have to try more stuff and come back with a better list. And we still have to try to the made to cut pasta, they have been so busy when we were in there we just hit up the refrigerators.

I go out of my way to go here. After having fresh pasta from Raffetto’s(and at affordable prices!) I don’t see a reason to ever eat the dry grocery store stuff ever again. You can choose your desired type of dough as well as cut– fresh is the way to go, but the frozen ravs are delicious too. Watch out– they’re closed on Mondays, which I don’t believe Unilocal reflects.

Saying there pasta is over rated is by far an understatement. It’s extremely doughy and very bland. Don’t believe the hype the pasta out right sucks.

I love their fresh pasta! They can even cut it to your preferred width! Warning: pasta must be cooked within 2 – 3 days otherwise it will go bad. There are no preservatives. It is fresh! I got the red pepper, mozzarella, and basil ravioli’s, rosemary pappardelle pasta, puttenesca sauce, and turkey bolognese sauce. Everything tasted amazing and delicious! The ladies at the front desk were also very, very friendly and helpful! They also carry cheeses, olive oil and other flavors of pasta. Well worth the extra money for this fresh and delicious pasta!

I recently visited Raffetto’s for the first time with my husband. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing and rushed to choose what we wanted, but the staff was so friendly and helpful that it wasn’t a problem whatsoever. We instantly decided that we wanted some frozen ravioli from the freezer. We chose lobster ravioli and goat cheese ravioli. Next time, I plan to pick up pumpkin as well as cheese with spinach. Then, my husband ordered black squid ink pasta. We didn’t know what cut to choose and a really nice woman behind the counter overheard us and told us that that type of pasta would be best as a tagliatelle or a fettuccine. Any thicker, and it would be difficult to handle. Then she asked if it was just for the two of us, which it was. She suggested about ¾ of a lb. for the both of us. Done! Tagliatelle black squid ink pasta it is! As she put in our fresh pasta order, my husband perused the open fridge and looked at the pasta sauces and chose one for our lobster ravioli. He picked up a pink pasta sauce and threw in a small package of meat tortellini for good measure. I had an expired Groupon, which they accepted without any problems. In fact, hardly any explanation was needed. The place is small but very home-y and easy to navigate. There’s a lot of food products up along the walls, shelves, and in the fridges, which can seem overwhelming but they’re super organized and the staff knows where everything is. When explaining the cuts of pasta, they had a card behind the counter with a picture that easily explained what they could offer us. We were never made to feel dumb for not knowing that fettuccine is narrower than tagliatelle, and I really appreciated that. They made our shopping experience really easy and relaxed and were very friendly to us despite it being just a few minutes from closing. Most other people at other places would be pushing us out the door at that time. But since they’re so efficient and good at their jobs, we were out with probably 5 minutes to spare skipping along with our bags of Italian treats!

I can only say there is nothing but love for this place!!! It is so inexpensive and the quality is unbelievable! My favorites: lobster ravioli and pumpkin ravioli… so freaking good marinara, white clam, vodka cream sauce, pesto, sage butter… all will make you cry sausage i get both the spicy and sweet pastas-cavatelli, egg fettucine, spinach linguine cheeses-pecorino romano, ricotta salata, gorgonzola They open Tuesday-Saturday until 6:30, Thursdays they open until 7:30 Some of Rafetto’s products are sold in Westside markets, but there’s nothing like the experience of the store cash…cash…cash…no cc accepted!!! You may want to call ahead if you’re making a special trip, they close for a week at certain times of the year(summer, xmas)

A real New York establishment with none of the stereotypical New York«we’ve been around since before your parents were born» attitude. Customer service is attentive, and you can ask questions without feeling like a fool. I ordered up the fettuccine cut wide and damn was it delicious. That texture is to die for. I am looking forward to going back and trying something new. This tiny, warm place will definitely be around for the next 100 years. Salute to that!

The Quick: Tiny little Italian deli/grocer with that authentic«off the boat» taste at an incredible reasonable price(cash only). The Details: Think of the kind of deli shop your Nonna would run if she sold her handmade pasta and pesto made with love. Okay, maybe that’s just me, but think little gnocchi and ravioli hand crafted to perfection with amazing fresh ingredients. They sell amazing meats, cheese, pastas, sauce, bread… Basically every type of Italian goodie you could want at an incredibly reasonable price(half the price of Murray’s or Fiacco’s). Really great spot. Please note it’s cash only, they are closed Sunday’s(like any authentic Italian family owned shop) and close early during the week. The Damage: The amount of food you can get for $ 10 is incredible.
