I love their freshly-made soups. They’re not too salty like Metro café’s soups. The Moroccan Lentil soup is delicious and very filling. I do miss the hearty wheat bread that used to come with the soup. Its now a boring white roll that doesn’t hold up to the soup. The people behind the counter make you smile.

This one was nice, but they were playing hip hop. I’m used to Pret playing some indie er something

GRAB-AND-GODELI (3.75 stars) There are more Pret A Manger in mid-town then McDonald’s. Fresh deli sandwiches, panini’s, pastries, chips, snacks, and are all to be «healthy». I love the convenience of the place, whenever I’m hungry just walk around the and walk right into one of these for a quick snack to grab-and-go. Perfect for those crazy busy new yorkers. Things I had — popcorn — cookies — mini panini’s Will I be back? It was the thing to do when getting out from the subway or penn station. Until the next review…

Can you say«the best croissant» in Manhattan? I’m glad to see them growing and taking over the breakfast world for busy Manhattanites. Starbucks food sucks and Pret’s food is amazing. Period. End of story.

I first came across Pret in the UK in 2000 or thereabouts, but I didn’t know they had come to the States until last week – sometimes I’m a little slow. Still the same great sandwiches, salads, soups, and drinks. Prices are OK for the big city, and the line moves quickly. They could use some more seating, but I guess most folks do carryout anyway. I really appreciate their general attitude toward corporate responsibility, but oddly, they don’t recycle soda cans(?). That seems like a no-brainer. The staff is friendly and professional, which is always nice.

Never understood everyone’s obsession with Pret. It’s overpriced, the food is just okay, and it’s always crowded. I find their sandwiches adequate, and actually tried their banh mi for the first time today, figuring I had to at least see what they thought Viet sandwiches should taste like. For the most part, it wasn’t too bad. It had chicken, which was dry, and had red peppers in it for some reason, and no pickled anything. So I guess, if they didn’t try to pass it off as banh mi, it’d be alright. It also cost $ 7.50. Never again.

To be honest, I never really did get the whole«Pret» craze. But then again, I never went there before this year. Then the day came. My Director recommended Pret for lunch. «Sure,» I thought. I wasn’t exactly about to tell him«No.» Right? When we got there I grabbed the roast beef sandwich which seemed to be a safe bet. Now, the really cool thing about this place is that they sell HALF-sandwiches in addition to its regular size. Umm… win! When I bit into my sandwich(or should I say sammie), I was blown away. The bread was so soft, but crispy delicious on the outside and they had some kinda mayo or horseraddish that complemented the bread, arugula and roast beef with such perfection. Again, I went here today to get that same sandwich and I gotta say service was impeccable. A manager(on both visits) was out on the floor making sure everyone was being helped. The register moves with crazy speed and the register people are so freakin nice. Where do you find these people? Must be due to great management and an eye for talent. Well done Pret. I seriously might be back just to get a smile which I rarely ever get anywhere else in this city. Oh and you must… must try the chocolate chip cookies! De-freakin-lish. Seriously might be some of the best in NYC.

Fresh sandwiches, cookies & snack items galore — and the best part is, they don’t waste their food either. At the end of each day, they give their food to the homeless at the conclusion of each night(guarantees that you are eating only the freshest ingredients & they’re doing the community good). Yes, their prices are probably a little bit higher than average, but gripe not because a trip to any Pret is well worth it and almost-always delicious! Their chocolate-chip cookies are big, served warm & oh-so-good!

Sandwiches here aren’t bad, but i think the salad are better. I am not a fan of there hot sandwiches but the southern one is not too bad. This place is def better then eating at subways but still not my ideal meal in the city.

Besides the fact that they have great salads and a good variety of dressings, I always get the Tuna Melt Toastie; it’s warm, the bread is crunchy and I love the capers! I’ve tried the other ones too but gotta say this is my favorite Toastie. Well it’s actually a little bit on the salty side for my taste, I guess just drink plenty of water :) The last time I was there I also ordered a small Chai Tea, half of the cup was foam… I’ll just leave it to Starbucks down the street to make my drinks.

I have never actually been inside this Pret, but they were handing out free oatmeal at the street intersection on my way to work! It was a really cold, gloomy and rainy day — perfect for oatmeal! This is not your Quaker instant oatmeal, it’s thick and hardy and not gloopy or sticky. I think there is some barley in it as well because there was a certain almost chewiness to it, which I love. It had a couple of raisins and brown sugar — a bonus because I was expecting plain oatmeal. I might be tempted to visit the actual place now just for some of this oatmeal!

The food here is fresh, but honestly, if it wasnt so dam close to my office, I probably would be ok w/never eating it. Everything is made on the day of and sold on the same day. The sandwiches are decent, but for the price, it’s kinda expensive. I usually get the Pret Famous Ham & Cheese, this is pretty good, but it’s probably because of the mustard they use in the sammich.(I love mustard!!) I’ve had the same sammich but in the«toasty» bread instead, and it’s just as good, and yes the mustard is in the sammich =] Their vietnamese baguette version, is not that good. Flavors are not there, probably because they dont use any pâté or french mayo. They do have a great wrap, the spicy shrimp cilantro wrap. This is a lighter alternative, but the flavors are anything but light! They use cilantro, cucumbers and some kind of chipotle sauce. The sauce is key, gives it a lil kick. I usually get this on the regular. Happy Lunching.

I work down the street and come here at least 2x/week. I love their salads and dressing. sandwiches are fresh and the workers are always pleasant. my faves sandwiches are: meatball, Vietnamese banh mi, spicy shrimp and falafel(cold and warm). also, i really like their bread. they’re a little more pricier than the regular deli’s but I am never dissatisfied. I think I’ll be going there today :-)

This particular Pret is the best you can get. (You like that rhyme? You do, I know.) The people who work here are undoubtedly the NICEST people working in the food service industry. Not the so nice they make you sick but teetering on that line. The food is good, fresh and I am a huge fan of their fruit salad. Mango, pomegranate, kiwi & blueberries… no nasty melon… BIGFAN. The soy milk they use is a bit gritty but that’s ok, this is a package deal for me. Food, coffee, fast service, friendliness and chopsticks. Seriously, what’s the deal with the chopsticks?

I love Pret A Manger and have been eating from them for years… as I hop from job to job all over the city… and I always prayed that my next assignment had a Pret nearby. :)… As in most chain places… the food is standard at every location… and I have found Pret’s staff to always be super friendly and helpful… no matter which one I’m visiting… sure tell signs that they are paid very well. or just drinking too much happy juice when we’re not looking. lol… I love their sandwiches… love that you can buy ½…if you’re not that hungry… Was addicted to their Crayfish/Rocket sandwich. which only comes out in the summer(rocket is the British word for Arugula). its divine… salads are delicious… I love their yoghurt pots with honey/granola…and their organic cold tea’s…their banana cake is so moist and yummy… and I always buy 5 of their oat/fruit bars at the cashier… I eat them for breakfast with tea. I’ve always been treated very well at Pret’s…and in the past even received a handwritten letter from their customer service with a $ 25 gift card due to my positive praises… Stop eating all the junk food and eat some good wholesome Pret food!!! Your body will thank you later…

I love Pret but OMG the suggestibility on the part of the staff is killing my wallet! I usually frequent the location near Bryant Part, but since the weather has been horrible — i.e. like being wrapped in aluminum foil, while wearing wool socks at high noon in Death Valley — I have forgone my lovely park visits. So one hot day I sprinted a few blocks from work to this location, and was happy to see my favorite sandwiches ready for purchase. However, upon paying the cashiers always cheerily say«See you tomorrow!» On Fridays they are even more aptly prepared and say«See you on Monday!» and right before holidays(like July 4th) they say«See you on Tuesday!» Okay either they are crazy, or am I a schmuck because I keep coming back… like a zombie!

Pret is starting to become the Starbucks of sandwiches, but hey I don’t mind because their sandwiches are quick and delicious and you can also see the calorie count. For some reason the baguette bread at this location is TASTIER and yummier than at the location 2 blocks north. Not sure why this is but it makes their baguette sandwiches SOMUCHYUMMIER! And if they make the goat cheese/arugula baguette sandwich a staple at this location I will bump it up to 5 stars, and I’m sure other people will agree that the goat cheese/arugula baguettes need to stay! Yum.

Glad to add another place to my growing list of «lunch spots». Had only been here once before years ago so it was a pretty new experience for me. I like how they have all of the sandwiches neatly organized on the shelves, complete with ingredients and nutrition info so you can make an informed decision. They also have whole and half sandwiches in case you’re not feeling particularly hungry. An employee came by while we were perusing the shelves and offered his help in case we needed it. Next thing I know, my coworker calls my name and tells me to try a free sample — I chose the brownie, which was delicious. I also noticed that she already had her sandwich in a bag ready to leave so I hurriedly made a choice(it was a Bell & Evans Chicken Coronation) and was out the door within a minute. I liked how it was a very«in and out» experience — perfect for the lunchtime rush. The actual sandwich was delicious. The name or ingredients were not written on the box so of course I can’t recall what it was and it’s not on the online menu either. It included chicken salad, mango chutney, curried something, some sort of nut and some veggies. Delicious. I devoured it. Perfect amount of food for me. Though pricier than Subway, definitely better quality and more interesting varieties to choose from. 4 stars for Pret!

Glad this one is close to my workplace. People raved about this place and sooooo I’m checking it out! 1st time coming to this place which is a hybrid of an Italian coffee bar and modern small restaurant /takeout place. I’m not a big fan of cold sandwiches but they do offer unique varieties and are displayed neatly in these cute boxed packages. They also offer salads but I went for the jalapeño chicken wrap… warm and just right. Oh… I devoured this tasty wrap within 5 minutes as if I inhaled it. I’ll be coming back and checking out the other warm wraps of which they rotate flavors twice a week. Bonus today that they were offering free samples of the raspberry bar/fruit and oats bar /and brownies. The brownies are exceptional… melts in your mouth but the price of that bar bit pricey… would only go for it when I’m craving for it! Close to being a sucker of buying that brownie but held up knowing I have a big dinner ahead.
