Pret A Manger

I use to come to Pret all the time years ago, and for some reason I stopped going, I can’t remember why. I just stopped in to grab a sandwich quickly before a meeting I had and as soon as I had my first bite, I quickly remembered why I use to stop in. I had the arugula, mozzarella and tomato sandwich (it was a little heavy on the arugula, but still yummy) that was topped with a yogurt like dressing, similar to mayo, but not quite that consistency and had another cheese (shaved Parmesan maybe?). They have small and large sandwiches, usually on a baguette type bread. Sandwich was really tasty and surprisingly well seasoned. My favorite part about Pret is that everything is fresh, always. You can definitely tell and it makes me more inclined to spend my money there. My sandwich and drink was also under $ 10 which is a score in my book considering I work in Manhattan. I’ll definitely be going back!

Great Pret around the area, particularly for breakfast. First, I have to say that I was surprised when I first walked in because this location is not like others around the city. This location is spacious and it was surprisingly not crowded during the morning rush hour. The place is really clean and the staff is sympathetic and cordial, which is greatly appreciated particularly during the morning.
I walked in and grabbed my all time favorite Brioche Sausage and Egg breakfast sandwich. I also got a large coffee (less than $ 3 and the taste is great!) The line was not long. The entire process probably took less than 5 minutes. It was quick and easy! After I paid I was able to sit down and enjoy my breakfast without rushing.
The sitting space is vast and as I said before the tables are clean. They restocked on their breakfast while I was there, which was also a good thing to see. If you are around FiDi looking for a breakfast place do not underestimate this Pret!

Comida saludable, natural para llevar o comer ahí. Alimentos frescos, ensaladas, wraps, sándwiches o sopas. Limonada y bebidas orgánicas. Los productos muy buenos, ricos.
La decoración es muy linda, siempre impecable. En todos los locales q fui siempre limpio.
La atención excelente. Una vez no me gusto lo q pedí y me dijeron que elija cualquier otro.

I come almost every day for lunch and have always had great food and service but in the last 2 weeks I’ve repeatedly found hair in my food.

Not a huge fan of these types of chains, but this particular Pret is very good. I don’t think I’ve met any nicer baristas/​cashiers/​employees than the ones here. Everyone is so pleasant and accommodating and they care about quality. Until today, I had only ordered hot drinks for my morning commute, but today I needed a «snack» so I picked up a balsamic sandwich on wheat bread at 4pm. It was fresh and delicious. Now that I’ve experienced the whole package, I had to write this review. Thanks Pret!

Absolutely love their coffee. I always get a large for about $ 2.89 and some times it’s even free depending if the employees feel like it. The staff here is very friendly and when it comes to them saying don’t worry the coffees on the house, it really does make my day. When they have the seasonal lobster salad, it’s only $ 9.99. It’s so worth it! They also have really good salad dressing like the chimichurri one. It’s so good and you’d wouldn’t find it anywhere else. The sandwiches are good but I think it’s more on the pricier side.

My favorite place for lunch. Healthy, fresh, and diverse options for lunch from their vegetarian wraps to their morrocan lentil soup. Today I tried their Asian veggie wrap, which comes wrapped in seaweed paper and filled with avocado, quinoa, peppers, tomatoes and delicious veggies. It was amazing! Their values as a company is also something I respect and wish other restaurants would follow too, especially in regards to feeding the hungry.

I’m only here for the latte! These guys make the best latte this side of Wall Street. $ 3.45 get you a large latte (organic milk, organic coffee) that tastes the same as Starbucks’ $ 5 latte! Cannot go wrong with that!

I’m in the midst of a hell work week and a move and my husband and cat are thousands of miles away. I can’t cook! How do I survive??? Well, on restaurants.
So realizing I hadn’t eaten in about 18 hours, I ran in and got some grub. The jokes and sweetness and customer service went so far above and beyond I wanted to throw lavish gifts on everyone in the room. And then when I tried to give my cashier all my cash as a tip, she said to put it in the charity box because it was no big deal. My cashier and her colleagues have no idea how much their good humor and fun really turned me around.
Thank you, ladies. You’re going to be one of my parting NY memories. :)

As expected. Good quick sandwiches for a quick lunch

This is a great spot to go during my half hour lunch. Very affordable. The food is fresh and organic. Mostly salads, wraps, sandwiches etc.

While working in the Financial District, I came here many times for lunch. Yes, they are busy, but they always have fresh sandwiches and soups available. Also, the food is very good quality (which is good because they are slightly more expensive than most places). This is a chain and sometimes the staff isn’t always the most chipper, but overall, this is still one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch if you work nearby.

Went for lunch today and got the New York meatball wrap. It was really enjoyable. If you are looking for a place that is reasonably priced and quick in the financial district, this is it. The place is no frills and will get you in and out quickly.

Talk about feeling great about the food you’re eating! I got a ham and egg on rye and chicken noodle soup. All fresh, organic ingredients, and so filling! The place had this kind of hipster, fun feel to it. It was a great grab-​and-​go, and of course, centrally located!

This one is probably my favorite Pret A Manger location in NYC. I’ve been coming here for years, and just went there for lunch with my husband again today.
My all-​time favorite is Chicken & Bacon sandwich, and I’ve also fallen in love with its interpretation of Banh Mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) these days. Its sandwiches are made of quality ingredients, and taste very fresh and «clean,» with no odd aftertaste in the mouth. It doesn’t get your hands messy either. My husband also likes their wraps, salad, and juices.
The lay-​out of this store is streamlined, and it is bright and spacious. There are plenty of tables and seats, and even a few bar seats by the window. It does get very busy during the lunch hours, but the line moves fairly quickly. Sometimes I also like to go to Cosi across the street, but when I am pressed for time, I always come here instead.
Another bonus: the restroom is also easy to find.

More like 3.5 stars.
This is a cool and hip little sandwich shop that we discovered on our way to Ground Zero. Yummy fresh and organic fare if that’s what you are looking for. I love the fact that they donate their unsold food to charity at the close of the day.
After a few days of hot dogs, pizza and other similar fare, my body was screaming for a salad. What I had: Pret’s Cobb & Greens Salad: antiobiotic-​free grilled chicken, walnuts, blue cheese crumbles, cranberries, cherry tomatoes, and mesclun with a balsamic vinagrette. It was quite good and hit the spot. I also ordered a Chai Latte which I wasn’t too fond of, even after I had doctored it up with Splenda. Next time I will pass.

LOVE a place that donates their food at the end of the day. 5 stars to them for that.
Pret used to be so good years ago when it first opened. But you know what rapid expansion usually means. Locations probably vary as well.
Pret is still good though and usually fresh salads — even though they are sitting there packaged. Decent premade sandwiches.
The best I can recommend though is their pain au chocolate — beats Financier’s!

Today was National Coffee Day. (reference:

Many renown coffee shops were to give out a free cup of coffee. I was told by my colleague that this Pret location was participating; he got his free coffee.
When I walked over, fighting Wall St. protestors in the late afternoon for my pick me up coffee, I was denied a free cup. In fact, the lady behind the counter gave me attitude that I needed a special «ID» and be a part of a «certain company» to get free coffee a few days a week.
No, bitch, it was National Free Coffee Day. I told her; I explained to her that my colleague got free coffee.
She did not want to give me a freaking free cup of .75 cents coffee.
On another note, Pret in general is too damn expensive… for packaged food!
But I am mostly sore about being told this place gave out free coffee on National Coffee Day (which they did) but would not for me.

Every now and then I enjoy a fresh tasting sanwich that is not overwhelming with filling of it contents. Albeit I must agree with other Unilocalers that Pret A Manger is ridiculously overpriced for a measly Smoked ham and Parmesan sandwich that is not plentiful at $ 5.99. At this Financial District location, service is attentive and courteous as I always request a sales receipt to track my notes to write my Unilocal reviews should business cards or take-​out menu are not available.
Note to laptop and tablet device junkies: Free Wi-​Fi connection where password is noted on sales receipt available upon request.

After 3 years of Wall Street area lunch burn out I gave up. I started going to Pret every single day. Everything else was poop. Pret has predictable sandwiches that aren’t half bad and that I don’t have to wait for. The ice coffee sucks but has caffeine. The chocolate chip cookie is awesome and warm and Serious Eats approves.
There’s a nice girl who must be the manager who’s the most sincerely courteous person I’ve ever run into in New York City. It really makes my lunch.
Also, I appreciate that they’ve taken a line out of Taiichi Ono’s philosophy and use kanban (
) on their sandwiches. The sticker that seals the sandwiches and salads is actually a clock. The sticker is marked at the time that the sandwich is made (for internal use). Here’s a pic:
