Thank goodness for this Indian restaurant being in the neighborhood. I wouldn’t know what to do at times of craving Indian food if this place wasn’t around. I’m thankful for this. They’re very accommodating and their dishes aren’t spicy hot. Mostly mild to not spicy at all. I had forgotten to tell them not spicy once before when I ordered for delivery and the food came mild, and not super hot that you cannot enjoy the flavors of the food. It’s very affordable compare to the one in Madison and their delivery is prompt. Only a couple of things I would like to add that I wish they would consider to add and subtract. One is brown rice. I certainly hope I’m not the only one who would like to eliminate white rice so please consider having this one on your menu someday, soon. Pretty please? Secondly, the pakoras are so amazing but they’re way too sweet! The bananas are already naturally sweet but to add sugar in a batter just makes it over the top. Also consider a different batter than white flour. Other places cook it with chickpea flour. It’ll still be super good and healthier. Well except for the deep fried. Do you think baking the pakoras is an option? Hmm. That’s all I have to add on this. But overall you have my vote for the most tastiest and inexpensive and gloriously generous portions ever! Thank you. PS. I love that you serve lunch buffet!

I’m a regular for both takeout and dine in. Amazing food, great staff. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in East Harlem. Veggie samosa, plain nan, vegetable curry, and the chicken tikka masala are my personal favorites.

The wait for our meal was long and there was only one more table being served. Also the tikka wasn’t that great! Not as tasty as other places.

I haven’t lived in New York for six years and I still think about this place. Incredibly kind staff, quick delivery, and food that’s way better than it needs to be. All your Indian takeaway staples are on point. m, but I liked the Aloo Gobi most of all. Someday, I’ll be back!

I was told on the phone that it was«a minimum of $ 50 for delivery.» A bit absurd. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere.

Quality of food here has been consistent since the day they opened 10 years ago! This family really takes pride in the food they cook and serve. I love every dish I have tried in the past 10 years! My favorite is fish(salmon) mackni and I must have the paratha!!! I take family members here and they love it. Also, coworkers in the past have been impressed by the food! I love the family that owns and operates this place. They practice high work ethic and cleanliness! Keep up the great work!

I’ve eaten here several times because its across my campus. The food is decent but I find it to be overly salty. Last week I went for the lunch buffet(now $ 8.95) right at noon when they open and was surprised to see that the buffet was already set up and ready to go. The tandoori chicken wasn’t dry and did not show evidence that it was reheated leftovers. Great place to go for food to be served quickly. I enjoyed the beef curry and the dish with chickpea and spinach. There is a delicious yogurt sauce that you could serve with your rice/naan. Don’t overlook it!

Look, I know what you’re thinking. It’s an Indian restaurant in Spanish Harlem. But it is without question my favorite Indian restaurant in NYC. It’s so cheap, absolutely delicious, and has quick service. I travel about 40 minutes to go here because it’s just reliably fantastic. Particularly delicious: lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, paneer tikka masala, the spinach/chickpea thing they have out at the lunch buffet, kheer, mango lassi

First off I love the food, and they deliver quickly. So for food quality I would give them 4.5 stars. The problem is that I have tried to pay for my food delivery in cash on 3 separate occasions. Each time the delivery guy gets here and says he doesn’t have any change… Today I tried something different, when I ordered I asked for my total, $ 12.50, and told them I only had a $ 20 bill, which was true. The guy on the phone said no problem, they would make sure the delivery guy had change. Sure enough, the delivery guy shows up and says he doesn’t have any change. So I told him to wait there a second while I called the restaurant. They said he had change, because I was the only delivery and because I had asked for it! In the end, I wound up paying with my card over the phone. I don’t usually make assumptions, but it looks to me like their delivery guy is trying to hustle patrons out of more money. I get it, I was a pizza delivery girl in high school, the money isn’t great, but try earning your tips, not stealing them. Yours Truly, Bindi Masala Junkie

Went here for lunch buffet this afternoon, read Unilocal reviews. Was excited to try this place. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to my expectation. Chicken tikka was dry, didn’t have any good vegetarian options. The only somewhat decent thing was the keema. There was no dessert on the buffet menu. Will not go back here.

This is my first time writing a review on Unilocal after a while of using this app. I went there for the buffet lunch and the food was just great. Even though it was self serve, the service there was amazing and he made sure we got whatever we needed. This place deserves more business than it gets. Highly recommend! Also the best tandoori I’ve ever had forreal

Great food, inexpensive and not spicy at all. The lunch buffet is a total bargain. All you can eat chicken, beef and vegetable curry with basmati rice, salad, assorted appetizers and their incredible naan. Nice place to go if you are in the mood of Indian and want to spend less and eat a lot!

Came here for the lunch buffet special — great deal but food was not as good as I was was hoping. The tandoori chicken was pretty dry and somewhat overcooked, beef and chicken curries were average and I was not impressed by the vegetable dishes. The naan was ok. Service was friendly and atmosphere was decent. Perhaps their freshly served dishes are better but brunch did not deliver in my humble opinion.

I’ve tried the buffet here, and thought the basic popular dishes like chicken tikka masala and veggie curries were okay and I liked the chicken tikka and naan. It’s nice to have a Desi restaurant as an option in Spanish Harlem.
