Watered down chutney, bland food. Do not recommend. Ordered for delivery, which was very quick, but at the expense of food quality.

Extremely disappointing. I ordered the lamb saag for dinner from here and it wasn’t flavorful at all. The chunks of meat were stringy, gristly, and tough. Definitely the most overpriced Indian food for the value that I’ve had in the city. No wonder this place is always empty and dark.

The food is delicious. I do take outs and while waiting for the food, I’m treated to a spice tea which is absolutely the best. Go and enjoy!

Authentic Indian cuisine, with impeccable service. I had the lunch special with the lentil soup and Chicken Masala, and Naan for only $ 9.95! I highly recommend this !

I can’t comment on the restaurant because I just received delivery, but I was extremely disappointed. The Begum Bhajee is blandest thing I’ve ever gotten from an Indian restaurant. They didn’t deliver the shaag naan, but sent some sugary-tasting bread instead.(I don’t know what it is.) The worst disappointment was the Red Chili Mixed Grill, described on the menu as a «Platter of tandoori specialties consisting of chicken tandoori, shish kebab, chicken and lamb tikka and shrimp served with seasoning.» I’m not an expert on Indian food but I’ve had tandoori at dozens of restaurants and this bore little resemblance to the actual dish. It was about ½ of a chicken covered with sticky, very not-Indian, sauce. There were a few bits of a sausage of so sort and something else that tasted like tofu. No chicken or lamb tikka and definitely no shrimp. For the most expensive item on the menu, this is inexplicable. Very disappointing.

I’ve ordered from here a number of times. Most recently I came here for lunch. I’m not all that adventurous with Indian food. I generally go for a Chicken tikka masala or one of the other favourites. This place has been consistently good.

I ordered the lunch special and I had to throw half of it away. The lassi was spoiled, the naan had sauce spilled on it that was not from my order, the samaosa was wrapped up with some salad stuck to it, and all the food was cold.

I lived in Harlem for six years and was happy when Red Chili came along. The ambiance in the place isn’t the best and it’s never been very busy, but the food and service are outstanding. Some solid north indian food and it seems like every time we eat in the restaurant they give us free appetizer or dessert — they care, serve delicious food, and want to be a great restaurant, so buy from them!

The delivery isn’t bad, they do take kind of long, but the food is great. For about $ 12, you get a lot of food if you order their lunch special. This means a choice of a soup, rice, meat dish, naan, and various chutneys(the green, red, and brown ones you typically get). It’s a pretty good deal, considering that there’s massive amounts of carbs. The soup was absolutely delicious — I believe I got the vegetable soup and it had a touch of lemon, making it perfect. The chicken tikka masala was also fabulous — large chunks of chicken and a Chinese-container of rice was more than enough for me. The naan is large and likely to be left unconsumed, but great for a snack later! They also included a $ 10 of $ 15 card from Seamless, so I will likely be ordering again.

I ordered the butter chicken and my father ordered the chicken tikka masala. we soon discovered it to be the same dish. Only his was sweeter. I though that maybe that maybe it was the dishes we choose, but I had some of my mothers curry chicken which was flavorless. I love indian food and was disappointed. I thought it was called Red Chili for a reason. I thought it would have some heat not some sweet. The only thing we liked was the tandoori wings. I would order that again(even though it could have used a bit more heat). I wish this place was better. Maybe I will go back and they will improve.

I thought it was way over priced and not that great. I’ve definitely had better curry and samosas elsewhere, and their mango lassi was watery. The curry was very, very thick. I keep reading about lunch specials out here for 10.00. My food came out to just shy of 30.00 on a Saturday afternoon. Granted, I did order vegetable samosas and lassi with the main course of curry chicken, but still. I can see 20.00, that is usually about average for Indian dining. I guess they charge for everything separately-like the naan bread and rice that is usually complimentary with your meal at most Indian spots. Not worth the price, IMO.

Ordered delivery last weekend and I can’t stop thinking about Indian food since. Their naan is something else! Possibly best I’ve had. I shared the amazing Aloo Gobi and Saag Dal and two types of soup(when in doubt — go for veggie soup). Also ordered a meat and veggie samosa — cute but wish I could chose not spicy. I’ll be back to report the on-premise experience :)

We did not dine in we ordered for take out… The food was nasty. The reviewers who wrote about it being sugar central were absolutely right on the money. By far the worst chicken tikka masala, if you can call it that, I have ever tasted. Never again. Horrible and disgusting.

These guys are great! This review is about delivery only. Great portions, very flavorful food. I’ve ordered chicken and butter chicken and samosas, all are really good! They deliver very quickly(granted I live on the same block lol), they never messed up my order and they even called me once to say they didn’t have some ingredient and asked what I’d like instead. I ordered them for thanksgiving lunch as well, and they delivered very quickly!

This place is THEBEST in the upper west side/morningside heights area for Indian delivery– not only is the food BOMB but the delivery service is awesome and easy. Once, I was in a large group and we ordered from here with our names in the comments section on grubhub, and when it arrived hey had written our names on the food containers! Absolutely excellent.

Red Chilli is a cozy little pocket of a restaurant located in the historical district of Harlem. With bright lights lining the ceilings and vibrant red and orange patterns covering the furniture, Red Chilli is a cute take on traditional Indian cuisine. I came here with a friend and got a Mango Lassi(yogurt drink) with Aloo Gobi(cauliflower, peas, potatoes in spices) which came with naan and my choice of veggie or lentil soup. My lassi was thick and sweet and although I usually prefer a more natural tasting mango, I wasn’t disappointed here. My aloo Gobi was spicy and hearty over rice. And the naan – THENAAN! Don’t even get me started. Buttery, soft, flaky and very good. We were served a sauce tray with this really good spicy green sauce, mildly spicy, tomatoes, and a sweet brown sauce that I enjoyed mixing in my soup. My friend got the chicken tikka masala and said it was a bit too sweet and her soup had a weird lemony twinge to it, but overall those are the only grievances. 7.5÷10!

I’ve never been to India but this food is good. The décor is hideous but one goes for the food not the décor. I did think the tiki masala was a bit sweet, I’ve never had it that sweet at an Indian restaurant before but all in all good. Go for lunch you get a lot of food.
