The Play By Play Restaurant is located on one of the upper floors at Madison Square Garden. It is only open 2 hours before a game up to 1 hour after and only open to MSG Club ticket/suite holders. I came here the other day before a Ranger game. The restaurant has a typical sports bar theme/atmosphere with pictures/paintings of professional sports teams who play at MSG. They had a special menu insert for the specials of the day from appetizer to I think dessert. I ordered the special four cheese French bread pizza. My friend ordered the Southwestern Turkey Panini. Both meals came out within 15 – 20 minutes. The French bread pizza was very good. Part of the reason I ordered it was my memory of simple, delicious French bread pizza that was served almost every Wednesday at my elementary school. It definitely hit the spot. We split half/half so I got to try some of the Southwestern Turkey Panini. This was delicious as well. The sauce they used had a kick and was really good. Unfortunately the panini was pretty dry along the edges where the sauce was lacking. This place was definitely not the best food I’ve ever had, nor was it bad and the prices were very reasonable considering this was a restaurant in a sports arena. I was going to give this a 3, but with the reasonable prices, I’m going to say 4.
