I came up from Miami, where they don’t know how to pizza. Stopped here on testing Christmas eve after day at Moma. I wanted to give my wife and kids a taste of a New York Italian place. This place delivered pure, plain, and simple. Stromboli was as I remembered from thirty or more years ago. Thank you.

If you’re looking for NYC pizza, do not come here. It’s not even fresh you’re better off ordering from Pizza Hut. Their pizzas are pre-made so once you order, they will re-heat the pizza for you. Try Grimaldi’s or Lombardi’s, soooo much better!

After a day touristing this is just want my boyfriend and I needed — good, cheap food, casual atmosphere, and cheap bottled beer(3.50 for a bottle of Sam!). This is what we got here — DELICIOUS pizza, fun staff. Great pick if you’re near the base of Central Park.

AFter a day spent walking around NYC, this little pizzeria located a few blocks from Central Park is just the thing one needs to recharge before heading back out again. Once you walk in you are overwhelmed with the smell of fresh pasta, pizza and pastries & you know that you made the right decision. $ 3 for a slice of pizza in downtown NYC?! Who can beat that?! Perfect portions, not covered in grease & friendly svc. If you’re in the city & nearby then def make it a point to stop by.

The pizza here is very disappointing. I needed food, and quick. I was rushing to get to a concert and this was the first and only place I saw. I ran in for pizza and as soon as I saw the pizza, I already knew it wouldn’t taste good. But, I am all about giving chances, so I gave this pizza a chance. I ordered a veggie slice, and as it looked… it tasted. I would never recommend this place to anyone or come back for the pizza.

Good prices, good pizza, and loved the make-your-own salad option! It may not be my last visit on this trip! :-)

Was finally able to try some NY pizza on my 3 trip to the big apple. The pizza was good and reasonably cheap but I was not overly impressed. These smug New Yorkers always talk so highly of their pizza but there was nothing special about it. It’s something in the NY water they say that makes their pizza so great. I’m sorry but I’ve had better pizza out here in Cali. To sum it up, Pizza Villagio has good pizza and NY pizza is highly overrated.

Stopped in this place waiting for the apple store to repair my computer. I got a slice of cheese with mushroom and the boyfriend got a slice of what he thought was tomato and a slice of plain cheese. My mushroom slice was pretty good. The tomato slice was actually tomato and garlic(which we couldn’t see at first) and that ended up being too much. The plain cheese pizza was just edible. It was pretty bland, nothing special. The place was crowded, but we caught a table upstairs. We had some flies bothering us throughout our meal. Good for a slice on the go, but I definitely would’t go out of my way to come here.

Stopped in here while waiting for my friend’s flight to get in from Chicago. The weather was bad, so I couldn’t sit in the park, and just wanted a spot to read. I got a cup of coffee and a bagel. I asked for scallion cream cheese, but they gave me plain, which was disappointing. I saw a lot of locals stopping in for breakfast. Everything was fine, but«meh» really sums it up.

Wow… surprised at some the harsh reviews on here considering my visit was nothing short of fabulous. The pizza here is true NY Style pizza, thin, HUGE, and greasy… yummy! My girlfriend and I tried the simple pepperoni slices and she even had a few meatballs to see if they were any good. When her eyes rolled into the back of her head, no words needed to be said. I tried a meatball for myself and concurred that they were absolutely fantastic. The interior and the service is a no frills type approach and that’s pretty much par for the course for pizza joints in Manhattan. There’s overflow seating upstairs and that can give you a bit more privacy if you are on a date or whatever. There are windows upstairs but not much of a view really. I highly recommend this place and the next time I go I will definitely have to check out the desserts. They looked incredible!

I’m a relapsed pizzaholic. While I was in NYC, I expected to straight OD on pizza. This was my first slice in the city this time. It thwarted me from ODing. The whole experience here was off kilter. I agree with Shawn A. about the bait’n’switch this place pulled. I sensed that as I walked past the refrigerated sandwich displays and the steam table filled with yesterdays ugh-plant parm and soggy pasta. But I was so tired from not really shopping at Bergdorf’s(and all of the other little swanky shops and boutiques nearby) that I needed to regroup. Saving money is hard work and I needed to reward myself with a slice. Wish I had held out for Otto or Ray’s or(dam) Artichoke. They rushed me. The slice didn’t have everything I wanted on it. It was such flat, lifeless crust, with a mere spattering of barely seasoned sauce. I didn’t know which beverage I wanted or that I had to pluck it from the cooler before I got up to the cash register. I didn’t know the process and I was just slightly perturbed all around. I won’t be back.

If on par was a slice of pizza, it wouldn’t be this pizza(esp in NYC). This is a bit below par. Not terrible, but, if you’re in NYC, you expect some good pizza. Butttt, the location is spectacular, so, run on by. The service is quite good too, along with the selection. PS — they have the little 7oz bottles of coke. Not sure why it is notable, but I feel like since I remembered that, it was.

Pizza Villagio has yet to disappoint me. The service is always fast and the staff are always courteous. My favorite is the lasagna pizza. The slices are large and the crust is crisp and it oozes of ricotta and mozzerella. I have also dined on the other side on occasion. The food isn’t spectacular, but it is definitely a good spot for a quick and inexpensive burger and fries during your lunch hour.

Not a bad place to grab some food if you are around the Southeastern corner of Central Park. The food isn’t really anything exceptional… but it also isn’t «spit-it-out» gross. I’d probably give it a 3 ½ stars… but until then, they get 3. The pizza is good… crusty on the bottom, good cheese and good flavor. Nothing here is great… but at least it isn’t Sbarro’s.

I had a few minutes before my work shift began and desired a little something to tie me down before my lunch at 4pm. The strawberry croissant is fresh and very tasty. This café is clean and has a warm décor, don’t let the scaffolding discourage patrons from entering. I rate it four stars as there is no hospitality of being greeted of proper customer service.

Their 7 toppings pizza was the bomb! We were looking for a place to eat after riding the horse drawn carriage through central park. What a find. The pizza was so good I had a second slice. Each bite was filled with different flavors from the seven toppings… mouth watering just thinking about it. Will def be back on our next trip. They also have a large selection of pasta, other italian and sandwiches/panini…but didn’t try those because I was entranced with the pizza.
