Very reasonably priced, considering its on Central Park South. A good selection of wines. Had veal scallopini and it was delicious. The service was excellent.

I was in the mood for good, authentic NYC Italian. I found this place after taking a stroll through Central Park… and was bummed to find out that it’s a chain. The food was pretty good, though. Definitely worth checking out.

I would rarely give a bad star rating to a restaurant. So for this one, the food was ok(not great), a little pricey for what it is. The worst part is the service: we couldn’t read the menu because the waiter was coming every single minute to see if we were ready, if we said no he kept reciting what was written there annoyingly. Then, when we ordered 3 plates with no drinks SO he gave us this OBVIOUS look because obviously his tip was getting a kick. While we were eating he interrupted us to start talking and making useless conversation when we bearly understood what he was saying because of his strong accent. AND, at the end, when he brought the bill. He insisted on the fact that it doesn’t include the tip, showed us a choice of 18% to 25% tip, when we all know that I have to put the tip amount when he brings back my receipt and my card. Then. As soon as we wrote the tip amount, he run to the table to see it even if we were still seated and coats off. One word: WTF? To be brief: we are super quick and left as soon as we could, I didn’t et the chance to catch up with my friends because I couldn’t converse with them around my meal.

THEYHAVECHANGEDTHEIRMENUFROMWHATISON Unilocal! No more pizza, etc. We went on 12÷11÷15 and they had changed their menu 2 weeks prior to «fit the location and demographic better» aka fancier menu items and more expensive. We were here for a few afternoon snacks. We had the salad with goat cheese and candied walnuts which was excellent. We also had the mozzarella caprese salad which was another great item. Overall, the food was great but quite pricey for what you got. After two beers, the two appetizers, an 8 $ of flat water and a hot chocolate it was 80 $.

Stopped in for dinner after viewing it on Unilocal.Turns out the menu changed, and it lost most of the traditional items. I told the waiter I wanted pasta, red sauce and meatballs or sausage. He said they didn’t have either, but he did get them to put tomato sauce with the veal ragout over spaghetti. It was amazing!!! If you can’t find what you want, ask and they can make something! I wish the would put the spaghetti with meatballs and the chicken Parmesan, back on the menu.

Late afternoon snack time. Glasses of wine with the tuna appetizer, which was fantastic. I was scared of a tourist trap being hard by Central Park. No need to worry. Excellent spot and wish we could have gone to a full dinner here.

The food was quite tasty, and the location was very nice. We had an early-ish reservation(5;30p) and the restaurant didn’t get busier until around 7:30. The service was well meaning, but erratic, hard to find our waiter at times. We had theater tickets that night and we were frustrated with the pacing of the meals… things took a long time to arrive. We barely made it to our 8pm show. So, good food, be sure to stay on top of the servers.

You changed your menu. Bad decision! Your old menu was amazing! We will not be back. The service was amazing. You will be out of business soon.

Personally I’m not a big fan of Italian; as I always tried to stay away from cheese and starch. But this one caught me with its decent taste. We had a group of ten people so had to admit the fact that finding a spacious place was difficult. So we were pretty happy with Villagio. We shared a bunch of appetizers — grilled octopus, fried octopus, some salad. I’d say my favorite part would be the main dish — linguine pasta with clam sauce and garlic, and real clam! Garlic always tastes so good… Our server was also very responsible and checking on us occasionally. Overall a good experience and I’m suggesting Villagio to Italian food hunter.

Villagio Is a great Italian restaurant. It’s a beautiful place from the inside, and of course has a great view on the park. There are plenty of professional waiters at the place, which made sure I never was out of something to drink or eat during my stay. The prices of the restaurant could be considered cheap based upon the location of the restaurant and the service that they provide. But most important of all is the food of course. Because we were with a group we decided to have a shared menu, which consisted of some pasta’s, pizza’s up front, the lasagna as the main course and afterwards a select choice of some desserts. The food in general is actually really good considering the price, and they made sure there was plenty to go around for our group. If you’re visiting New York for a short period of time it’s definitely a place worth going to, mainly because of the location of the restaurant. If you’re a local I would suggest to have a group dinner with a couple of friends, and enjoy a reasonable priced evening.

Very nice view at Central Park. Beautiful interior with good selection of Italian seafood including carpaccio and lobster ravioli– better than my Boston north end experience…

I came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant itself is beautiful and it was really nice to sit outside along Central Park South which is something I never do! The place was packed on a Friday evening, with some locals and plenty of tourists. The staff is very professional. We started off with the caprese salad, a classic favorite of mine. It was beautifully presented and I loves that the mozzarella had the basil layered in. It was missing a key ingredient of mine, a high-end, aged, sweet balsamic vinegar. To me, that makes a caprese salad. This version was served with a basil olive oil which was tasty, but it wasn’t balsamic! For my entrée, I went with another classic, and my favorite Italian dish, chicken parmigiana. I still cannot believe the size of the dish. It fed me for an additional 2 meals after this dinner. Unfortunately, size isn’t everything! I know many people would say, but it’s just chicken parm, but it wasn’t anything special and I get chicken parm everywhere I go! It was extremely mediocre. My boyfriend had the ossobuco, which was also a massive portion, and also beautifully displayed, with bone and all. It was great, lots of flavor and the meat pretty much melted in your mouth. I wasn’t a fan of the risotto side underneath, but he enjoyed it! Overall, I enjoyed the evening and meal, but I won’t place it on my list of places to return. It’s tough to top some of the amazing Italian restaurants in this city, but if you’re looking for a nice night on the park, or are just near CP looking for a high-end restaurant, this is definitely a nice option.

Excellent food and such caring waiters! The ambiance and decorations were beautiful! Especially the lights on the ceiling! It’s in such a nice area on the park and the views both inside and outside were great! Food came out in a perfect amount of time, as well, not too long or short!

Staying at the Essex Marriott and this is our second taste at Villago. We split octopus appetizer and Cesare Salade. Delicious. My partner had Branzino and linguine and clams. The servers bend over backwards to make the guest comfortable, the bread was crusty and the dip was complimenarty to the bread. If you stay on Central Park ave south, do yourself a favor and enjoy the delicious food, ambiance and service at this outstanding eatery across from the park, and you will be happy.

Excellent service and food quality! All the risottos are great. I recommend the porcini risotto. We ordered the pana cotta and semifredo for dessert. Both were very good. And for its location, I don’t think the price was too high. About 30 $ per person for lunch. Very friendly staff!

Villagio is the ultimate Italian restaurant. Customers in Duck Dynasty gear to business suits, filled the room, all admiring the delectable food and wine offered. The«bread» for the table consisted of some tortilla like slices, baked and crisped awaiting the tomatoes in oil to top them(which I did with pleasure). For an appetizer, we had the taste grilled octopus, and followed it with chicken Alfredo and lasagna — both served in the perfect sizing to fill us up. The wine bottle cost us around $ 60, but we were celebrating my birthday and decided it was worth it. We were so buzzed, it lasted almost the entire day. If you love true Italian cuisine, this is the place to be. It’s good for dates w/friends, family, or romantic settings with a view of the park and white table service.

Their quinoa pasta with tomato sauce hit the spot. It was perfection. The cosmo cost $ 18. Not worth it in my opinion. They gave us a basket of bread and then a plate of even more complimentary flat bread. Waiters were very nice and the interior was very bright and pretty.

I visited Villagio before heading to Carnegie Hall on a Friday night, so our dinner was earlier than usual, about 6:15pm. The place was pretty empty, but filled up quickly throughout our dinner. The service was excellent — and remained excellent even after they became busy. *The prices shown on Unilocal are not accurate(Price of Lasagna on Unilocal = $ 13.50, price on actual menu in restaurant = $ 22)* I thought my dinner was worth the price, but I would have liked to known the REAL prices before going. My martini was served with the martini shaker for a little extra, always a plus :) Appetizer: Grilled Octopus. Very good, lemony and cooked correctly. It wasn’t chewy at all. Dinner: I ordered the special, Lobster Ravioli topped with Shrimp in a pink sauce, it was about $ 36, but well worth it. HUGE chunks of lobster in the ravioli, pink sauce was extremely flavorful and the [4] shrimp were jumbo. My boyfriend had the Seafood Risotto which I think was about $ 28. A little TOO fishy tasting for me, but apparently that’s the point of SEAFOOD risotto… He downed it all. No time for dessert, but totally craved it.
