I needed to see an internist for a second opinion. I called, and his receptionist answered. I could tell from her tone of voice that she was not a very patient person. She immediately asked me what insurance I had. I replied, and in a second, she says, «oh he doesn’t take that.» I explained that my insurance had a very good out of network coverage and that I could pay out of pocket in advance as long as I could receive a statement with proper CPT codes. I asked what his fee for a regular checkup/consultation for abdominal pain. She got rather frustrated but told me the fee. When I asked what CPT code the fee was under, she yelled at me, «I don’t know what „IPT“ code, and I don’t have time for this.» Click. Truly unfortunate. I was referred by my acupuncturist whom I trust very much, and Dr. Pitaro must be a great one(biased, but nonetheless). I wonder if I was unlucky or he only has only one receptionist, who treats patients with this kind of matter???

I’ve being going to Dr. Pitaro for many years and am very satisfied with him as my primary care physician. He takes his time with you, explains procedures and is open to alternative medicine. I see him once a year, but is there on the rare occasion that I need to see him immediately.

LOVEHIM! Outstanding physcian. Even though I have moved out of state, still consider him my MD. No one has measured up to him. Very personable, caring and most important a great diagnostician. He takes his time with you, doesnt rush you out of the office. I recomend him to any one needing a great internal medicine man.

Can’t say enough great things about Dr. Pitaro. I’ve been seeing him for about 13 years at Murray Hill Medical Group. He is personable and usually sees me on time; he doesn’t condescend; he answers all my questions; and he is available for follow up if I need it. And his examination room has pictures drawn by his(very cute) kids and of his wife and kids. I think he might not be accepting new patients from most insurance companies(he takes several), though.
