It’s a decent spot if you’re looking for a quick pit stop for take out. There aren’t that many seats– all stools that seat about 4 at the front and around 8 – 10 in the back. I couldn’t understand what the lady cashier was saying(very thick accent, but I tried my best), so I prayed she got my orders right and sat. My SO had to come into the office on a Sunday, so I decided to accompany him, and since it was a Sunday, there were no other patrons(as is the case in most of FiDi spots– was shocked that this was open to begin with). They have a couple Pita Press stores across the city, and also available for delivery via seamless. We felt a bit hungry on our way out and thought we’d try out the platters. We ordered the chicken souvlaki and roasted chicken platters. The chicken souvlaki was a bit greasy. The sides I chose ended up doubling up on my tomatoes and cucumber count. The brown rice and tzatziki sauce was was average, as was everything else. The shepherd’s salad was mediocre — a bit soggy, likely bc it was made earlier in the day. Despite all that, this would be on my rotation list for lunch spots if I worked near here, as there really aren’t that many good ones around. I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to food carts, but I’m sure it’d beat Pita Press by a mile in the taste department.

Got the lamb/beef platter. The meat itself was low quality, overly greasy and salty. Even eating it with tzatziki sauce, it was still way too greasy. You’d be better off hitting up the greek cart and Wall/Broad St. The fries were good, I can say that. I won’t be back.

The salad I had was very tasty(horiatiki), but barely the size of a side salad. The ingredients are so inexpensive, it would seem like a small thing to make this into an actual meal size. I liked it, but it’s not worth $ 13($ 10, plus $ 3 to add chicken). I know it’s fidi, but the salads everywhere else are better sized and comparably priced. Were it not for the portion size, I would have given a higher rating.

I ordered the Sliced Roasted Chicken from the Plates section with a cucumber tomato salad off of Seamless. The food is brought in one box together so it is very messy and the different foods end up all over each other, but that didn’t really bother me. The sides were average and didn’t do much for me but the chicken itself was amazing and had everyone in the office wishing they had ordered with me. I would definitely come back here and probably mix up the sides.

Ordered on Seamless and the food didn’t come for over an hour and a half. Truly unacceptable service. The food is good, but I will never be ordering from here again.

For meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, get the vegetarian pita. It is pure perfection… balanced flavors and textures. Service was friendly and efficient.

The cashier here is so damn mean, that even though the food is decent, I will never return. My first visit, while I was attempting to enter the door, someone was exiting, and they stumbled down on the street. There really should be a step there, and the people behind the counter really should warn everybody to watch their step. But I had to wait 5 minutes to place my order so the cashier could finish laughing and mocking & ridiculing the person who fell! My second visit, as soon as I entered, the cashier asked me what I wanted, and I said I had no idea and needed a minute to look at the menu, and she scoffed at me, FINELETMEKNOWWHENYOU’REREADY, as she stormed off, after I made up mind whenever I tried to get her attention she literally said NOTYET, NOTNOW, as she was joking and jibing with the kitchen staff, while taunting me. The fig and goat cheese salad was good. The zucchini blossom fritters were great. But the wretched cashier(the same woman in both of my experiences, leaves an awful taste in my mouth — as it were… If you want Greek food nearby, I heartily recommend GRK a couple blocks up on Fulton, where everything is much better.

Delivery is crazy quick and the food is always consistent. They sometimes don’t put the right pita with the platters but that’s not a huge deal in my mind. My only other complaint is that occasionally the chicken in the chicken souvlaki platter is a little over charred. but overall, it’s a delicious lunch spot for anyone in FIDI.

The sandwich is crazy good. skip the little pies. Love the vegan tomato fritters — though I’m fairly sure once they gave me the zucchini and cheese ones. Definitely worth the money!

All around a good option for lunch in this area. The spanakopita salad is super yummy — the yogurt-based dressing still feels light and healthy, while the mini spanakopita pieces add that savory crunchiness you typically get from a croûton. The gyros looked great here, so I may be back soon to try one.

I love the greek fries and zucchini friters. I have had the chicken soulvaki and the lamb and beef gyro. The lamb and beef gyro is better. My husband had the cheese pie and liked it.

Using Unilocal to search for Greek pitas my food travels takes me to the Financial District. My one pork pita $ 7.40 was very messy and the lettuce does not appear fresh. The Tzatziki sauce was mediocre. My pita was wrapped in a roll to be consumed on the go New York style. Desserts and traditional Greek sweets of Baklava and Kataifi are available including the popular rise of Greek yogurt. Note: No restroom facility on site. No utensil counter or napkin freely out in the open to dispense as all is distributed in your order. Since there are no restroom facility on site Pita Press should at least provide moist towelettes for patrons who do dine-in. Bring your own moist towelettes or hand sanitizer. Pita Press contains very minimal ledge(not table) seating available with stools as this eatery is designed for takeout. I am not overall impressed.

Yummy!!! I’ve had Pita Press a few times and I have yet to be disappointed. Today I had Chicken Souvlaki and Cucumber Salad, which I only have one word to describe it, «delicious.» This is the closest to authentic Greek food you will get from a Greek Chain restaurant.

This review is strictly on delivery. I have never been inside this establishment. I order delivery from here when I am at work a few times a month. I LOVE their food. For my side I nearly almost always get the giant baked beans. Those are absolutely my favorite. If I ever find a nice young greek man, whose parents come from Greece, I’m doing everything I can to win him over so he can introduce me to his Greek family, and I can go over for dinner. That’s how this place makes me feel. This place makes me want to go Greece and it makes me want to marry a handsome dark haired, light eyed, greek man. I know it’s crazy how food can do that to you. I’ve tried all the options listed under plates. I have zero complaints. My favorite is the roasted chicken. So moist and flavorful! Today I tried the Bifteki. It was good, but I’m not certain what meat they used to make the burger. Maybe if I knew greek, I would know. Where is that Greek Man when I need him? Haha. The only complaint I have is that they put their food in cardboard boxes and then wrap it in plastic wrap to deliver the food. You can’t do that. It makes the cardboard damp and soggy. They need to fix this method, & I’ll change my review to 5 stars.

I never really eat this kind of food but I was sort of craving it the other night. I ordered on seamless since it was a 15% off deal. The delivery was very quick. Based on overall reviews, I ordered what seemed to be the two most popular items on the menu. I got the chicken souvlaki gyro with extra tzatziki sauce of course. To pair, I ordered a side of the Greek fries which come with feta on top. Both were very delicious. Maybe the only flaw I could say is the gyro itself is pretty small but after it was all done, it fixed my crave. My new go-to Greek downtown.

I came here for lunch and I was excited to finally try this place because I knew that this was a very popular lunch spot. I opted for the chicken souvlaki platter. They give a side salad when you order when you order a platter in addition to another side. I thought that was a great deal. Unfortunately, my whole meal was burnt. Everything that could be burnt was burnt. The pita was burnt and my chicken was burnt. The lemon potatoes were subpar. As I was eating this I was super sad. Hungry me kept picking around the burnt parts hoping to salvage some pieces. I then took a bite into a piece of chicken that I saw was bloody. I immediately threw it away! Bloody chicken is completely unacceptable. I’m hoping that this was just an off day for them, but I will not be returning.

Very average, it’s okay if you want greek. About the same as the other option in the area. I think it’s a tad bit on the expensive side as well. The lamb just didn’t have much flavor. The fried stuff and eggplant dip was alright as well. Smoothie tasted like a banana and yogurt, expensive too. Won’t be coming back unless I’m desperate.

A decent Greek spot in the financial district. I would rate this location overall 3.5 stars. It is a solid option for lunch but not much more. I ordered the chicken souvlaki with the lemon potatoes and they were pretty good. The chicken was cooked and seasoned well but a tad bit dry. Service was fast and no complaints(typical nyc rush). There is no seating area here so be warned.

Good substitute for GRK Both GRK and Pita Press have gyros plates that are pretty similar so I will compare those directly. I’ve had all the meat plates at GRK. At Pita Press, I’ve had one over salted beef and lamb plate and a pretty good rotisserie pork. The pork warrants further examination. While GRK slices it’s pork to produce bacon-like strips, Pita Press slices the pork into chunks. GRK’s is more consistent(either tender or crisp), while at Pita Press the pork is either slightly overcooked or globs of delicious fat. I’ve found portions to be similar, with the edge to Pita Press. Overall, I prefer GRK, but would come to Pita Press if I wanted something else other than a plate or a pita.

I’m a bit conflicted on this place in terms of number of stars. On the one hand they have really generous portions for $ 10 plate more so than grk that’s few blocks nearby as well as the few Greek food trucks down by Old Slip that I frequent. But the meat was bit overly salty and I wished they gave more tzatziki sauce. The pita bread was pretty delicious however and the fries were decent. I think if the meat were done just a bit less dry and overly salty definitely would be bumping it up. It does its job fulfilling my craving for Greek foods lately however and next time would like to try a different protein meat :) So definitely a place to visit if you’re craving for some Greek food I think you’ll definitely be happy with the portion. It is bit surprisingly they have rotisserie chicken available as a choice of meat to mix things up a bit. Definitely happy that around 2 blocks there are so many lunch options now, this one is bit harder to find since on Cedar there’s not much else compared to on Maiden Lane. But the place was easy to spot once you’re at the right block. Inside is bit small with only few tables and a standing table, designed to get you to get the food and go back eat at the job desk~
