This review is long overdue. Came here with a couple friends when we were visiting NY. I have to say this was my least favorite restaurant out of the many we went to over the course of a week. I ordered a cheeseburger on a pretzel bun, fries and soda. The burger was over cooked and the bread was hard I couldn’t even bite into it, thinking I could wash down the taste with a delicious soda I was completely wrong. The soda was extremely flat and made the food taste worse than it actually did. When I opted for water I was disappointed to taste poor unfiltered tap water, I felt like I was drinking out of a sewer. I almost forgot to mention the service, the service service was unexplainably horrible. The waiter had no tables so it didn’t make sense when he rarely checked up on us and when he did it took forever to bring whatever we requested. When I walked over to use the restroom after him not checking in for 20+ minutes, I found him leaning over a chair watching tv. Smh. When he saw me he jumped up as if he was sorry and was going to check on our table but I was mistaken, he didn’t and I had to go back to him and ask for the check. He was a very sweet boy and maybe new? But 20 minutes really? It just didn’t seem like he cared to be there at all. Someone needs to teach him the motto«fake it till you make it»! Because he’s really going to need it, especially in the industry he is in.

We really enjoyed our pre-theater dinner. Crab cake appetizer very good. I liked the bean& corn salsa on the side. Fish tacos were good but I wish I had asked for sauce on side. My son had the chicken wings & onion rings. He enjoyed both. Disappointed they were out of oysters at 5:00! Great service. We bought t-shirts too

Decent for a bite to eat before or after a show in NYC. This used to be my go-to place in NY with the family for a good meal. But in recent years, it’s transformed into more of a sports bar, than an authentic Irish Pub. The look and feel are still quaint and enticing, but the menu has changed a bit, and in my opinion, not for the better. with so many options in NYC I wish they went back to their old ways, which really set them apart from the pack.

Went to the bar, for whatever reason they refused to put our tabs on separate cards, even though we were all purchasing our own drinks. When the tab came, we luckily had enough cash to split it ourself. After doing that, we left a few dollars on the total tab however, we were leaving the remaining tip in cash. Prior to putting the cash out, the bartender took it upon himself to call us out on leaving a cheap tip. He continued to get rude with us even after explaining that we would leave cash.

Visited in the city last week and just chanced upon the PignWhistle. Read the lunch chalkboard and went in for lunch. My friend had the bar hamburger and I had the roasted vegetables and mozzarella on a ciabatta roll. Both came with crispy/hot fries. $ 13 — $ 15 lunch specials included a drink. Waitress and busboy were attentive and both restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. It’s a keeper!

My family and I came in here after seeing Book of Mormon and the bartender was very friendly. It was a great place to just chill and relax.

They did a very good job of getting us out in time to make the curtain for our show. My wife enjoyed her burger platter with fries even though the fries weren’t crispy like she ordered, but then again we started off by telling our server we were in a rush. I had their Caesar Salad for $ 14 and added chicken for another $ 6. It was a good Caesar but at $ 20, I thought on the high side for an Irish pub even in the heart of the theater district. The place had a very lively bar scene and is probably better suited for after dinner drinks and food rather than pre-theater dinner. It’s just that it took us 1 hour and 45 minutes for get from the Holland Tunnel to the Theater District to park in a garage and since it was then after 7PM our dining options became limited. There is a one-person bathroom downstairs and 3 one person bathrooms upstairs. That info could save you a lot of time especially if you are eating or drinking downstairs. We appreciated them getting us in and out.

Called ahead for 5 people to watch college football. Came in, and despite a bunch of empty tables on both floors I was told if each person didn’t order an entrée, we would have to wait for open seats at the bars. So much for calling ahead. With seating for 10−12ish, waiting for 5 seemed crazy with so many open tables on a rainy afternoon. I clarified with the hostess and a server and was told«we should find somewhere else to go». I’ve Never been turned away so rudely from such an empty restaurant at 2:00 on a Saturday. Owners — you literally turned away money with open tables.

Great bar for Happy Hour specials right in the heart of Times Square. Draft beer selection better than most.

Stopped for lunch. Ed got the pork chop special, thin sliced bone in with sautéed onions and peppers. Fantastic. NJ h nj I got the grilled salmon with mango chutney. Great! The chutney was sweet but did not over power the fish. We had the Pig Whistle Ale. Amber, full bodied, clean finish. Finished the meal with«coffees» — the Flaming Pig — tasty with a slight burn at the end. Love the new location.

2 stars is more than generous. Asked for medium rare burger and it came well done. The grilled fish didn’t have a grill mark on it. Was served with a dollop of guac that was mushy and not fresh. The rice must have been 3 days old. Not good at all
