The entire experience was amazing. The bar is what really shines through. The bartender dreama was amazing. Easy to talk to and prompt service.

This place is super over priced for subpar food. How can it be difficult to cook Italian food? $ 11 for a side order of Barilla pasta with butter(for the kids). The penne alla vodka and shrimp scampi were bland but super salty; no flavor of lemon in the scampi. Small portions for the price($ 18 for the penne).

The mood is warm and comfortable. It’s a really great place for upscale or casual dining. I really like places like this that I feel at home in regardless of my attire. The service is in general is very attentive. My guest and I weren’t left wanting for anything. I think the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that the main waiter never came to check up on us after the dinner was served to see if we were satisfied. Not a huge deal since the support staff was very present, but given that he is the main recipient of the gratuity I expected a bit more attention. The food, by the way, was fantastic. The overall service was very good. I will surely be back.

This is an Italian American Grill that I believe has been in the area for about 30 years. We visited this restaurant recently for the first time for a Mother Day Brunch. They have a comfortable dining room seating with a one-step walk up bar to your right at the entrance of the restaurant. I believe they are known for their wood oven thin crust pizza, and homemade pastas. For brunch, I ordered the Salmon Poached Egg on a English muffin which was very good. I look forward to visit this restaurant again to try their pizza and pastas.

That moment when you just dont know to express how glad you are because you didn’t expect to have one of the most memorable dining experience! Best place, Petaluma for a best event! I was brought here by my boy friend to have some dinner. And he never fails to amazed me because cant imagine how very accommodating the staffs here. The facility’s also exceptional from the arrangements of everything to the most special food(mine was calamari Parm overbold pasta) they’re serving! If bring back here, I think I still be excited! :D

Had family in from Texas, Connecticut and Long Island and needed a place that would accommodate a group of 12 for early brunch. Made a reservation and could not have been happier. The service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their visit to NY and we actually were able to sit, relax, chat and eat with each other in a wonderful environment. I can’t wait to go back for dinner!

Went to Petaluma for my Boss’ birthday a couple days ago. I ordered the lunch special which comes with a salad and a whole of penne with your choice of sauce, I chose Alfredo. For desert I ordered a cappuccino and the chocolate molten cake and ice cream. Everything was delicious, I’d go back.

Great food and exquisite service. Started with a bottle of sauv blanc, it was a 2014 New Zealand Villa Maria which was terrific(and went well with the seafood ordered) and I highly recommend. Had a bruschetta with a drizzle of balsamic which was delicious and the octopus salad that was so delicious. My main was the shrimp scampi, I liked it, but I actually preferred the buttery spaghetti noodles my date had with his chicken francaise, the fettucine was a little too tender for my personal taste. He was happy with his chicken, it was just the right texture and flavor he said. Then topped it off with capuccinos which tasted like real coffee(unlike starbucks). The waiters were super friendly and were very nice all evening. The only snafu I experienced all night was that my shrimp scampi was a big portion so I could only eat half and wanted half to go. Right as we left the restaurant, I’d realized I never received my to-go bag from the waiter. I walked back inside and asked for my takeaway container. The waiter apologized profusely and said it was accidentally discarded, but he said if I waited a few minutes they’d remake me another half portion. True to his word, he did come back with a doggie bag. So the service here is quite good.

3.5 star, rounding up. Came here with a casual dinner with my girlfriend; we sat at a corner table for two at 8pm on a Saturday night; restaurant was relatively busy but not crazed. It’s a moderate sized restaurant, and service is ok. not too fast, not too slow. they were a bit slow about checking up on us after food was put out, though, and we had to wave a bit to get the check. Night was overall slow, which we didn’t mind but FYI. We had a glass of the Barbera, an Italian wine(eh ok), and the Sauv Blanc(I tried my gf’s– it was ok). We had for food — the gnocchi, which was well done, big, soft, doughy. It had a good, meaty beef ragu which was strong on tomato sauce, and lighter on the beef. Portion was good for $ 22. My friend had the carnivo(meat — sausage/pepperoni) pizza which was not earth shattering in my opinion but not bad either. I was medium crust, not too thin, not too thick. good amount of topping but overall was relatively average. Pasta was better in my opinion. It’s fine for all around Italian in this neighborhood, but not worth going out of your way. All the pastas looked great, and the pizzas good– they also have another Italian mains(chicken, fish etc) with the usual Italian sauce prep, if you’re trying to be healthier. $ 50 pp after tax/tip.

a decent spot in the upper east side. first off, asked for italian beer and waiter told me that they did not carry any italian beers, which was very disappointing(especially for an italian restaurant!!!). second, food was fair at best. appetizers were decent… calamari looked like something just fried out of a bag and caesar salad was decent. had chicken for the main meal and was definitely lacking in flavor… bland chicken breasts with meek salad. dessert somewhat made up for the 2 star… lemon cake was very good. overall…decent location for someone who can’t get reservations for one of the better spots in the area.

This was some of the best brick oven pizza on the Upper East Side. Crispy crust, great tasting sauce and the right amount of cheese. We will be back when the next pizza crave hits. The salad and pastas were pretty good too, but the pizza was the highlight. The service was very good and the space is large and comfortable. It’s a great neighborhood option.

Nice Place for a small group to wish a co-worker the best in their new job. Elegant and great service. Half price wines on a Wednesday night also can’t be beat. Started with the prosciutto and excellent mozzarella and fried calamari that unfortunately was more crispy batter than anything else. But the Bronzino cooked in the wood oven was wonderfully charred and the gelato with espresso very tasty but eat it quick before it melts. Not sure of the final bill as I was a guest but entrees seemed pretty well priced given the neighborhood and certainly a good list of choices to please anyone.

Wasn’t thrilled w the place on a couple of visits but decided to give it one more shot. But at a discount this time: I Went in mid December on a groupon. Called for reservation that evening and they said it could only be used with 24 hour notice. I Pointed out that constraint wasn’t on the groupon so they allowed us to use it after putting me on hold and checking w management. They punted out that the Reservation was for 3 but the groupon is for 2. I acknowledged We would pay ala carte for any items not covered. On hold again during More consultation. Then we were fortunately approved to bring a 3rd person. The Groupon included a bottle of wine. Two choices but out of the one of them so I went with their Malbec(on the menu for $ 46). They brought a different Malbec but did not mention the substitution. I researched it on wine searcher. It retails for $ 5 so maybe it’s $ 15 on a menu w markup. Started to feel a pattern so I added up the max value you could get by ordering highest value items allowed and even w the $ 46 bottle couldn’t get to the $ 147 value The bill credited me for $ 125 for the groupon vs a $ 147 value My Overall sense is that they want the traffic generated by groupon but don’t want to honor the spirit of the groupon offering so I pointed out to the manager these items and the fact that there were so many empty tables vs before it reopened this place was always packed Why cut corners like this when your trying to draw people in but have them leave feeling less than pleased? The bait and switch w the wine probably doesn’t get noticed but., really? Suspect they’d be Better off not offering groupons or. Welcome people and honor the deal. I’m a neighborhood guy and would love to live this place as we did the prior one just can’t get there.

I have endured slow service in the past, but this alone has never been the basis for not liking a restaurant, only a contributing factor. Good food and courteous service usually make up for slow service. Our experience at Petaluma was mixed. The service was slow, but courteous. The food was so-so. The shaved brussel sprout salad was very good as was the pizza. The pizza alone could be reason enough to go back if one orders judiciously. But you know, sometimes you are just not in the mood for pizza. That was the case last night. My spouse ordered the eggplant parmesan which she considered tough and therefore did not finish it. I ordered the chicken scarpiello which the menu described thusly: «organic chicken, sweet sausage with fennel, roasted potatoes, rosemary & lemon wine sauce.» Sounded pretty good. When it arrived it was a pile of brown chunks and it was difficult to determine which chunks were chicken and which were sausage. That is ok because I happen to like both. The problem was that the chicken was all cut up but the bones were left inside. The lighting was so dim that it was difficult to cut the chicken away from the bones and I ended up having to pull the bones(and bits of rosemary) from my mouth with my fingers. I kept this up for a few minutes but I eventually gave up. I hate leaving food, but neither the eggplant nor the chicken was worth taking home. I might give it another try, but not until 2018 at the earliest.

The manager Eric is a riot! He goes out of his way to accommodate everyone who comes through. I’ve been here a few times with my friends, and he always remembers us and does something to make our meal special. The hostesses at the door are super friendly. Last time we went it was Tori, and she is a doll. Marissa is always lovely too. Great service, great food, great vibes! Would give 6 stars if I could.

I came here for a date on Saturday night. We started with the white bean hummus which was actually really special. We weren’t expecting a whole lot but it had pine needles and seasoning and came with some toasted pita which was all really good. Then we shared a carnivoro pizza. On it was pepperoni, meatballs and sausage. The sausage was pretty spicy which we both liked. The pizza was evenly cooked. I could see the brick oven from my seat and the ingredients tasted very fresh. Excellent pizza. We also shared the pesto tortellini pasta which was also very tasty. Perfect al dente cook on the tortellini and a great tasting cheese filling which tasted great but did not make the dish overly dense or heavy. I will definitely return.

Had not stopped by this place in probably 10 years and am pretty pleased that I did! The restaurant has the same warm and cozy feel that it always has, which was particularly nice on this cold winter day. The warmth from the large pizza oven gives one side of the restaurant an even warmer feel which was excellent. Food wise, we got the crispy calamari as an appetizer that was a decent size to split as an app but I would definitely not recommend getting it as a personal appetizer! Came with a few pieces of fried zucchini which were a welcome addition. One of us got the veal parmesan which was a great portion size and came with a hefty serving of pasta and then the other got the eggplant parm which was an app but was HUGE. Would definitely recommend splitting this if you’re getting it as an appetizer or getting it as an entrée like we did! It’s really big! Other than that it was a quiet night in the city in general, so it wasn’t particularly crowded, but I’m not sure if this is how it always is here. We also arrived on the later side — around 9, so that may have been a factor! Looking forward to trying the udon carbonara which sounded amazing but too heavy for my appetite last night. Sounds like it’s worth coming back for!

Awesome calamari and my friend had a New England clam chowder before boarding a flight. Pinot Grigiot is delish and we were well taken care of. Tonight, for Christmas Eve they are having the traditional Feast or the Seven Fishes. Sounds like something I always wanted to try! I will also be returning for their various Happy Hour offerings. Nice, welcoming neighborhood restaurant. Upscale yet relaxed.

Petaluma is a great place for a date– dimly lit and romantic. The service was amazing here. The udon carbonara is so so good but so heavy. The cream and the cheese make it so difficult to finish! Our server actually jokingly challenged us to see if we could finish the dish, and at first I though, «psh, easy». But then halfway through, I started struggling. It’s delicious. But super heavy. Petaluma also has great brunch with bottomless drinks, and I will definitely be back to try that!

We hosted our brother’s pre-wedding dinner here and we could not have picked a better spot. Eric the event planner was so polite, super professional and accomodating prior and during the event and it made all the difference in the world. Amanda who waited on our party did a superb job coordinating and making sure all ran smoothly. The pre-fix menu for the larger group that we selected was really delicious. Plenty of food and really yummy. I highly recommend checking Petaluma out if you are looking to host a private party. They have a great back room with the perfect amount of privacy. Overall really lovely experience and happy to have choosen Petaluma for my brother’s and future sister in law’s special dinner.

That udon carbonara though. Thick noodles with thick sauce and a big portion. I’m into it. Service was great and the food was awesome. Poached egg on top of the creamy porky udon noodle deliciousness. My girlfriend got the ravioli and really liked it. Smaller portion though. I think the udon is the strong call here if you’re trying to get the most bang for your buck

Really cute restaurant! Food was great, portions were on the small side though. And if you want a bread basket you have to ask for it, they don’t just bring you one. Didn’t need a reservation on a Saturday night either! Will definitely be going back!

Cute italian restaurant in the Upper East Side. Try the bianco pizza — the confit garlic and cheese on this pizza are so divine! I ordered the eggplant ravioli for my entrée — the sauce was very creamy, but I’m not complaining. I also tried a bit of the udon cabonora… really liked the soft poached egg on top that has not been mixed into the pasta yet. Also, the cocktails won’t disappoint.

This review is for Brunch Only! We checked out Petaluma’s brunch menu online and we were intrigued. We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday morning. We had: Pancakes with blueberries — very good and fluffy Baked eggs with roasted tomatoes and parmesan cheese — very tasty Yogurt with fruit — tasty Egg white frittata — very good The service was good and the coffee was regularly refreshed. When we come back for dinner, I will update my review.

After walking by Petaluma for years on the Upper East Side, I finally decided to try it after it underwent a year of renovations. Something about the new menu and the promotions on the board outside drew me in and made me want to finally try this neighborhood spot. It was definitely catering to a younger clientele than it had previously. The $ 35 All You Can Drink brunch deal was too good to pass up. As soon as my friend and I sat down, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress. She advised us that the unlimited brunch not only included unlimited mimosa, bellinis, and bloody marys for two hours, but that they also had a limited supply of unlimited sangria as well. This was music to our ears! We both decided to start with the sangria to take advantage of it while it was in supply. The sangria was very refreshing and STRONG! After just one glass I felt it. This certainly didn’t keep me from ordering another round or two of this delicious drink! For brunch, my friend and I shared two entrees. There were so many amazing options on the menu that we couldn’t just commit to one. The Breakfast Pizza was a real winner! The crust was crunchy and baked to perfection in the restaurant’s pizza oven. The pie was covered in delicious mozzarella cheese with bacon, sausage, farm egg cream, and a touch of cheddar. Every bite was worth it. Nothing was left at the end! This pizza gave me a hint into how good dinner-time pizzas would be when I return! The Cast Iron Eggs Benedict was a really unique approach on eggs Benedict. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but knew that it came highly recommended from the waitress. I love when a waitress or waiter actually has an opinion on the menu and has tasted the food! The poached eggs sat atop a unique patty, which was called gnocchi alla Romana. It was similar to a polenta cake and was a great combination with the poached eggs. The hollandaise sauce was baked right into the egg, which made the egg extremely flavorful and moist, but not as messy as a normal eggs benedict. We opted to add bacon to this dish, and it was a great choice because it added that savory meaty flavor that every egg dish needs! MMMM!!! Since I dined here for brunch, I haven’t stopped raving to everyone about it. I have wanted to return for brunch for some time, but have been way to busy :(I did go for happy hour one night, and it was chill and relaxing at the bar, with great cocktails and small bites! Definitely not a place to be missed!

Great meal! The service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. Nonnas meatballs were fantastic. They are an old family recipe of the chef whose grandmother used to make them for him. Went with a bunch of friends and they all agree that this was the best meal they have had in a while. We had a set menu but the waitress was nice and willing to make some changes to make us happy! We then had lamb chops and they were not gamey. Some of us had the halibut in the picture I’ve posted and it was incredibly fresh and accented really nicely with asparagus and oranges! The wine pairing was good but they were not very attentive with asking if we need more to drink. Desert was the icing on the cake that was really good as well. The location is nice and the ambiance is really inviting. It is conveniently located.

I think this might be my new fav boozy brunch spot on the UES! $ 35 for 2 hours of bloody marys, mimosas, bellinis plus an item off the brunch menu! The menu was pretty extensive too, and had enough variety to please almost anyone. I ordered a pizza which was amazing and a HUGE portion. I took half of it home for dinner, so I got 2 meals out of it. My friend got the blueberry pancakes and loved them too! The waitress was super friendly and was not stingy with the brunch drinks! I started with a bloody mary which was amazing, one of the best I’ve had! I followed the bloody with about 5 bellinis which were also very good. I’ll most definitely be back for brunch! In fact, I might go this weekend — can’t wait!

Got a Guilt City deal to came here, the voucher value totally worth it. But as everyone wrote, the portion is a bit small. For two people, we ordered Brussels Salad, Funghi & Pepi pizza and Atlantic Salmon for two people to share, they are delicious. However, looking at the actual price of the dish, I am not sure if I would come back without the Guilt City deal. The service and atmosphere are fine, nothing stood out particular but nothing to complain either.

E-Scale: 6.5÷10 I first went to Petaluma when it first opened. After 6 months I went back again to see if they got their kinks worked out. The service has not changed. Very slow!!! No refills on my boyfriends water the entire time we were there. We did not get our drinks for 20 minutes and they were the first things we ordered. I ordered a classic cosmo and it had way too much cranberry juice. Tasted like a jolly rancher. The bartender was nice enough to remake it for me to my liking, but I had to give him a lot of instruction. My bf did enjoy his old fashioned though and he is a bartender. The food was probably the redeeming quality of this place. The shrimp scampi was amazing, the monk fish was excellent. And the risotto was well cooked. The second round of drinks also took a while to come out(15 minutes for a glass of wine?!) They have added really great happy hour perks such as dollar oysters and happy hour drinks. If you go, I suggest sitting at the bar where it is easier to get 1 on 1 attention for service.

I came here last night for dinner and left disappointed. The staff was very friendly but I’m not a fan of telling me how much everything is on the menu when explaining dishes. I can see the prices clearly on the menu. Felt like I was at café. The size portions are quite small for what your charged so I left still a little hungry. The food was good but for the portion it’s overpriced so that made me just want to leave I wouldn’t come back since the portions are too small and overpriced when there’s other restaurants who give and charge fairly.
