An incomparable plain cheese pie. At any other pizzeria, all that makes the pizza tasty are the mounds of toppings, but at Patsy’s the simple, elegant plain cheese is good enough. Unadulterated, pure and simple.

For quite some time it really irked the ever-lovin heckfire out of me that I had yet to get to Patsy’s. I, a former native New Yorker. I, an obsessive connoisseur of pizza. I go to an extent… to an extent that involves the hoarding copious lists, to an extent that involves bookmarking uppa storm just hundreds of pizzerias… to an extent that involves my mind imagining a map of this fair country less as topography, highways and state lines, and more so as a collection of pizza territories; pizza regions pinpointed with many locales where pizzas of merit warrant mad amounts of detours and/or pilgrimages… I care about pizza. You see what I’m saying. I’m one of these people who behaves as though wanting to eat all the best pizza is a strength and a skill. And it is, obviously. Not rare, but real. We all chase the, «pizza like when I was a kid,» dragon. Annnywhooo, Patsy’s has been on my to-try list. I’ve been wanting to try Patsy’s for A.While. And I did at last! It felt like a tasty accomplishment. A pal’s baby shower was taking place just around the corner from the historic coal-oven pizza spot, and so I managed to arrive early(anywhere, such a feat), for once, in order to grab up some slices. Pizza priorities. «I do believe that neighborhood slices in my day were 75cents,» the fogey pipes in, for no apparent reason. I am the fogey, friends. I am the fogey. What am I telling you here? I’ve been around a long time. But not as long as Patty’s of East Harlem has been on the scene. I love and do so enjoy an institution of a pizza place, I reiterate to to yous. Classic, classic. The original Patsy’s of East Harlem has been at it since 1933. By the by, in the scheme o’ things people, a $ 12 pie(or $ 1.75 slices) feels like a great deally. Especially for good ones, in this day n age. Split a pie like a pal. Or get two. Who would ever regret having extra pizza for later? Not me. Not that there’s ever leftovers wit this one. Slices! They’re some tasty, thin, lil crispy-meets-tender, touch o’ coal, char-crusted babies, I say. Their’s a blistery char; as in nicely smokey, not burnt. Patsy’s uses a nice, bright, slightly sweet tomato sauce, too. Maybe I’d like a touch more sauce. More of that, Pat. No complaining here though! Twas a satisfying sauce n cheese ratio spiked with my sprinklins of hot pepper flakes a garlic powder. I assure you, that plain pie here hit the spot. If you find yourself up thisaways, try some classic Patsy’s pizza. This will require cash, I should remind you. Patsy’s, I check you offa my list, and would too return ahhh-gain!

I’ve eaten here for as long as I can remember and I used to love it so much. It’s a vicious cycle; I’ll go, get not so great service and my food after an unreasonable wait, get so angry I vow never to return, but I get sucked in by happy memories. I just brought someone who was visiting town and I am so annoyed that I wasted a night bringing him here after promising a NY experience. I think it’s official, I’m done. See ya, Patsy’s.

I hate to spread the word, since we don’t ever have to wait here, but I feel like the world should know that Patsy’s is a great place for a fresh, delicious, reasonably priced meal. We go at least once every time we’re in town.

One of my favorite pizza places in NYC. Went on a pizza tour so I could try a bunch of places all in one day so I could really compare and this place was either number one or tied for first. Pizza comes out in record time because the oven is really friggin HOT. Although that steaming hot pizza looks scrumptious do not eat it right away I repeat do not. The sauce will burn your mouth for dayz. Let it sit for a couple mins then enjoy. Sauce, dough, cheese is a match made in heaven and has great flavor with every bite. Add some toppings if you do so desire, but a plain pie will satisfy you for sure.

We had half original half Margherita pizza. Original is definitely the way to go. Blake Lively is famously quoted for wanting to be cremated in the ovens here. I wouldn’t go THAT far but I can see where she was coming from. You know that moment when you bite into a slice of pizza and you cry for joy because it’s so delicious? Yes, that moment. If you haven’t had this moment yet, take a trip to East Harlem to the original Patsy’s. Like the other reviewers said, it’s cash only. If you’re driving, it’s relatively easier to find parking near here than other parts of Manhattan. Enjoy!!!

Food is awesome and I give the food 4 stars. Today we had the calamari, my mom had the eggplant parm hero, I had the shrimp and crab pasta with marscapone, sun dried tomatoes and spinach and my dad had the lasagna.(He didn’t think the lasagna was great, very underwhelming). This is my second time here because the pasta I had on the first trip was amazing. The one thing that would prevent me from returning is the staff. That’s what brought the review to 3 stars. Everyone’s attitude needed an adjustment. No one appeared to want to be there and it showed in their service. The service needs to be improved tremendously. I didn’t feel a true sense of desired customer satisfaction on either occasion. The staff attitude was more like the customers are doing them a favor coming in. This should be addressed and improved immediately.

How could anyone want to live anywhere other than NYC when you can get pizza like Patsy’s? It’s a great pizza place, and if you want New York pizza you can’t ask for better than Patsy’s. When I asked the server for pizza recommendations, he gave me some advice that I thought was solid: don’t have more than 2 toppings on your pizza, whether you’re ordering toppings on the original, or one of the specialty pizzas. The secret(/beauty) of New York pizza is not the sauce, it is the crust– that glorious thin, soft, chewy yet crispy crust. It’s hard for the crust to do its job when it’s loaded down with too many toppings. So order whatever toppings you want, but stick with 2. We loved this place, will be back soon.

What are you doing this weekend? A little Costco, Target, oh and Patsy’s! If you head over to the shopping center make sure you make a pit stop at Patsy’s pizzeria! Best thin crust pizza in NYC and they don’t charge you an arm and a leg. My only complaint– they don’t deliver! But I get it, you have to eat right out of the oven.

Baby! Let me just say — we were so well taken care of. Our waiter was such a delight to have! Very sweet! I forgot his name but he’s short, charming & has a pony tail! ^_^ lol. So if you ever get him as your waiter, you’re in GREAT hands. I’m familiar with Patsy’s because the mall I used to work at had one! I love their pizza! Mouthgasm at its finest ;) We stumbled across an actual restaurant because we wanted to eat before we went to our event!(Made no sense to go on an empty stomach considering there would be alcohol #IveLearnedMyLessonAndISpeakFromExperience) At a glance, Patsy’s is a warm intimate little restaurant in Spanish Harlem that serves authentic Italian food :) framed Photographs of celebrities greeted us as we walked in. We were seated quicker than we could blink our eyes. Staff was very warm. I got lasagna while my sis got chicken parm! We barely waited for our plates to arrive. That’s how QUICK it was. The food was so delicious and flavorful. I even finished the table bread! I wasn’t surprised but I WAS at the same time at how marvelous my dinner was. Everything was on point! Can’t wait to come back and try desert :)

The Pizza’s here are amazing!!! 5 Stars, if I can have a 6th star it will be filled. And 2 Thumbs up, again if I had more thumbs they will be up too. In the past I had many pizza’s from L&B Spumoni Garden to Totonno’s and Lombardi’s. By far this one is the best and beats them all. That New York Style thin thin crust pizza is amazing. Having the pizza being cooked in one of the coal fire oven(that is now banned in NYC except the only establishments who had coal fire oven before can have them which is only a have full in NYC have survived) makes the ingredients of the Pizza keep all its flavors and not having it become dried out. When those flavors hit your taste buds«oh I was seeing stars» I found this place on multiple tv shows and people who call themselves pizza experts. I will definitely be coming here again! Hint: If you do come here don’t forget your stretchy pants.

Established in 1933, it stands as one of the oldest pizzerias in NY. The décor does look it’s age but it also adds to the charm, the décor has an old school Italian mob kind of feel. Also, there is really only one Patsy’s, the other locations with the same name are franchised out. The music that they play is pretty fitting of the age but it is also really awesome classic stuff, I thought the music was great. The food: Margherita– fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil. Half plain and half with pepperoni and black olives. I thought the pie had good flavor and I really loved the freshness of all the ingredients and the nice pop from the marinara. There was a really good amount of basil and the sauce had a nice sweetness that complemented the pie. There was also a nice smokey flavor throughout the pie that came from the oven. The crust was wonderfully light and airy, the only two issues I had was the dough was too soft for my liking since I enjoy a crunchy bottom and I guess there is no way to control this but there were some burnt spots on the pie. The pepperoni and olives were really good toppings, the pepperoni was cut really thin but the flavor was great. The olives are standard black olives but they go really well with the pepperoni. Original Coal Oven Pizza– thin crust, grated mozzarella, tomato sauce. After dinner, I walked over to the pizza counter next door and wanted to do an official comparison between the original and Margherita and I think the Margherita hands down. The original kinda taste like a basic slice, it’s good but not really exciting. I would say go Margherita all the way. Zucchini Fritti– Fried Zucchini, marinara. I normally love fried zucchini but the one here was kinda plain and was lacking flavor, the marinara was great but could only do so much to save that lifeless fried zucchini. Torta Di Ricotta– Italian Cheesecake. I enjoyed the cheesecake, it had nice texture and was on the light side, the crust was kinda interesting since it resembled pound cake. Overall, it was a pretty good dessert.

Go simple — regular pie. $ 11. A steal so maybe you can get two pies. I love the thin crust though it maybe easier to eat with fork and knife when it just comes out. So good.

Ok… So I get that I’m not Italian and I definitely get that Dominicans know diddly squat about pizza. But this much I know… I like my pizza(and quite frankly, should be made simply), with very little cheese and simple tomato sauce– JUST tomato. I don’t want tomato sauce with any oregano and/or seasonings in my pizza. I think I qualify to have an opinion. And Patsy’s Pizzeria is my ticket to pizza delight. Pizza is definitely so-o-o droopy that for that first triangle-point bite you need to hold it with your other hand-to prevent it from drooping ½ way — you know exactly what I’m talking about. Pizza here is… I’m stuck for words… Is deliciosa. It has the perfect ratio of sauce and cheese– damnnnnn– it’s good. Other famous pizza restaurants rave exactly about that– their pizza and how delicious it is. But you know what? With their ultra thin slices, delicate tomato sauce & burnt bottom, Patsy’s has it going on. Just go and experience it yourself. You won’t be disappointed if extra thin(on a slice) is what you like.

I had always wanted to visit the original Patsy’s. The few things that I’m mindful of on this Earth is my love for coal-fired pizza. However I’ve had my fair share of good and bad. This explain why I feel they more than well deserve 4.5÷5.0 If you’re a fan of pizza and in particular, New York pizzerias, and more granularly, coal-fired, it stands to reason that Patsy’s is on your checklist. If it’s not, it’s time to re-think what top pizza lists you think you’re curating from.(I’m putting Thrillist on blast, here) Perhaps the most quintessential of them all, this 82 year old establishment(opened 1933) is as old as they get, being a late night haunt of many celebrities through the decades with a rich history and deep tradition of giving back(to the community), something people who visit in passing never know about. Times have changed, of course, as has Spanish-Harlem, but Patsy’s has endured, just as their reliable pies that keep slinging from the ovens. I came here with some friends on the rare night that we were in this neck of the woods. We ordered Margherita pizzas and within a good amount of time, out came our pie. Flavorful, and charred aroma in every bite, it was every bit as good as I imagined it, for classic coal-fired pizza. We’d also ordered calamari and it was sufficient albeit not noteworthy. The real star, is of course, the pizza. After devouring our pie, we immediately ordered a regular pie, as Margherita pies take time. Within mere minutes, a regular pie came to our table(they obviously make quite a few during the evening). It too was piping hot, and fired through the same ovens as our first did. We had really timely service, direct, and to the point, which I appreciate, and they know to give some spacing while keeping tabs on all the tables they’re serving, which is really admirable. The only downside is location because if I lived any closer, I’d come here every day just for their regular pies, which in today’s world are still a good value. 4.5÷5.0

OMGYES. I truly enjoy two types of pizza. Neapolitan and NEWYORK. This is one of NYC’s OG pizzerias established in 1933 and it’s heaven. My BFF and I stopped by one evening when we just wanted to take dinner home. There are two sections of the restaurant, sit-down on the left and walk-up to the right. The walk-up section is small and simple. You come in, you order, and you wait for your pizza. Service is very quick. Obviously, this pizza is amazing when it’s hot and fresh, so stuff it in your mouth ASAP! Slice(Cheese only): $ 1.75 Whole Pie: $ 11 Toppings: $ 3 — $ 5.50 **CASHONLY!** We ordered a whole pie with sausage and fresh basil($ 17) and I got a couple slices of cheese. The pizza is so good. SO, SOGOOD! The flavor is coal-oven perfection and I love the crust. This is one of the few pizzas that I think is amazing plain. No toppings necessary. It’s that good. It’s amazing. You need this pizza. There’s nothing else to say.

3.5 stars. This business has been open for over 50 years, and this specific location is where it all began. My friend said she loves the old 60s look of the place because it gives it character and I agree, but a few touch ups here and there wouldn’t hurt(the Patsy’s sign on the window is so old, it has a buzzing noise). I can’t believe I grew up in this neighborhood, but never bothered to dine here. I’ve had Patsy’s pizza a million times and it’s actually the best pizza EVER, but I recently decided to come here on a double date to see what else the restaurant has up its sleeves. I ordered a seafood pasta and I have to say it was tasty, but it didn’t blow me away. Tried my friends penne a la vodka, good but not great. The fried calamari appetizer was honestly the best part of the meal. I may have to come back to check out a few more dishes on the menu, but I’m still(ALWAYS) in it for the pizza
