What a loss that this standby has departed. There was never a better commuting pub and the staff/management were just phenomenal. Everyone enjoyed working there, it showed, and carried over to us, the clientele. I just hope another incarnation emerges soon.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I recently found out that my favorite pub Conway’s has been bought out(along with the rest of the block) to be torn down and replaced with an office tower. Heartbreaking! That all bring said, I couldn’t avoid reviewing Patrick Conway’s any longer. I want to thank Johnny, Ian, and Gary for being such wonderful, fun, and professional bartenders over all of the years. You gents have made Conway’s my go to place after work for all of my celebrations, all of the«god, I need a drink» moments, and everything in between. Thank you, thank you, THANKYOU for being my home away from home and such a grounding point for all of those nights when my friends and I needed some time after work to just enjoy a drink and to slow down and enjoy life for a moment. I cannot think of one particular happy memory to share because every time I have been to Conway’s a new happy memory is made. So thanks for all the pints, Manhattans, shots of Jameson’s(too many to count and so many times we’ve come close to drinking you out of stock HAHA!), Makers Mark neat, Tito’s and soda with a splash of grapefruit juice, and the always generous and appreciated buy backs. Love you, gents! Cheers!!!

Patrick Conway’s is an average NYC restaurant. The service is only okay. Food is good but not outstanding; the Fish and Chips were quite good, and my wife enjoyed the Shepard’s Pie. We have had better, but we’ve had much worse, also. The thing that makes Patrick Conway’s recommendable is that it’s a comfortable and quieter place to get away from the crowds in Grand Central Station, if you need a pint or a bite.

Went to this place on St. Patrick’s Day and they charged me $ 10 for a pint of Bass. Normally, it is $ 8.50. There must be a law against this. I will contact the SLA and make a complaint. What a RIPOFF.

Very standard Irish pub in Midtown. Serves the work crowd with very standard food. Not a bad place but nothing really special. Bar tenders were incredibly nice

Came here for a business lunch with a small group of colleagues. The ambiance is pleasant, service was quick and attentive(5 stars), but the food was quite average(3 stars). Not a place I would frequent.

I’ve been going to Conway’s for years(though I don’t go there that frequently) and I’ve always liked them. But my experience there yesterday confirms that if anything, they’ve gotten even better over time — which is unusual to say the least! I was under a tight deadline yesterday so I had to eat lunch and bolt in basically a half hour. I told the manager(at least I assume he was the manager) this when I first walked in and he made sure that I was out of there in time — even though the place was fairly busy. The waitress was also helpful and friendly. As for the menu, I would say this is pretty much standard pub fare but taken up a notch. The blackjack burger is a favourite among my friends but that’s really the tip of the iceberg. Yesterday I tried the lobster wrap for the first time and that was impressive too. I can also vouch for the hot open turkey and the Shepherd’s Pie. In general, this is very good food and you’re not going to leave here hungry! Another thing this place has going for it is location. It’s right near Grand Central and is easily accessible from the East or West sides. And on a winter night, it’s a great place to stop for a warm drink or a hearty dinner. Really, the only drawback about Conway’s is that it’s a bit pricey. But that’s a minor complaint when the food and service are as good as they are here. Highly recommended.

A bit pricey, but I guess not too much for Midtown. I enjoyed my lunch there very much – food was excellent for a bar. Irish pubs are a dime a dozen in New York so finding one that actually has good food and a genuine atmosphere is harder. This place is great.

I’ve never eaten a worst turkey club sandwich. I will never come again. It was flavorless and plastic-like. My husband had a lamb burger and it was just ok… not a big deal.

For a place that was practically empty the service was terribly slow. The soup and salad we ordered before the meal took 10 minutes to arrive. The Caesar dressing seemed like a blob of mayonnaise but the vinaigrette was not much better tasting more like vinegar than anything. Our waitress was sitting at the bar texting while we sat and waited to be checked on and for our check to come. One thing worth coming here for though is the Shephard’s Pie! It tastes amazing, and is a great comfort food. It also will not leave you feeling super full.

Very clean bar, nice tab selection. Chicken wings are the best. It’s very close to Grand Central and you can check the train schedule. Really good for hanging out and waiting for your train. No hooks underneath the bar, but they have comfortable bar chairs. I usually stop there every time I take the train with my husband.

Really solid pub for drinks and basic bar fare. Pros: — Staff is always professional and efficient, especially Ian the bartender. — Remarkably consistent food if you’re looking for the basics. I usually just get a burger, but it is always cooked correctly and comes out hot and juicy. — I’m not a commuter, but I imagine the screen with the real-time Metro-North schedule is helpful for those who are. Cons: — The TVs don’t have a great quality picture and are not positioned in a way where it is easy to watch a game. I know it isn’t a sports bar but this could still be improved. Overall, I definitely recommend it for a few drinks or lunch when you’re kicking around Grand Central.

I was going to go to a place for drinks with a friend near Grand Central. I asked him about what his experience at Patrick Conway was like, whether we should go there, and if I should give them another shot. Let’s just say he led me to Campbell Apartment instead even if it is a bit pricier.

Great pub in midtown to run into for a quick drink or lunch. Bar area gets pretty crowded but service and bartenders are fast. Food comes out in timely fashion so they’re used to the quick-lunch crews that fly in and out. Dark wood /Irish pub feel to the place … French Onion Soup seems to be a popular item!

PC’s proximity to Grand Central is about the only redeeming part of the restaurant. Stop here if you are starving or thirsty for a drink when you stop off Grand Central, but don’t care for the quality of food. My caesar salad – although it was huge and worth the $ 8 – had so much dressing that my stress level shuttlecocked through the glass ceiling like taking the SAT for the 8th time. Calm down, PC’s! Easy on the dressing, and beef up the cherry tomato input. I didn’t think you could ruin a turkey club, but apparently it’s possible! No mayo, no mustard, no nothing. Three slices of bread like a triple decker bus. The turkey as dry as jerky. Ewe! The steak fries were good though. Just wish we didn’t have to ask the table next to us to borrow the ketchup. Despite the relative calmness of the restaurant – we were one of six tables – our server barely acknowledged us. She wasn’t rude, but she was preoccupied with everyone else, and took almost ten minutes to return our checkbook. I’m not about to give up on Patrick Conway’s too soon, but there wasn’t a reason to mess up a simple turkey club or to move as slow as molasses. I’ll vouch for its strong gin and tonic, but that’s about it for this review.

We came here on a week day after the last exam before graduation. Everyone just wanted to relax, talk, and eat some decent food. The location is so convient because it is right by grand central. I ordered a seafood dish, which was a good portion and tasted good! This happened because I got a little bit drunk so you can trust me on this one! Haha I gave a four star because the The bar tender did not know how to make a clover shape on top of the Guinness. To one of the friends, it meant a lot and good luck, so we were a little disappointed.

Good After Work Spot — Every kind of Carvery item you could want with a good bar and reasonably priced. The staff is supper friendly especially if you go with someone who is a regular — All in All — i had a pretty good meal there — would certainly go back again!

I’ve been here a couple of times in the past with no problems. My(guy) friends and I wanted to have a few cocktails before the Madonna concert and before we can even find a place to stand at the bar, a woman who works there says«OHHH… you can’t be in here without sleeves», her way of telling us to leave the bar. WHATKINDOFNONSENSEISTHAT?!? The last time I checked this was a pub. Would they turn away a women who was wearing a tank top, I think NOT. Save your money! They’ll never get my business again.

a solid Irish pub near Grand Central Terminal. nothing exciting, but certainly not a bad spot. 4 of us all ended up ordering the blackjack burger, which is just a burger with jack cheese, red onion, and Worcestershire sauce. not outstanding, but it certainly hit the spot, and the steak fries were great. oh, and they didn’t give me a blank, zombie-like stare when I asked for malt vinegar! the spicy mayo this burger comes with is also a nice touch. tab came to $ 120 for four burgers and eight beers. not too bad, kind of expected that for a place in this part of the city. service was quick and spot-on. not a place I’d go out of my way to hit up, but if in the area, it’s reliable.

We stopped in for a midweek lunch, not knowing if this was a gastropub or dive. It turns out to be a big, somewhat fancy place, with white tablecloths and a pretty big menu that certainly doesn’t stick to Irish faves(one special today was chicken enchiladas). The food was decent and portions were huge, but nothing too exciting. Most patrons seemed to be office workers — men in suits. But the scene might change after dark. One cool thing is they pipe in the live train schedules from Grand Central, so you know if you have time for a quickie. Drink, that is.
