My apple muffin(and other baked goods) nightmare is over. After Soutine closed, as all UWSiders know, we were bereft. Finally, I made it to Jessica’s(one of the great bakers at Soutine) new shop. Nice as always; she said that she offers free delivery to all ex-Soutine customers. Thanks Jessica and thanks for carrying on Soutine’s great tradition of a local neighborhood baker with no glitz, no glamor, no hype but just wonderful baked goods made with the most important ingredient — TLC — an ingredient completely missing from the Magnolias and Crumbs of the world.

I wanted to love this place. But«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» about sums it up. My review is the result of two orders with them. The first, after couple times of stopping by to ask if they had vegan cupcakes,(each time I was informed that normally yes, today no, so please come back) I thought I’d lucked out when they said, yep– we have them! The cupcake may very well have been vegan, but I’m certain that the frosting was not(both tastebud and allergic reaction wise). They’d asked me whether I wanted chocolate or vanilla, and to be fair, I didn’t confirm that those were vegan. But I think based on the circumstances, that was a pretty safe assumption on my part. At the least, they should have mentioned their icing options weren’t vegan. The second time, they got some points, because my friend requested a birthday cake from them last minute. They didn’t have a ton of selection, but I didn’t fault them for that, especially since they were able to deliver it to me within the hour. Unfortunately, it was just all around not good. $ 35 for a 7″ round cake is more than you pay per slice at many bakeries, and it was just not good. The cake itself was super, super sweet. And my friends complained that the buttercream was far too buttery and slick and left their tongues with a thick coating/aftertaste. The cake ended up uneaten. So, a star or two for service and trying to have vegan options. Minuses for incorrect information, and just well, not very good desserts.

What the what? 5 stars? YES, 5! Ordered on a Friday night from Seamless right before they closed. The cupcakes were delivered. They forgot one… I called them and 20 min later… the owners/managers had 6 gorgeous cupcakes delivered to me. They were beautiful and delicious and nicely packaged. Way to go One Cup Two! We will be ordering again!

Ordered a stale cookie banana pudding from a dry cashier at a bland shop in a dreary location. One star because I can’t give 0.

This, is an Artisan Bakery — So customers needing cheap and fast, should stick to Dunkin Dognuts or some other hum-drum denizen of dreck. At «One Cup…» in addition to the delightful cupcakes(not my choice of sweetmeat) there are a wide variety of other delectabel treats to tempt your palate. We enjoyed delicious cranberry pies! And the chocolate special order birthday cake was magnificent! Respect is a two way street, and we found plenty of cheerful generosity across the counter display of confections. We’ll be back…

Dear One Cup Two Cupcakes, I tried to buy cupcakes from you — I really did. Your website said that you close at 5 p.m. on Sundays. So I got there with 20 minutes to spare only to find that you were closed. Even worse, the sign on your door said that you were open on Sunday until 5 p.m. What’s up with that? If you changed your hours, at least amend your website and change the sign on your door. Given that you are not all that close to a subway station and it’s an uphill walk on 106th Street, let’s just say that we weren’t happy campers. Next time we’re in town, sad to say, I don’t think we’ll make the effort to return to your shop.

On a whim, I decided to check out the place. I remember hearing about via groupon, so I downloaded a $ 3 for $ 6 groupon now voucher– I had no problems redeeming it. I got two cupcakes, a vanilla dulce de leche and a red velvet cupcake. The dulce de leche frosting tasted good, but I didn’t care for the frosting on the red velvet. Both were quite sweet, so I chucked it off. The vanilla cupcake was dry on the inside, but the red velvet was very good. The flavor was nice and it was moist compared to the vanilla. I’d definitely recommend the red velvet sans frosting. I also got a fruit tart with strawberries. This was my favorite out of all the items. Ripe fresh fruit on top, good pastry, and a nice light custard. I would go back for this alone. I’d give 4 stars for the tart alone!

Instead of apologizing for their egregious and unprofessional behavior, the owner of One Cup Two Cupcakes opted to exhibit more inane and juvenile behavior by telling me to «Get a life»(as evidenced below). Apparently, the owner has no remorse for treating customers horribly, so anyone considering patronizing this establishment should run in the opposite direction: Onecuptwocupcakes F. Bad service, bad cupcakes, bad location… I order 2 dozen cup cake for my son birthday with grupon, my husband went to pick them up the day of the party when I opened the box I found only 21 cupcake different shape and different sizes. When I called them and told them the I recive only 21 instead of 24 cupcakes Jessica the lady who manage the place told me ok come I’ll give you 3 more… and when I told her why the cupcake in different shape and different size? she reply we are a small bakery we are not crumbs. I usually bake and I know that is possible to make them nice and round. But the worst part that they didn’t tests good. And non of the adult friend like them ether!! bottom line, don’t go there!!!

Some people Are just so mean and greedy… I honestly love their cupcakes. As for the people with the groupon I also had a groupon voucher and as you know there are conditions … It says you must give then a 48hr notice /reserve. Anyways! The woman at the shop is simply amazing! She welcomed me and respected me. I came all the from Brooklyn for my cupcakes !((really long ride 2 hrs cuz of traffic)) The cupcakes Were lovely and tasted delightful! This will be my cupcake shop for any occasion! I love it! i would highly recommend!

you mean like two girls, one cup? this is what a bakery is named after? orly? anyways…the berry tart was pretty good. the blueberies & strawberries were very fresh and the tart itself was as buttery and light as a tart should be. the custard was creamy & nice too. fyi – the guy behind the counter(Moses) felt it necessary to tell me that he hates groupon/groupon customers. I didnt purchase the deal but I mentioned that I saw them featured there recently. I get the feeling that it sux to be you if you bought a voucher for 1c2c because they hate you in advance. Cute place, cute guy but really needs to learn to contain himself when speaking negatively of customers who pay MONEY for a deal that his employer offers. Its just not a good look. 8÷14÷12 addendum: …and cut it out with the fake reviews & hostile messages, Shay D. yeah, I see you boo. I gave you three stars. Now fall back.

What is so, so special about these dried up cupcakes? Camel dung with butter cream icing probably taste better than these super dried cupcakes. I also used a coupon from Groupon and got 2 dozen cupcakes, but you had to get a dozen of the same flavor. If this was printed in the coupon I like to know where! Anyway, the cupcakes I got came in various sizes and they really looked like rejects not suitable to sell to customers. If you go to Sugar Sweet Sunshine or Magnolia you’ll notice the cupcakes are very consistent in their sizes and looked very professionally done, but the cupcakes I got from this place looked like the work of a novice home baker. You think you would get the same looking ones as in their store display, but no, you get the rejected looking ones. I recommend you skip this place all together and head on to Sugar Sweet Sunshine, better attitudes and better cupcakes! FYI: for those of you using the coupon, call and reserve the cupcakes and one flavor per dozen and don’t forget they charge you taxes when you put up your order.

I only gave this bakery 1 star because it was impossible to go lower in ratings. Groupon buyers beware: One:You must reserve your cupcakes in advance. I rode up to this place half and hour on the train only to be told that cupcakes had be reserved, thou gh no notation was on the Groupon. The owner showed up the Groupon that said reservations were required. reservations for what??? It’s not table seating. We wanted 2 dozen and she had plenty and didn’t want to sell it to us. I think if One Two wanted to tell buyers that they needed to place an order in advance, they should state that clearly on the Groupon. So it was a one hour wasted trip for me and my sister. The owner was defensive and combative, explaining how many Groupons she had sold and she didn’t want to be depleted when people walked in to buy two dozen. Yet when we walked in and before we told her we had a Groupon, we asked about flavors and she said more were coming out. Two: You can’t get various flavors. It must be a dozen of one flavor. What nonsense was this and why wasn’t it on the Groupon. if I didn’t have a Groupon I would have walked out. So the bakery will retail different flavors but won’t let you have them! Three: they charge you tax for cupcakes and nowhere is that hidden charge disclosed anywhere. The woman even tried to tell my sister when we «reserved» our cupcakes and came back the next day that the tax on two dozen cupcakes was $ 12.20 and only backed down and changed it to $ 2.20 when my sister questioned the charge. What a bunch of rip off artists. Now about the cupcakes themselves. I had bought them for my other sister’s birthday and it tells me alot that she only took two out of two dozen and gave one of her two away. I tried the lemon and vanilla with chocolate frosting. The cake was dense, though moist. The small swirls of frosting on the lemon was okay. The vanilla one with chocolate frosting was mediocre, almost like a deli cupcake. My mom said it was so dry she was choking on it. I actually tried another one after my mom and sister said it was dessicated and it was as dry as my mom said. Unevenly cooked and hard cupcakes. Maybe we were given the ones they couldn’t sell the day before. I’ve never had to think hard to give away cupcakes before. The cupcakes themselves were irregular and odd sized. One was sized larger than the rest. My sister also noticed that the lemon cupcakes they had in the display counter were decorated. Ours were not. Guess that what happens when you don’t pay full price. The place itself is small and cramped. The service sucked big time. All in all, nothing special or even good. Don’t bother with One Two. There are much better cupcake places around. Try Make My Cake or Sugar Sweet Sunshine, my fave. Now they have cupcakes you can enjoy.

It’s not a good thing that this bakery opened up around the corner. From the bakers at Soutine Bakery, this spot really knows its stuff. I recommend the red velvet cupcakes — not too sweet — and this chocolate bomb of a pastry, which includes mousse on top. Yum! I’m not wild about the cookies, but they are a more nutritious option, I am sure.
