Service was good. Nothing more and nothing less. The other reviews are spot on in that the receptionist LOVES to throw shade. You’re definitely not getting greeted with a smile or a humorous weather conversation. The doctors are much more personable but it doesn’t stop them from charging you top dollar for their services. I tried playing cool when I heard the final quote on my frames but slightly shit myself.
Save your money and go to one of the numerous eye doctors in the area for your frames.

I have been to this place several times before.
I should say that the doctor is friendly and the overall experience is not bad.
However, since all people there are partners, even the receoptionist sometimes could be rude.
They tried to hide you the key information so that they can earn more, e.g. the health insurance. Thay also won’t notify you to keep the reciept to get allowance from your insurance co. unless you ask them.

I walked into the store a month ago to take a look at a pair of the Theo Blue Titanium Glasses outside of the store display. I walked into Occhiali had such a wonderful experience with the Ira who is the owner and I was inquiring asking about the Blue Glasses. Ira gave me background about the brand and their design aesthetic. His knowledge is very impressive and really understands his clients very well.
I came back a month later and had a thorough eye exam and purchased my Theo Glasses. Their optometrist is also very helpful regarding questions that I have had regarding my previous to current prescription. Ira and Susan are wonderful people and are very knowledgeable about their brands and glasses.
I felt the 5 star experience in customer service and care which is very rare for any optical boutique. Everyone in Occhiali is very nice and informative. Their store is so beautiful and immaculate. The merchandising of the brands are allocated nicely throughout the store.
A really nice pair of glasses are a long term investment. I love them so much!!! =) This is a place I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for unique pair of glasses that makes a presence. Thank you for everything Ira and Susan for your patience, attention and answering all my questions. Anyone looking for glasses you will enjoy their selection and the best in customer service!

This place is, by far, the best optician in NYC!!! There are no employees,
only owners, which makes a world of difference. Top notch service and
huge selection of glasses to choose from, They are all in drawers, but the
time they take to find the right fit for you is outstanding, i tried on several
frames, and ended up with a great pair of glasses that is stylish and really
fits my face perfectly. So, for anyone who has had negative experiences in the
past, check this place out… you will never need to go elsewhere.

I am an optometrist who used to work in NYC and had the pleasure of working with Ira, Susan, and Marshall in the past. They are by far some of the most knowledgeable opticians in the country! I practice in California now but any time a friend of mine asks for recommendations in the east coast, I always recommend Occhiali. They know how to take care of you.

After going to numerous optician/​eyeglass stores that offered the same cookie cutter frames, I was pretty close to giving up on finding a perfect pair. I almost walked by this little shop. Luckily, my fiancé convinced me that I had nothing to lose at this point. I was so glad I walked in!
Occhiali has a very unique approach to eyewear. Rather than confusing the customer with an array of frames on the walls, Ira and Marshall conducted a brief consultation with me to find out what I was looking for in a pair of frames. Within a minute or so, Ira brought out frames that suited the shape of my eyes and face in styles from conservative to fashion foward.
Ira and Marshall answered every question I had and were very patient and friendly. Although I had only planned on buying one pair, I ended up purchasing 3 — with no regrets! I constantly get compliments on all my frames from complete strangers and friends alike.
I highly recommend this place. The eyewear, service and expertise are definitely worth it.

I have bought two pairs of eye glasses at Occhiali, and have nothing but wonderful things to say about this shop! The quality of the glasses is phenomenal, and I could not have asked for better service. Choosing frames has always been difficult for me, but with help from Susan, Ira, and Marshall, I have ended up with beautiful, stylish frames that also are a perfect fit for my face! A+!

For full service aficionados, this might be your cup of tea. If I had a different sales associate, perhaps it might have been mine as well.
There is no browsing – everything is hidden in solid wood drawers around the store and is brought to you by the sales associate. When I was asked what I was looking for, I mentioned fun, unusual, and cited Anne et Valentine as a particular brand favorite (I had actually found Occhiali through Anne et Valentine’s website vendor listing).
I’m not quite sure what in my verbal description or manner of dress (I was wearing thick-​rimmed canary yellow glasses) inspired the stream of rectangular dentist-​appropriate glasses I was brought, but every attempt at redirection brought more of the same. I did not get to see any Anne et Valentine frames.
I left frustrated, but managed to spend the remnants of my flexible health spending dollars a couple blocks away at Henry Miller Opticians and Visionary Optics. When I’m in a jam to spend down a ton of money in my FSA account next year, I’ll head straight there instead.

I walked out of Occhiali with the best glasses I have ever owned! What’s even more impressive is the fact that they were the very first pair that the sales attendant/​owner picked out for me — she literally nailed it on the first try! Nevertheless she pulled a wide area of other interesting options so I wasn’t at all pressured to go with the first option. Also, they were ready in A DAY! I love my glasses so much that I rarely wear my contacts!
Be aware, however, that the glasses were a SERIOUS investment — the frames themselves were around $ 400! If you’re willing to invest the $$, Occhiali will find you the perfect pair of glasses.

Last time I had an eye exam, I kicked and scream for a year because lenscrafters (the place next door to) had given me the wrong fit for my contacts, and my eyes hurt all the time.
This year, I decided that I would go all out when it came to my eye exam. I found ‘Occhiali’ while walking to work one day, and the glasses in the window display were so stunning that I decided to schedule an eye exam.
Being a client on the Upper East Side has its advantages. Even if you don’t have money, there’s a certain level of customer service that you don’t find elsewhere (the really high end stores are a different story).
The eye exams are scheduled on Saturdays. The doctor spent a great deal of time figuring out my exact prescription, and fitted my contacts with unprecedented accuracy.
Everyone there was kind, and seemed genuinely nice — yet upheld a certain level of professionalism that I hadn’t seen before, and very much enjoyed.
The final cost of exam: $ 150. But worth every penny.
