New York Sal’s Pizza

This little hole in the wall is only staffed with angry, always annoyed & unfriendly mexicans who have NO CLUE of what good customer service is… the pizza itself is alright… mediocre at best… and now that fat sal’s up 10^th has closed… you’d best walk east for any decent pizza… I will NEVER go there again after how I was treated there the last time, after living here for 20 years…

Great pasta, and great avocado with chicken salad. Friendly service, fresh food. This place is small inside, few seats n tables. The food has always been good whenever I eat here.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have higher stars. The delivery is always quick, food is steaming hot and drivers are very friendly. Pizza, pasta and subs are legit NY style and delicious #carbs

Honestly have never had a bad slice of Pizza in my life but this came pretty damn close. I had two slices of the most bland and boring pizza here, and it wasn’t nearly as cheap as it should have been. I’ve had dollar slices that have tasted far better. Worst of all, I burnt the hell out of my mouth off these slices so I’ve been reminded of how bad the pizza was 4 days later, which inspired this review. They were busy, but only because VIVA (a nearby club) was just wrapping up, which must be how their business survives. If you’re sober, find someplace else. If you’re wasted and starving looking for something closeby, you can walk another block or two.

Good pizza by the slice with friendly service. Tiny joint with space for about 9 people to sit. Cheese was very good, chicken/​tomato/​onion was very good, bbq chicken not my fave. Surprisingly the buffalo chicken pizza might be my favorite after the cheese. Will come back.

Worst experience with a pizza place. All I see is is great reviews but my experience was horrible. I ordered from GrubHub, my directions were VERY clear. Unfortunately this place dropped the ball and overlooked by directions completely. I got a completely wrong order. The worse part is, when GrubHub tried contacting them for a correction, they were told, the place would not fix the pizza, or offer a refund. I couldn’t even serve or eat this pizza so I paid $ 19.50 for food I cant eat. Luckily GrubHub offers some relief and gave a $ 10 credit. But I would never recommend a place that wont right their wrong. Unforgivable, you don’t even try!!!

Typical place, but the guys are nice. After being ushered to the «tip» line, I tipped the man behind the counter and walked away with my $ 8 order of mozzarella sticks. Turns out I was paying $ 2 per small, rubbery mozzarella stick. C’mon.

I love this place! I don’t know why the review is not 5 stars all the way. They have great packages meal with great prices. Taste like NY pizza to me

I got a slice and some garlic knots. I was the only one there around 9pm. The guys behind the counter were friendly. They let a old man with a dog come in and sit to chat and watch tv with them. I think that’s a health code violation but I didn’t mind. The pizza was crispy on the bottom and tasted ok. The garlic knots seem to be laced with garlic. It was so strong when I breathed out my mouth I could smell the garlic. My friend had some too and he was like holy $%#¥ these are garlicky. Luckily we didn’t plan or end up kissing anyone that night but we also never saw any vampires. The price was fair and the service good. I do not know any info on the delivery guy. I did not order delivery and walked in so this is how my review is based. If your concerned about the delivery guy, call ahead and check with the owner.

Good spot to get a quick bite and be treated decently!!! Personnel is friendly and pizza it’s very good!!! I have to admit I like pizza but this little place is special!
And DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO RUMORS ABOUT NY POST… It’s not the owner son or the pizza place. That is a false allegation.

Got delivery, it came fast and was your standard New york city pizza/​italian style. Plus was it was cheap. Would order from again

So i lived right around the corner from this place for about a month, and I went here a few times. First time I just got a slice that was okay. Second time I ordered a whole pizza (the lasagna pizza) which was okay… but then the day after I finished it off and it was even better. Third time, I ordered Lasagna and the pepperoni roll. The roll was so frikkin good, and the lasagna was okay.
So overall, the food was just okay. However, I’m sure I’d go back if i lived in the area again.

Pretty standard slice. Good hole in the wall kind of place — but not dirty. Kind guy behind the counter. Really did the trick on a Saturday night! Open until 3:30!

2.5 stars. Ordered a Cheese slice and a Deep Dish slice with chicken, tomatoes, and onions. The sauce on the pizza was below average and the pizza in general was below average pizza for NYC. The counter server was very friendly.

Please don’t. Just don’t. Tried them twice. Each time: dry, tasteless, old-​looking pizza. Pizza being pizza, even when it isn’t great, it usually isn’t that bad. Not in this case. Walk on.

They have Italian ice here! That’s really the only reason we went in. It was great on a hot day & it’s an oasis in a sea of places that don’t have them in the area.

I was hoping it would be good– I really was… I LOVE pizza. However, I’m pretty positive I could make a homemade Sicilian pie better — and I’m not Italian. What arrived was a doughy, goopey, mess of cheese and sauce. I could only handle one slice and I’m hoping that I can somehow doctor this mess up and make it better for leftovers… .but here’s hoping for a miracle.
2 stars are for delivery — at least it was fast.

Kind of bummed that I’m first here, but oh well. The 1 star is because I was essentially paid $ 10 to eat this dreck, thanks to the fine folks at Seamlessweb. Let me begin my recap of this painful ordeal…
Last Thursday, my GF was heading to Chicago for her sister’s bridal shower. She wanted a quick bite before leaving for JFK, so she called when she was on her way home and I placed the order. A large pie, half meatballs and pepperoni, half plain (she’s a vegetarian) and a side of chicken fingers. Got a call from a friend after placing the order and lost track of time (GF’s commute is about an hour). Didn’t realize there had been no confirmation email until about 40 minutes after the order was placed and Seamless called to let me know they had not received a response from the restaurant despite multiple phone calls, would be cancelling the order and giving me a $ 10 credit.
With the GF 20 minutes away, I had no choice but to cook. Whipped up a quick nosh, she enjoyed and left for the airport. About 2 hours later (just shy of 3 hours after placing the order) the dude showed up at my door, no explanation, no apology, nothing… I can only say I’m thankful I cooked for my better half, as the medium pizza (which was cold) was half meatball, half pepperoni… even if it had come on time, she’d have gone hungry. The greasiness of the chicken fingers had melted through the styrofoam, making it even worse. I ate half of a slice, went downstairs and gave the rest to my doorman, who gave me a frighteningly dirty look when I saw him the next evening… got a feeling he was as underwhelmed as I was.
