Cheap with the lettuce! Ordered the Italian Combo.

I ordered a Corned Beef on Rye for my traditional St. Patrick’s Day lunch. Nicely toasted Rye bread, fresh and not too salty corned beef with deli mustard and lettuce. The size was also perfect… not overstuffed. It was perfect today!

Great sandwiches for cheap price. I am usually critical of roasted sandwiches but I have to say that toasties gets it right. The service is quick and NYC friendly(so if you’re a New Yorker it’s friendly but if your from anywhere else it’s rude) I’ve tried the Russian and the turkey club. Both were toasted just right to be crunchy but not burnt. Soft but not chewy. The meat is fresh and the sauce is on point

Upping my rating from the last time I was here, mostly because I have a better appreciation for what they’re offering in context with what else is available in the area. This time I stopped in and got their The F1: House Combo which came with hot pastrami, corned beef, Swiss cheese, cole slaw, and Russian Dressing. Yes, I had it on rye toast because this was pretty much a Reuben and that requires Rye. The sandwich was very well constructed, the meat was juicy, and it was a winner in the taste department. For $ 6.50, this is a great value for the Financial District and for being located just a few doors away from Les Halles. If you’re looking for cheap, but tasty, sandwiches, it looks like New Toasties could be your best bet for a non-chain in the area.

Clearly I got suckered into eating here because I thought it was actual toasties. These bozos don’t know wth they are doing. No line, no order, the sandwich guy had apparently never heard of veggies on a bagel. They ran out of slices cucumber and claimed they on had cubed. Um. What? At 12:30p on a weekday? Avoid this poorly run place.

I’ve given this place so many chances. The owners are really nice people, which is why I always think it will be better the next time. Unfortunately, it never is. The cooks are 100% to blame. They simply don’t do what you ask, unless you pick from their menu. For example, I asked for a simple breakfast sandwich(2 egg-whites on a roll, with a tiny bit hot sauce). I even took the time to remind the cook, «Just a tiny bit of hot sauce please». The cook proceeded to put around 2 – 3 tbsp of tobasco on this little sandwich! Furthermore, the amount of egg didn’t even cover the surface of the roll. Literally, it was less volume than 1 egg. I think when they crack the eggs, they are just doing it really quickly, and they don’t give you all the egg-whites. Bottom line, the sandwich I got was an embarrassment. I know the owners would have been pretty upset with these cooks. Anyway, this is always the story when I visit this place. The cooks always get it wrong, and they don’t use any common sense. After wasting my time on multiple occasions, I had to write this review.

Had the house combo. Very good! Although my stomach was grumbling the rest of the day. There were so many options on the menu to choose from, it was a difficult decision! Will return for sure.

You may be overwhelmed when the guy behind the counter yells«NEXT» until someone orders, especially when you have no idea who has already ordered, and with all the options presented to you. But trust me, just ignore the line and order the Mt. Everroast or the House Combo. You won’t be disappointed. Plus good prices and free pickles with every sandwich.

Great selection of sandwiches and wraps. Reasonable prices. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich on a whole wheat role. It was ready quickly and it was delicious. They have a few tables inside that you can eat at. Will definitely be back.

I went here with a co worker one morning for a breakfast sandwich. The workers making the sandwich rudely kept asking me to order while I was looking at the menu. They stood around like a group of rowdy high schoolers snickering and laughing while we were coming down to a decision on what to order. I’m not sure what was so funny but I left feeling bad from the morning start. Sandwich is mediocre. Salt and pepper was asked later on and they look beyond annoyed. Not worth it at all especially in a city full of other delis.

Interior is plain not fancy. Sub that I ordered F3 — ham; it was good. A little smaller than I would have wanted. Under $ 8. Service was ok.

Not satisfied. I went here for lunch one day, and as soon as I walked in, and was looking at the menu, the employees kept staring at me with a dirty look. I order a chicken salad sandwich and the guy looked at me like i was crazy, even though it was the first option on the menu. I asked for pickles on my sandwich. And he just gave me a blank stare. When i got back to work, and took a bite into the sandwich, i realized it was tuna, not a chicken salad sandwich that i asked for. The only reason im giving 2 stars is the cashiers are very friendly, and their prices are great for financial district.

After watching my coworker bring back outrageously good looking sandwiches for the past month, I had to tag along today. Toasties is a small deli and shop by the Duane Reade that boasts a Mecca of sandwich and salad options. For my inaugural meal, I decided on the blackened turkey with chipotle mayo that just blew my socks off. The hero was toasted(as their name suggests) and was lightly accompanied with cold slaw and cheese. Sitting at my desk, other coworkers remarked on my un characteristically silent demeanor as I made happy faces while enjoying the sandwich. Prices are decent for FiDi. This particular one set me back $ 7.50+ tax an a bag of chips brought me to just over $ 10.

Usually they screw up my order, but I can fix it… like I say no tomato, and they add tomato. I just take it off. Its not like I have melted cheese or mustard everywhere that can’t be taken off. Other than that, the prices are right and the sandwiches are good! The Mexican is really good and surprisingly the jalepenos were quite fresh. Good taste

From outside, New Toasties looks just like any other deli place in NYC and in a way it is. However, their fresh sandwiches are exceptional. I ordered their Jerk Turkey sandwich and I was really surprised. The sandwich is lightly toasted with tons of marinated jerk turkey inside with Pepper Jack cheese. It is a huge sandwich and I was really full afterwards. They only have a few small tables and majority of people just order to go. If you are hungry, this is a good lunch spot for sandwiches.

That’s it. I quit you Toasties. I’ve had it with the employees here. The service is undoubtly one of the worst I’ve experienced. I gave them a shot because their sandwiches are good, but bad service trumps all. Every time I come here and order something«complex» I get a snippy attitude EVERY time. Is it so terribly hard to add an extra slice of cheese? Substitute regular cream cheese for lowfat? Toast the sandwich that comes cold? Give me a f#cking break! They always look at me like I have a third eyeball, pause and then questionably repeat my order back to me. I’m sorry did I just ask you to go milk the cow at a farm and make my cheese freshly processed? I always pay for whatever is extra and always politely ask for the adjustments. Today was my last visit when he paused after explaining that I wanted three cheeses on toast with ham. Then proceeded to stare at me like I just ordered the most random meal ever. So I asked«What’s wrong? You don’t make that?» He rolls his eyes and says«Yes, well I have to». «So what’s the problem?» I reply to no response from him. I should’ve known to do an about face from day one when I saw they used that dreaded Comic Sans as their font of choice for their logo. Peace out Toasties! It’s been real.

Toasties never disappoints and the massive tasty sandwiches are delivered with a smile. I tried the chipotle chicken and Colby jack sub today. Delicious! Hot spicy chicken slathered with Colby jack cheese on a sub for under 8 bucks. What’s not to like.
