This is the best Chinese place on the UES. The food isn’t over priced and it is always fresh and delicious. Delivery is very fast. Sesame chicken is very good also.

Ordered takeout tonight — showed up 10 mins early and the place was pleasant enough that I wouldn’t have minded sitting in there to wait. My order was already ready which was nice because I only ordered sesame noodles(a good barometer for a new place for me). These sesame noodles are different from most other places around here but still outstanding. Very sweet and very spicy. Reminds me of a place I used to frequent in college in DC, so also bonus points for nostalgia.

I sometimes get take out from this place. They do a lot of that, but it’s not really the place to sit down and eat. The beef and broccoli is pretty good. The wonton soup is ok. But I’ve found better place to order from so I don’t order from here anymore.

This is my regular go-to chinese delivery place. I’ve been ordering here for over a year. It is always fast and they never mess up my order.

Decent food, I always order the shrimp and broccoli lunch special as you get more for your buck! Also they are very accommodating to changes or additions to your order.

Food is good but everything is really small. The wonton soup is just 3 quarter sized wontons, and the egg roll was the size of my thumb. Good portion control considering that these are clearly not healthy choices, but sometimes you just want some FOOD. I ordered vegetable fried rice which was a good portion, but pretty much just shredded carrots and peas. Delicious, but definitely could have offered a few more veggies. Sesame chicken and lo mein were delicious and everything you’d hope in portion/taste, so that made up for everything else! The spicy broccoli lunch special was literally the opposite of spicy but definitely not bad, but if you’re looking for spicy that’s not your best option. Definitely affordable and really quick so I would order again.

I just received my delivery from. SUNNYEAST88. I opened the chicken with peanuts and broccoli to find a roach cooked into the sauce. I immediately called the restaurant. I was put on hold by the rudest woman ever. I called back and told her what had happened and she nonchalantly said«so what do you want us to do». I’m not kidding this was her response. I asked to speak with a manager or owner and she told me that none of the managers or owners speak English. I also filed a report with the city of New York. And I suspect I know the reason this restaurant changed names from Noodle 28 to this. I would NEVEREVEREATHEREORORDERFROMTHISPLACEAGAIN.

Compared to other Chinese deliveries around the area, this place has the best value/food. I ordered the sesame chicken lunch and beef/broccoli lunch and both were good. The beef/broccoli was a bit too salty but I liked the fact that the meal was packaged apparently from the rice and the sauce wasn’t all over the rice. Also, the lunch specials are around $ 6 and it doesn’t include soup or soda. I rather pay this price than to pay more and get a soup or egg roll that I don’t really care for. The pork dumplings here are also pretty good as other have mentioned.

I had the chicken with broccoli combo dinner. It was good and the fried rice was not too oily. Overall good value. Would order again.

This place is amazing! The Shrimp and Broccoli is fantastic. My wife orders the chicken and garlic sauce and loves it as well. They are so pleasant and friendly! By far the best Chinese food on the UPPEREASTSIDE.

Great food, super fast delivery. Love this place! Everyone is always pleasant and if they have a question regarding your order they call to verify. I normally get chicken in garlic sauce or the chicken and broccoli. And hNds down best brown rice in the city. I order from them once a week.

Ordered the lunch special: chicken and eggplant with veggie fried rice, egg roll and cold noodles. It was not amazing or horrible but just ok. The veggie fried rice was bland and dry. The egg roll didn’t have much filling and the cold noodles again didn’t have much flavor. I guess this is why their grade is pending. I don’t think I will be returning so I’m still on my search of a great place for Chinese food :(

Go to Chinese delivery on the UES. This is not a place to dine-in so all the people who complained about that should maybe re-evaluate. I’ve probably ordered from Sunny 4x in the past 1 – 2 months. Their food is fresh and healthy. You can tell the wontons are made from scratch and are lighter and tastier with less oil than your standard Chinese place. One of my favorite options is the steamed dishes. You can pick what kind of protein you want, and choose exactly what veggies and sauce on the side. Super healthy. Super delicious. Feeds me twice. Huge fan.

This place has great sesame chicken! I have only ordered delivery. The food arrives in about half the quoted time. Great prices, great service, fast delivery.

Read the latest health inspection(12−16−13) «Live Roaches present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.» I only thought to look after getting delivery that smelled FAR too horrible to eat. This place needs to be shut down immediately.

I’ll echo the reviews of the others lamenting the death of Sunny East Restaurant and its replacement with this new Sunny East 88. New Sunny East used to be my «go to» Chinese restaurant on the UES. There was nothing in the neighborhood that even compared to it. Now this new Sunny East 88 has opened and its not even worth my visiting anymore. The food has completely lost its quality and borders on tasteless. I’m now in the process of trying to find an alternative Chinese Restaurant on the UES, but as of today’s date, I have not had much luck. I’ll let everyone know if I do!

Basically just another kinda«meh» kinda Chinese place on the UES. Meh — meh — meh. Just a small little spot that is good for takeout and you don’t care too much what you want to eat for dinner. Will do some steamed plates if trying to eat a bit healthier, but kind of bland tasting food overall. Not a destination place. Skip it if you want better food for lunch or dinner.
