Worst food ever. The food I got from the salad bar was sour, it tasted terrible not to mention the really dense sushi roll and the fat mozzarella and tomato slices with basil!

Just normal deli restaurant. But the price is reasonable, and one of the most cheap deli restaurant around times square. Quiche is one of the best one I have ever had! Try Quiche! It is no that salty, but tasty!

Very dirty, but also affordable. Not a bad place to have a quick snack. Not a place to bring girlfriend for a date. Hot bar with $ 8.49/pound. Large/small soup for $ 3.29/$ 3.79.

I have been ordering from here for years. The woman always taking my orders is «Chewy». She is the best. Fast, efficient and very friendly. I always get bfast here. It can vary feom bfast platters, to bagels and bfast sandwiches. For lunch, I’ve ordered different kinds of wraps and sandwiches. I’m never disappointed. Their tuna melt deluxe is always great. The delivery guys get here really fast, as well, so my food’s always hot. I recommend this place.

Found this place by accident and loved it. The steam table was full of good, fresh, hot food. Selling by the pound works for me! Beverages cost extra. There are several stores like this in mid-town, give this and the others a try.

The cashiers at the front needs to have some sort of customer service. They may be just robotic cashiers, but they need to have some common sense. Purchased food and coffee today(pouring rain in NYC, today!) — She packed my food in a small plastic bag & packed my coffee in a separate brown bag. I asked for a bigger plastic bag for everything… since it was POURING outside. She literally just gave me the bag and I had to pack it myself. Really? Note to self for next time — Go to McDonald’s. Must friendlier.

The location is quite convenient, positioned right on 7th ave but that comes with a cost. If you decide to buy by the pound, it is $ 8.99/lb [Or was for me on a Saturday night]. Unfortunately the food tasted bland and dry, not worth the money I spent. I think I would have been better getting McD or something else cheaper.

This review is based specifically on their breakfast. If you work around this area, this is the best place to get a fresh & budget friendly breakfast. Ive been coming here for a while now and will continue to do so. Ive tried their buffet options a couple times, it was just okay.

One stop shop. Hot breakfast cooked daily along with breakfast treats(muffins/tarts/etc) and fruits/yogurt. Deli shop as well and hot lunch served. Food during lunch ranges from American/Italian/Chinese dishes. Reasonable pricing for most of the food as it’s you pay for food by the pound. Lunch is $ 7.50/lb

i am starting out that all i had purchased from this deli is the boba milk tea. i did walk around and it does offer a bunch of different food, but i was only interested in the boba as there are not too many places around midtown that offer this delicious drink. it was a little piece of heaven even though i couldn’t figure out where to order it at with all the different counters. i asked the cashier and while i was to order it there, she called someone to prepare it. then i had to wait a few minutes. but i will wait that wait again just to have that is piece of heaven. i can’t wait to return!

I would say my experience here was below average. They have a lot of options for food, but everything is very bland.

I wish this was closer to my office. This is the only deli buffet I know of in the area that has a hot breakfast buffet. Pre-made sausage egg cheese on english muffins, 3 diff types of scrambled eggs/omelettes, bacon, diff types of sausage, french toast, pancakes, and 3 types of home fries among other thngs. the home fries with swiss cheese is so YUM. All pay by the pound. They have a pretty extensive fresh fruit buffet as well. Def coming back!

An average lunch experience in every sense. I normally get the Bibimbap for lunch and take care of my vegetable needs for the week. They really need to stop skimping on the meat portion of the Bibimbap. It’s in no way authentic but nonetheless doable Bibimbap. Buffet food was alright, nothing spectacular but it’s edible(albeit barely for some of the choices) Udon was sub-par. I like Duke’s one better. Duke’s udon soup has more flavor.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve only had three things from this place: the udon soup, the homemade fig bars and the black & white cookie. All of which are exceptional. I’ve been walking past this run-of-the-mill, non-descript deli for 3 years and never bothered to stop. Until a coworker told me about the udon soup, that is. So I stopped in to give it a try. The soup counter is right beside the iced coffee station, near the far end of the cold salad bar. They have three choices of noodles: udon, ramen or veg. soba(?). You pick your noodle and they boil it for you and ask what ingredients you’d like. You can choose from vegetables, meats, boiled eggs, tempura, etc. then they pour on the broth, add seasoning to your liking(get the powder) and you’re good to go. You get a HUGE container for $ 6.50 and it’s delicious. I’m generally not crazy about soup, but this stuff is awesome and I tend to get it 3 – 4 times per week now. It will fill you up without leaving you feeling overstuffed. One of the best deals for lunch in the neighborhood. And those homemade fig bars(up by the registers) are amazing. Yum!

I swear I’ve been to every damn salad bar/buffet in midtown and this is the best. I have been taken in far too many times by the perfect, glistening and delicious looking buffets elsewhere only to end up with tasteless mud. This place, on the other hand, has one of the most unappetizing looking buffets around, but what can I say, it’s delicious each and every time. The fruit is always quite fresh as well. They have a salad thing as well which pales compared to other nearby options(Pax being my pick), and they used to do pasta but ditch that. Some sandwiches as well which I’ve skipped. Just get the buffet. Oh and, they have a sign on the buffet saying«IFYOUTAKENOTHINGBUTBACONYOUWILLCHARGEDDOUBLE.» What’s not to love?

We had just spent a week in NYC and we had ate out a dozen times and just wanted something simple for breakfast. They sell little boxes of cereal and we had frosted flakes, they were so simple but so satisfying. They also have quite a large soup and salad bar, it is a cheaper alternative to whole foods market.

You know these instances — the person that is always around but you’ve never thought about dating? Until one day they say something funny/do something cute. You realize, omg, how did I not notice this before?! Right here in front of my face! So of course, you begin dating, it is wonderful, you dream of your future together, etc… About a week later, you realize how lame they are, you break-up, you cry, & ponder why the world plays such cruel tricks. Some time after the devastation subsides, you run into them(bit of a desperate slump perhaps?) & have one of those«We had so much fun! We should get together again!!» Before you know it, you & your long-lost love are reunited & reliving the joy that was your relationship. Shortly followed by, «Ahhh, now I remember why I definitely should have NEVER dated this person in the first place.» New Star is this person. It is close to your office. You walk past it everyday. One day it hits you — why don’t I go here?! I’ve never been & it looks good & it is so close & has so much to offer! You enter, realize you should at least try something even though it seems a bit more creepy from inside. Try the soup! Eh…food poisoning. Awesome. You vow to never go again. Well…maybe one more time…(you know the saying, «fool me once» or something like that, George?) Anyway, it is raining hard, you are hungry, you wince & walk in. You meander around, pondering the selection. All of the sudden, you realize where you are! & that you would rather pay $ 8 for a bagel at Dean & Deluca, 2 avenues over, than eat anything from New Star! You leave. Quickly. Quietly. However, you don’t give up hope. You have faith that when you least expect it, a new crappy deli will be lingering right around the next corner. Ready to make you think you will like them, only to turn out to be just as lame as the last, forcing you to a.) go hungry, b.) pay more to go somewhere slightly less nauseating, or c.) suck it up for a week of cheap meals followed by bouts of regret. Who doesn’t love dating in the city? I mean eating. Eating in the city.

I wanted something different and I happened to walk into this place. For your typical open buffet, pay per pound deli in Manhattan, its not bad. Prices are reasonable and its certainly a nice change from the multitudes of fast food in the area.
