Walking on Crosby Street when I spotted this neat little joint. I liked the colors so I went in. The tableware is beautiful. All porcelain, made by hand, in the land down under. I have never bought anything there but I am strongly considering it. Sales girl was not pushy and was open to questions without displaying the usual blank stares of someone working in a store with no customers. I would come back and explore further. I don’t usually review such places but I felt drawn to for some odd reason. Worth a visit IMHO.

A storefront displaying the type of things that don’t require a storefront, I don’t know how or why they survive.

Their products are precious, but not terribly well made and not at all for everyday use. We received many pieces for our wedding. The plates and bowls feel very brittle and they are. We handle them with kid gloves and we’ve lost several plates after just 1.5 years. The bowls are very mis-shapen and do not stack well. A friend who told us about Mud has shattered several of her bowls simply by stacking them. When she informed the store she bought them from, they told her not to stack them. The bottoms of many pieces have pieces of grit from the factory embedded so they always look a bit dirty. They come in dozens of beautiful colors and always elicit a comment from visitors.
