Oddly pretentious for its price point and quality. We had eaten a huge lunch the day that we went so when we stopped in at 4 ish we were just looking for apps and wine. The restaurant was basically empty so we were seated immediately. I was impressed with how beautiful the place was. Everything was pristine and the terrarium where we sat was gorgeous. It reminded me of eating in the Italian countryside(I’ve never eaten in the Italian countryside but I imagine it’s something like this). The menu was pretty short and limited and I was surprised that a place that bills itself as a wine place(with vino in the name, no less) had a really shockingly short wine list. We weren’t particularly drawn to any of the bottles on the list and so decided to both order by the glass. I tried the Cerasuolo D’Abruzzo 2014 Marramiero(Rosé) and my boyfriend tried the Ischia Bianco 2014 Casa D’Ambra. He liked his but I wasn’t particularly impressed by either. They were fine but I wouldn’t have ordered a second glass of either one. We both ordered 2 selections from the cheese/meats section. He had the prosciutto di parma and the parmagiano reggiano, and I had the sopressata and the pecorino. I thought the sopressata was the best selection, but I was underimpressed with the rest. I thought the prosciutto was actually pretty dry, and the cheeses were fine but I’ve had better for cheaper. I was least impressed with the service. Our server was a little snooty, in my opinion. Sure, we weren’t a huge bill, but it was 4 pm and it wasn’t like he had any other tables. He made some comments when we just ordered apps, and made some remark when I said I liked the wine like«Oh, good, I just won a bet»…either a weird joke, or he actually made a bet with some people that I wouldn’t like the wine. It was just a strange thing to say and didn’t settle totally well with me. Overall, it was fine. If someone begged me to go back I probably would, but otherwise I’ll stay away. Its proximity to the MOMA is nice.

Lovely lovely little restaurant with an extremely classy, romantic atmosphere that’s perfect for a date or anniversary. It’s very quiet so if you’re looking to go somewhere with a group of friends for a laugh, this is not the place. The location is extremely convenient, right off the 5th Avenue shops and 200m from the Hilton Midtown hotel. The staff are extremely nice and let diners stay past the 10pm closing time without even saying a thing. Our waiter was even encouraging us to order desert at 10:21pm. So, so impressed! The food was also delicious! We had fried zhuchini as an appetiser(yum) and I had the mozzarella rolls with eggplant and sundries tomato. It was extremely fresh and light, yet filling — exactly what I needed as I was still a little full from brunch. Do try both meals of you come here!

Food was fantastic — FM the gazpacho to the homemade ravioli to the biscotti served with our cappuccino. Service was great, table in the back garden area was intimate, and the price very reasonable. We’ve found out new go to place!

The paninis are a must. The food in general is flavourful and not salty. The waiter who took care of us was a very nice guy, very attentive and helpful. For my speaking Spanish friends he basically translated all the fancy words into things they could relate. We had a baby and they try to accommodate our table location for the stroller space. That same day we went to other restaurants in the area and we had to leave because they didn’t let us in with the baby stroller. However, at mozzarella and vino we asked first and the manager said yes immediately,(well I think he was the manager.) When we finished dinner they gave us complimentary almond chocolate biscotti, they were so good. The restaurant also has a back garden and it’s very pretty, perfect for a romantic and casual summer dinner. I’ll definitely go back and I hope the keep the good work.

Went for lunch. The service was very slow. I ordered the Italian Sausage and sent it back. It had chucks of fat in it, I just couldn’t eat it. Yuck! My co workers had the meatballs and the chicken salad, both were ok. Wouldn’t recommend.

Hey great restaurant, moderately priced with excellent food. Excellent service also and a friendly staff. The cheeses and meats are the forte.

Our waiter had a slight attitude and barely checked in on us throughout the evening. My ravioli came out with some parts cold so that, because it was a dinner within my birthday weekend, was disappointing. I also found it bizarre that they were playing a Christmas song in the middle of May?

Terrible food, slow service. There is nothing authentic about this place, they shouldn’t be calling themselves an Italian restaurant. Since when do you put mushrooms in lasagna? Not even fresh mushrooms, CANNED mushrooms, believe me, I could taste the difference. I ate it because I was hungry. Waste of $ 20. My friend was not told her entrée would come on a bed of greens so she ordered a salad unnecessarily. My other friend’s veal entrée was the biggest disappointment… it was just a few shaved slices on a plate — poor guy had to eat two baskets of bread to get full. Do not even think of stepping foot in here. Probably the worst restaurant I’ve been to in NY thus far.

Stumbled upon this place on Sunday evening and ate there based on the name alone. Menu looked good and no wait to sit at the bar. Enjoyed the mozzerella, basil, tomato and grilled eggplant plate. Cheese was fresh and plentiful, would have loved a few more tomatoes to round it out– polished off the whole thing with a bowl of fresh bread and breadsticks. Glass of house chianti was generous as well! Finished with a dish of pistachio/vanilla/chocolate ice cream. Perfect portion size, and ice cream was really tasty — chocolate had a dark chocolate flavor and was my favorite of the three. Dining room looked nice as well and rest of the menu looked really good. Would for sure come back!

I was in here yesterday with my friend. She was just wanted a wine and cheese snack so while were walking I noticed the name and I pointed it out to her. We were going to sit at the bar but the gentleman who was occupying the area up front that has two small round tables was leaving and let us know that so we sat there. That might have been a mistake. We sat there after getting a wine menu. There was no food on the menu so we weren’t sure if they didn’t sell food despite the name. When we selected what wine we wanted we tried getting our server’s attention but it took a while. We ordered our wines. When we got our wine we asked about a food menu. We were given a menu containing a variety of cheeses and meats. Once we decided on what we wanted once again we tried getting the waiter’s attention. I was doing my best to slowly sip my wine so I would have wine when we got our cheese and meat. The meat options were all pork except one which is what we chose. We also got taleggio, parmagiano reggiano, and provolone. Once again a long wait. When we got the platter we got chunks of the cheese and slices of the meat. The platter was adorned with blueberries, walnuts, 2 slices of pumpernickel bread. In the center was some sort of jam. The food was good. But the service left much to be desired especially since the place was not busy.

So good!!! My friend and I stumbled over here after our visit to the MOMA and I couldn’t have been happier. The mozzarella and prosciutto over arugula was fabulous as was the sausage with broccoli rabe. If I wasn’t a tourist I come back here again and again to explore the menu. The service was also phenomenal.

My friends and I came across Mozzarella & Vino on a rainy Saturday afternoon after a day at the MOMA. What a gem! FACILITY The restaurant and bathroom are very clean. The décor is simple and upscale. They have an adorable garden room in the back. GOODS The food was super fresh. We were not very hungry, so we ordered a bottle of wine and 3 appetizers. We found it filling among the 3 of us. We ordered the following: 1. The«Panzanella» is a Tuscan salad of poached tuna, tomatoes, cucumber, breadcrumbs, capers and olives. This size was reasonable for 2 – 4 people as an appetizer. It paired very well with our wine. 2. The calamari was as exceptional as other Unilocalers reported. It was airy and crispy, not oily and flappy. 3. Cheese and meat board was pretty good. We had a small dallop of fig jam. I found it very small. My friends and I each took a pinky nail size so we each could taste it. The platter also included pumpernickel bread, about 10 blueberries, a few almonds, parmigiano reggiano cheese, prosciutto, and salami. 4. The white wine Per Linda Trebbiano d’Abruzzo was crisp and delicious. I like sweet wines, while my friends prefer the drier varieties. We were all pleased with this wine.

Nice dinner at a reasonable price with friendly, polite and efficient service. We had the special lasagna, ravioli and a lite arugula salad with cheese and walnuts. The main dishes were quite good, although the sauce was a bit on the thin and light side for my taste. A very nice red wine special was offered in place of the standard chianti which was full bodied, spicy and an excellent accompaniment to the pasta. Standard bread and olive oil preceded the meal — nice but no spices or other flavors to make it exceptional. We skipped dessert, but we were brought a pair of delicious chocolate biscotti bites. A nice breezy atmosphere, with excellent friendly service. A very nice meal at a convenient location across from the MOMA.

We came here on a MOMA break, to rest mind and body mid way through the museum. Adorable little place with a very European vibe. It was 2 of us and our request to sit outside was denied because they had no more tables for 2 out there. Though they had 3 or 4 empty tables with 4 chairs. Oh well. We each has a glass of wine. I had the minestrone soup and my companion had the mozz/Tom/basil panini. We also shared the fried zucchini. Everything was delicious including the complementary bread! My soup was a large portion and(I checked) totally vegetarian. No sneaky chicken broth here. Loaded with diced veggies. The aforementioned bread dipped in the broth creates bites of perfection. The panini was great too. Pretty good sized and yum yum yummy mozz! The zucchini was out of this world good. Sliced thin like matchsticks kinda and lightly breaded and fried. Not overly oily. Completely addictive. we finished with a macchiato and latte. The service was outstanding. My only complaint is the prices. My soup was $ 12. tho the portion was big, it’s soup, guys. Panini was same price. Zucchini was $ 10. The real killer? Those coffee were $ 5.50 each. I wouldn’t have ordered, had I known. Coffee was served with little almond biscotti at least. It was a great lunch but the prices were a little steep, I felt.

We visited this restaurant for a business lunch. Loved the menu– and of course, the mozzarella! We had a white Italian wine(sorry, cannot remember the name), arugula salad to start and then I ordered the antipasti with prosciutto and Parmesan. The plate was good, but the ravioli that a coworker ordered looked fantastic. They make their pasta in-house. We came straight from the airport and had our bags with us. The restaurant was accommodating and held our bags up front. In addition, two people from our party were already seated when we arrived and we ended up having one additional person. They switched tables for us with no issues during busy lunch time. Would recommend this spot for quick lunches, business lunches and traditional Italian food(and of course, the mozzarella)! Our table ordered the following things and everything looked fantastic: Bean soup Farro salad Arugula salad Ravioli(special of the day) Mozzarella tasting(3 types) Mozzarella roll Antipasti plate

If you are GF, this is not your restaurant. I called in advance and they said they could do GF penne. But once there they said no. So my wife had to settle for a burger no bun. She asked for medium rare and got medium well done. The fries were not crisp on the outside. I had the calamari which was outstanding. Service was 3. The guy behind us had to ask for his soup 3 – 4 times over a 15 minute period before he got his order.

Yum! Delicious! Cute restaurant located on 54th Street in Mid-Town. My friend recommended this restaurant, so we decided to try it. We weren’t disappointed! My friend, husband, and I dined around one o’clock today. When we entered the restaurant it was packed with diners. However, we were lucky enough to be seated at the last available table. Shortly after being seated a bread basket and olive oil were brought to the table. After reviewing the menu, we decided on two lasagnas and a ravioli. Both dishes were flavorful and delicious! The lasagna was full of meat, mushrooms, cheese, and sauce. The raviolis were filled with ricotta and topped with the right amount of sauce. I would highly recommend this fabulous restaurant next time you are in the area! We had such a wonderful time visiting with a friend. We forgot to take pictures of our AMAZING meal:(

Mozzarella & Vino is a great dining option when in Midtown – the menu is classic Italian with a few surprises, and is affordable for the area. I brought my mom here for dinner and we were very pleased with our meal. I started with the panzanella salad and also had the calamari – both dishes were light enough that having them together I was full. The panzanella was fresh, and the calamari perfectly crispy and not soggy. Our drinks were also successful – I started with a well made Manhattan and switched to a nice white wine that our server recommended. The restaurant was smaller than I expected, but in a cozy, romantic way. The back area was closed for a private event, but I bet that adds more space for diners. It also wasn’t very crowded on a weekend night during December, I bet due to it being set away from the hustle and bustle and more touristy areas. I really enjoyed my meal and would come back for more!
